5 star is an underestimate, this place truly is the best place Marmaris, probably the whole of Turkey. You are looked after from start to finish, and the food is so authentic, so flavoursome, each fish we tried was amazing! If my stomach could allow it, I'd have eaten more 😊 thank you to all the staff, I'll be back soon

One of the best places we dined in. The place is perfection due to the fresh meat and the presentation. The friendly service. The amount of food was over the top and we weren’t complaining about that since we love to eat large portions. The bathroom was clean and that’s a major plus for us. The highlight was of course. The baklava with super thick ice cream which you need a knife to cut. I got the Turkish tea and my husband got the tradition Turkish coffee. The freshest hummus with I believe pieces of meat on top! Nice touch. We are obsessed with the lentíl soup.

Very good flavourful food, nice variety of things on the menu. The liver kebabs were particularly good. The service was also very attentive.

Great food at Memedocakbasi. We were recommended to this place by one of the tour operators at the hotel. Enroute there in in a random taxi we got from outside our hotel I asked the driver about the venue and was pleased to hear that he said it’s the best in Marmaris. Their appetisers were great and lovely to nibble on while we waited for the mains. We went for the mixed grill x2 to share between us all. The meats were all grilled to perfection. My faves were the lamb chops and the chicken wings! Service was second to none. From walking in off the street with no notice, we were seated instantly. There was a steady flow of customers which was impressive considering we were at the end of the tourist season. The waiters couldn’t do enough for us. A nice touch was the friendly parrot hanging around on its perch and how it loved its picture being taken with guests. Next time we’re in Marmaris, I’d definitely visit here again.

This restaurant unbelievably outstanding and every dishes are super good taste from starts to end we enjoyed a lot. Normally you find few dishes are great and some you may not satisfy but this place is really different as we didn’t expect it the taste wise superb foods and desserts also wine too. Nice people of staffs and very care customary. We thank it was really nice evening with myself and other best mates at this restaurant.

Superior food quality, super friendly service! Just here in Marmaris for the day, and while walking to the Bazaar from the port, we passed this restaurant. I’m so impressed! All of the staff were so friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and nicely decorated.

Best food I have had in Turkey by mile. Flavours were on point, ice cream was delicious, and the service was brilliant.

They even brought the parrot out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars for Memed Ocakbasi in Marmaris! This hidden gem, away from the touristy areas, is a local favorite. They welcomed us with delicious Turkish bread and an array of flavorful meze. The staff was incredibly friendly and even treated us to a complimentary dessert. The aroma of the charcoal grill adds to the delightful atmosphere. We enjoyed a fantastic meal, including pide and lahmacun, at an unbelievably affordable price compared to most restaurants in Marmaris. Don't miss this gem if you're in town for authentic Turkish cuisine. And the dessert, katmer with ice cream, was an absolute delight! 😋🍽🇹🇷

Just got back from our holiday in Marmaris, Turkey.
We wanted authentic traditional Turkish food and was recommended this place by a local.
Omg it was the best food from start to finish. Cumhur’s service was second to none. He was worried about him not speaking English but he was just perfect. We had to wait 15min to be seated but that did not matter as we could see how busy they were and to see a lot of locals here made us feel we had chosen the right place. Food was quick and the taste was divine. We asked for the bill after our mains but they said no, 15mins!
This meant them bringing out Turkish tea, coffee, fruit and the best baklava we’ve ever tasted. All on the house. There is no way you’d get this kind of service in the UK. I cannot rate this place enough. And to top it off the bill was so cheap at just £77 for four of us with alcohol. The same meal in England would’ve been over double at our local and nowhere near as nice.
If we return to Marmaris then we will be returning to this restaurant. Thank you Cumhur for an amazing experience. Keep up the good food and service. All the best 😊

What can I say, this is probably one of the best restaurants in town. Basically everything on their menu tastes incredible. They even serve a round of appetisers on the house. A lot of restaurants in the tourist area take the same or more for way less and worse food. It is definitely worth the walk.

This restaurant is beautiful! Service incredible and food tasty! We didn’t order any desserts, but waiter brought watermelon anyway on the house☺ We had plenty of starters, main and bread. Everything was fresh and tasty!

Perfect place to eat Turkish food! Delicious, reasonable prices, peaceful atmosphere, service is also great, free parking. Kids were happy to see parrot, turtles and fish there. Strongly recommend!

Delicious and not too pricey. Adana kebab - not too dry, not too moist. Kunafe - interesting dessert (baked cheese with sugar or honey). And welcomming meze (appetizers) also were good :)

Very welcoming, kind, helpful staff who speak English. Restaurant is located outside the touristic area, in a quiet neighborhood. They think along with your preferences for diner. The food was delicious. We ate here for 3 hours and had an amazing Turkish night.

The food was great, the prices were good, but what made it a 5 star for me was the service. Enayat, who served us, was friendly helpful, attentive, and spoke English. The owner is lucky to have him!

One of he most delicious and amazing place, very good and friendly service. Food is served fast and in a very presentable way. Would visit two and three times moree.

Recommend to me by a local. Food was amazing and of a very high standard. Prices are very reasonable. Mix grill was one of the best I've tried in Marmaris.

I visited because I was recommended by a local person. It is located a little away from the tourist attraction, and most of the guests were Turks. All the food was fantastic and the employees were all too kind. It's a restaurant I want to visit again anytime. I highly recommend it.
