Foodies rejoice!!
If you’re looking for authentic Turkish food, go to the Asian side of Istanbul! Definitely make a stop at Oz Bolu and sample their top-notch fare in a very casual atmosphere. They have a wide variety of options, including vegetarian dishes.

This restaurant was a little different in the best way! Instead of looking at pictures on a menu, you go up to the counter where all the delicious choices are behind the glass and you go down the short lineup and point (if you don’t know what it is, like me!) to what you’d like to eat and they add a serving to a plate. Then you have a seat indoors or outdoors on the sidewalk tables and they bring out your food for you along with a basket of fresh bread.

The food is authentic and homestyle; the food on the European side isn’t even in the same league! I had the saray tavuk (palace chicken with bechamel on top): AMAZING!!
Hamsi tava bulunur (cornmeal fried sardines) delicious!!

Service was friendly and patient, even though they were busy (I went around 11:30am), and their prices were fantastic! Much less than on the touristy European side.

This is a place called ‘the shopowners restaurant’ because the small business around it come to eat here everyday. It’s a type of restaurant you will find everywhere in turkey.

The restaurant has a wide variety of Turkish dishes you won’t find in a kebab house. It provides soups, light and heavy dishes and it is very delicious.

If you’d wanna get a feeling for the food, my wife describes it as heartwarming house food.

Adding to the good food, the personnel is very nice and welcoming.

For an authentic feeling of the country’s food culture, just come here and dive into the menu.

A tea on the house after the food will also give you time to fully indulge and appreciate what your stomach just got.

Traditional Turkish home food. Excellent service by the team and great quality and variety of home food. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely visit again.

Its a very delicious restaurant that serves food similar to home made food , meat is fresh and tasty , recommended for a tasty and heavy meal .

A small restaurant in shopping center of Üsküdar district. I was suprised to hear about their tastes, quality and service. I visited to test if they were really able to compete the most known restaurant in their neighborhood, "Kanaat Lokantası".
I should say they can really compete with "Kanaat Lokantası",with the quality/taste of food and their service is also good. And prices seem to be much better.
