The Great Roots Forestry Spa Resort

A nice place for all the family where you can rest , enjoy the nature and take bath in the hot spring. With all these dinosaurs, it’s really a paradise for little kids.
The buffet restaurant is perfect (dinner and breakfast). I made a long walk in the beautiful forest around.
In the night, when it’s the season, you can admire fireflies in the park.

This is a great place for a nature and mountain getaway with the Hot Springs. The Hot Springs themselves are really relaxing and the mountain air that is super fresh can’t be beat. The only gripe I have is the limited dining options which were OK and also the fact that there isn’t many places for alternative foods or snacks. There is a tiny on-site convenience store would you visit. Also, it is really cold up here so if you are planning on visiting, even if it’s hot, bring a jacket because it gets really cold at night and in the morning.

The room was spacious and comfortable, albeit not much of a view, but I came for the hot spring, and it was quite comfortable and relaxing. Sometimes there can be quite a crowd in the hot spring though, so we chose to go when the crowd is less.
My kid loved the entertainment centre, it is open from 8ish to late at night (i think 11 pm)

The trails in the resort are very nicely trimmed and cleared of debris to have a nice walk. Kid found interesting statues to look at while having fresh air.

We had BBQ for dinner, everything well-prepared and scrumptious, but there were a number of mosquitoes I guess cannot be helped since we're in the open. Nice atmosphere to chillax and bbq

Overall a very good stay, we slept very well, and hope to be able to come here again soon.

Our family room had two huge windows facing the mountains--we got a full view of the jungles which was awesome. We loved it. The room was set up nicely and it didn't feel crowded with the four of us. Comfy beds and futons. The bathroom was clean and spacious; it had a tub and a separate shower stall. The hotel is located inside the forest resort and right next to the 3 hiking trails. Great stay!

Stayed two nights right before tomb sweeping festival. Fantastic service and calm atmosphere.
Perfect for families because of the indoor entertainment center and indoor/outdoor playground. Rooms are large and clean.

The spa is lovely and there are even hiking trails connected to the hotel.

Hiking trail 1: 30 minutes with stairs and a suspension bridge
Hiking trail 2: 60 minutes with dirt paths and ropes
Hiking trail 3: 90 minutes with dirt paths and ropes

Breakfast was great; buffet style and eastern and western choices.

Getting there is a headache by public transportation, but the website gives clear directions.

On the weekends it gets crazy busy but on weekdays it’s very calm. Highly recommended

The VIP hot spring room I had was clean and dried up even during the new year super busy time when I visited. It's okay! Parking is $50 so find outside parking if possible. A little pricier than 北投 but the view and the air was worth it. The hiking trail was clean and the hikers have decency to use the trash cans. It's a great place to hike because I'd rather pay some money to enjoy decent people, maintained trails, and manicured landscapes.

Beautiful place, very natural and trees are very old. They have very unique trees here, whose roots grow outside the ground to great heights. There are b3 options to trek. The easiest one is 30mins.. it's doable with family and kids. They also have lunch options. Outdoor SPA is excellent, has a good view and well maintained. They also have stay package, which includes free breakfast.

Very clean and new. The view from fourth floor facing the garden is beautiful. We got lucky to have sunny days during our stay here. Stay during rainy season wouldn't be a good choice. Buses 807 and 908 are pretty convenient to and from the MRT and Sanxia Old Street. The rainbow bridge and the other bridge were pretty fun. There are also arcades and Switch. The breakfast buffet had lots of tasty food

Great hotel. Our room was big and comfy. We had a BBQ, everything was really well organised by the hotel. 500$ per person, tons of good food.

First time here. I was very impressed with this place. The decor was very clean and modern, imo. The available amenities great; with 3 hikes of varying length, basement entertainment center filled with arcades, console games, pool table, ping pong, children's area, etc. You can book with BBQ as well and that includes 2 large boxes of all the fixings you could want at a BBQ; beef, pork (a whole pig), seafood, etc. The hot springs area was very nice as well with plus ranging from 42(?) degrees C to as low as 12 degrees C. Bring some swim trunks. You need a swim cap but they have them at the pool. Great experience and I would totally bring my family here again. Oh btw, it's a very family friendly place.

I have been to Great Roots Forest few years ago, and I come back here and stay one night this time. Everything is improved, comfortable and relax. I join the company trip and they give us a spacious luxury room with a tatami area. The classic path in the forest is a good start to explore the resort, and after hiking, I suggest you to have a hot spring and spa at night. If you are lucky to come here in summer, follow the instructions at the front desk, and you can have fireflies on the path to the climbing ground around 7-8pm. Entertainment center is another spotlight to spend your leisure time. Don't miss Switch, Car Racing and Kinect before you leave the resort. Two days trip in Great Roots Forestry Spa Resort has more things can do beyond your expectation.

Beautiful rooms, the private (guests) hot spring is nice. Restaurant serves very nice Western cuisine with a good buffet. A little pricey, but worth it. Game centre is funny. Staff were helpful and friendly. Shuttle bus from/to the nearest MTR was very useful!

In their main gift shop building, there is a place introduce tea history. Travel around the world for many times, I must say it has the best organic black tea I ever tasted. Without trying their black tea, it is hard to t say one has experience the best part of the hotel

Best to visit here in low season. Good place to enjoy the forest, hot spring and tranquility. Suitable for family. Booked their family room and our kid loved it. The slide, toy and kid-friendly amenity in the room were amazing.

Come to have BBQ and hiked afterwards at the trail nearby which you can select a 30 min one or longer 60min. Also for kids there was activity to make dinosaur fossil from dough. Had a good day and spend about 7hrs.

Our office Wei-Ya at this place and we were pleasantly delighted with its banquet. The food was not lovely seasoned as most restaurants, which means we could taste the natural flavour of the ingredients. Besides the restaurant was located next a subtropical forest, super convenient for an after-meal stroll. Highly recommended~~

A nice forest resort with dense trees in this area. Also there are plenty facilities for relaxing and refreshing. The best part is that it's not too far from the city, a 50 mins drive will take you from the very noisy city center to this quiet and nature field.
