Well worth a visit if you're in Marmaris. A quaint small castle with a few interesting museum rooms, which have lots of exhibits dating back hundreds, even thousands of years. Well laid out and the exhibits / information boards are in English as well as Turkish. There are some nice views of the bay from the top, was under £5 per person to get in, so good value for money as well. Much better than than the Lindos Acropolis, not to mention cheaper!

It’s very pretty up there. Not many people, not a big place. Get water with you on a hot day. Tickets are pretty cheap

Lovely little castle with a small museum, good for 100TL. No queues and not overly busy.
It's an archeology museum so mostly Greek, roman pieces.

Small museum in an ottoman castle. There are interesting pieces and I found quite fascinating how there were different amphoras shapes depending on the city they came from. I think most of the people visit because of the nice views.

Great place to visit.
Not huge, so interesting even with kids.
Very nicely looked after.
Fantastic views from the top and the balustrade.
Definitely worth the walk up through the narrow streets behind the marina, just follow the signage from the promenade around to the right between the shops and cafes and keep going up.

Note: the steps to go up to the top, once inside are of varying heights so are uneven and quite steep in some places. Check if it's suitable if you have any walking difficulties.

Really nice small castle.
Its a shame they let the buildings be build that close to it, you are literally look into plates of the naibours of the castle. View is still nice though.

Large outer walls with a town within. Unfortunately, it is very expensive to purchase goods and food, but it is worth a visit for the architectural side

If you like amphoras you're gonna love it here because there's a ton of them on display in various states of repair. There's also a load of busted statues to look at with bits of stone lying about on the ground which look like they may have once formed a part of a statue before it got smashed up.
Plus, there's a great view over the bay if you have the strength to climb the stairs in the intense heat which nine out of ten per cent of us did.
The sweat was pouring off me in thick greasy rivulets, flowing freely down the insides of my arms, as I climbed the stairs to the viewing decks. It was worth being soaked in my own fetid perspiration for the rest of the day to see that view, though. Cor! It went from the sky right down to the sea and also from my left completely across to the right. In fact, I would say the view was totally bicredulous and variluminoid in its effect.
Miss this at your peril.

Didn't need to wait to buy tickets. Not very crowded in April 2023 . It was lovely visit with a lot of interesting archaeological displays predating Romans. The castle and surrounding view is breathtaking! Represents the old Marmaris with the Mediterranean stone paths. Good place to visit and a stone's throw from the Grand Bazaar, back alley ways filled with cute restaurants, shops, bakeries which lead into Marmaris Town centre

Well worth a visit , a really well presented and well maintained castle , everything is well laid out and sign posted , the inside rooms are air conditioned.
The entry fee is 50 Turkish Lira per person (aprox £2.50) and the castle is perfectly positioned in the old town.
