The Zal Mahmud Pasha Mosque (Turkish: Zal Mahmut Paşa Camii) is located in Eyup Sultan District, near Tomb of Hazrat Abu Darda (RA).
The Zal Mahmud Pasha Mosque is a 16th-century Ottoman mosque located in the Eyüp district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was designed by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan and completed in 1590.
The building of the mosque was jointly endowed by Shahsultan and her second husband, the Bosnian born vizier, Zal Mahmud Pasha. Both had died in 1577. Shahsultan was one of the daughters of the sultan Selim II and his wife Nurbanu Sultan. After the death of Shahsultan's first husband in 1574 she married Zal Mahmud Pasha who in 1553 under Suleiman I's orders had strangled Şehzade Mustafa, a half-brother of Selim II and Suleiman's eldest son.

Zal Mahmut is from Bosnia. It was brought to the enderuna by being recruited and trained. “He was given the name of zal and rank and atiye in 960 (1553) in return for his determined service to Suleiman the Magnificent.” The great service that the historian says is the strangulation of Şehzade Mustafa, the eldest son of Kanuni. Mahmud Pasha had this work done by himself or by those around him. He became a vizier in 975 (1567) and in 980 (1572) II. He married Selim's daughter Shah Sultan. He and his wife fell ill in one day in 988 Shaban (September 1580) and died. This situation has been interpreted as the greatness of the love between them. For Peçevi Mustafa Efendi Zal Mahmud Pasha; “He was a middle man in justice and generosity. He had value among his peers.” says. The Sicilian Osmani writer; “She was a sage, loyal and hardworking,” he writes. Pasha has a magnificent mosque, madrasah and tomb built by Mimar Sinan in Eyüpsultan. The tomb was built together with the mosque in 1577. The date deducted for this is in Persian and is as follows: Hatif begüft ü history haza maqam Mahmud
