Splendid Palace Hotel in Buyukada

The place is a lovely old refurbished hotel.
A 110 years old heritage was shown in every part of it.
We had my husband's birthday in the hotel and they very nicely surprised him with  champagne and delicious cake.
Service was excellent.  From reception to the waiters were all professional and lovely. Dinner was delicious .
It is in a very central location with a fab view.
I recommend the cocktail called "mualla". Wow!
Overall it was excellent. I wish we would have more of these type of national treasures.

Wonderful experience. First, we got a great room for a nice rate (the hotel was almost empty when we came) and everyone was very nice. It’s true that the hotel has a very special old time atmosphere (we wanted to change for a cheaper option after couple of days but it was already so hard to leave). The interiors are awesome and very stylish, the views from the hotel are magnificent. The reception is very helpful except we did have to ask for some things a few times but eventually we did get them (unlike other hotels in Turkey). Generally the place is very friendly and has a nice vibe. There are some things about the room of course - like old ceilings, stains on the carpet which were quiet unpleasant, and main disadvantage of the hotel - it’s made of wood so you feel like everyone walking is inside your room, but the atmosphere of this place is worth it this disadvantages. What I didn’t like about the room was the bed - first, we got 2 beds moved together instead one one large which is always inconvenient, and second, the mattresses felt quite cheap and too firm. Very beautiful pool (it’s very cold though, would be nice to heat it), tasty breakfast - nothing special but everything is super fresh and we really enjoyed it. Overall, definitely one of the hotel experience we will remember and will love to repeat.

With words of gratitude, I would like to note that every time I leave this hotel, I want to come back here again. And all this thanks to the hotel team, which was able to recreate the authentic atmosphere and spirit of the last century and preserve it .Ho wever, the rooms of this hotel are equipped with everything necessary for everyday use. In addition, high-quality, professional service and varied breakfasts made our family vacation unforgettable.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights during mid May 2022 and had a wonderful experience. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive and helpful and will go out of their way to make you feel looked after. They made us feel like old friends rather than paying guests.

Our rooms were immaculately cleaned and fully restocked every day. The bed was soft and luxurious and the room itself was very quiet. Our room didn’t have air conditioning but we found that leaving the balcony door ajar at night was enough to grant us comfortable and peaceful sleep. Our shower was powerful and consistently hot.

The breakfasts were bountiful, offering a vast array of options from cold meats, cheeses, olives, fruit, yoghurts and delicious pastries and spreads. And the interior design of the main areas made us feel like we were on an Art Deco film set.

The pool isn’t heated but it is attended to and kept clean. The evening meals are cooked with great care but the portion sizes are a little small. Probably because the breakfasts are so enormous!

All in all, we would stay again in a heartbeat!

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful—I stayed for 3 days and was happy that I chose this hotel despite their mixed reviews online. My room was very clean and the showers seemed new.

Their cafe is amazing and sells cold brew(!) and freshly made desserts. The bar makes surprisingly good/elegant cocktails—I feel like this is probably their main draw, compared to the other options you’d have on the island.

Fantastic place with amazing atmosphere and architecture. Perfect location. Very good views. “O” cocktail in the bar downstairs is very good ❤

I had the pleasure of staying at Splendid Palace in June for one day. Although we arrived early in the morning ms. Havva at the reception was kind enough for us to already let us check in to our room. We immediately had a breakfast on the peaceful terrace with a gorgeous view of the sea and the Asian side of Istanbul. The breakfast was lavish, diverse and delicious, I would definitely recommend. Later in the afternoon we went to the large pool in the backyard where we ordered drinks and had some time to chill under the sun.
The staff was very kind and helpful to us, making us feel at ease and showing interest if something was needed. But most importantly the building was truly beautiful and gorgeous. It felt like going back to the early 20's, it was kind of an oriental Grand Budapest Hotel. Inside the building there is a lot of natural light, eye-catching colours and just a very peaceful atmosphere. Everytime I come back to Istanbul I will definitely make sure to at least spend two days at this hotel. Please do not hesitate to stay.

Outstanding historical hotel on Buukada. A blittle bit expensive but worth it!

We had a splendid afternoon tea at splendid hotel on the outside terrace overlooking the sea. The team is professional, friendly, and attentive. The different pastries and sandwiches offered were tasty and well-presented. Overall we found this to be a wonderful must-do experience that we recommend to others visiting buyukada just like sunset at the monastery or the horse-drawn carriage rides.

Ideally located this nostalgic hotel was clean and provided us great hospitality. The staffs were very helpful and made our stay unforgettable, especially front office manager Mr. Atil was very helpful and guided us throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

A hotel stopped in time in the previous century. Amazing décoration. The rooms are impeccable but no air conditioning...the fan does the trick.
The staff is really nice. I guess that's what you call "Turkish hospitality".
Come here for one night or two and relax.....

It's like time traveling. Amazing and clean place with a beautiful İstanbul view. Don't compare with modern/fancy hotels, this hotel is more than 100 years old. You will feel it.

Perfect setting, full of history, high ceiling interior and classical paintings and decoration. Lovely cafes and nice breakfast.

One of the few family hotels and the only one that belongs to the same family since more than 100 years. Recently renovated very nicely.

The hotel is stunning, fantastic food and friendly staff.
