Beautiful, beautiful!

Ortakoy mosque was built on the order of Abdulmecid in the 1800s at the waterside of the Ortakoy pier square. It is one of the most popular locations on the Bosporus l.

I recommend going after sunset. The masjid is beautifully illuminated and very eye-catching.

You will find a lot of ice cream and fruit salads on your way to the mosque. You can buy the food and enjoy sitting on the bank of Bosporus.

Beautiful area. You can see the mosque sitting next to the waters. The mosque is small in size but the area is just beautiful. There are many restaurants and a few coffee shops in the area some of which are overlooking the water.

Beautiful and different mosque located in Ortaköy (Beşiktaş). To visit it you need to take a boat to Ortaköy. But it is possible to see it from the outside during the tour of the Bosphorus

small but very nice mosque in Besiktas. There is a wonderful view on Bosphorus bridge. Entrance is free and you can visit it during opening hours except of praying time. Near the mosque is the square with lot of food kiosk - especially famous filled potatoes (you can choose what you want in the big potato), waffles and icecreams.

The Ortaköy Camii has to have one of the most beautiful place to take photos of all of the Istanbul mosques. With the bridge in the background and Bosporus, this mosque looks even more beautiful.
If you want to go inside, entrance is free and there is no waiting. You also can borrow a hijab (for free) if you don’t have one (it is required to wear while inside).
I love it! It has beautiful architecture. It’s small when compared to other mosques in Istanbul, but is still elegant and beautiful.

It is a beautiful mosque a little bit smaller than all other mosques in Istanbul . The area around it is very vibrant ,full of people and shops. You can go on a Busphorus cruise from there for an hour for 200 tl. I highly recommend the 8 p.m one .The secene of Kumpir sellers yelling and calling for people to buy is something every visitor should see

Ortakoy Mosque is a stunning example of Ottoman architecture, located on the edge of the Bosphorus. Its elegant dome, slender minarets, and intricate carvings make it a perfect subject for photography. The mosque also offers a breathtaking view of the sea, the bridge, and the city skyline. Ortakoy Mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a symbol of Istanbul’s beauty and diversity.

Büyük Mecidiye Camii, also known as the Dolmabahçe Mosque, is a magnificent and historically significant mosque located in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, Turkey. As a tourist guide, let me take you on a virtual tour of this remarkable architectural gem:

**History:**
Büyük Mecidiye Camii was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid I and designed by the renowned Ottoman architect Garabet Balyan. Construction began in 1853 and was completed in 1855. The mosque's name, Büyük Mecidiye, honors the sultan, and it is located on the grounds of the Dolmabahçe Palace, the grandiose residence of the Ottoman Sultans during the late 19th century.

**Location:**
Situated right on the Bosphorus waterfront, Büyük Mecidiye Camii offers breathtaking views of the Bosporus Strait and the Asian side of Istanbul. Its prime location makes it a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike.

**Architecture:**
The mosque's architectural style is a mix of Ottoman and Neoclassical elements, reflecting the transitional period in which it was built. It features a grand central dome flanked by semi-domes, intricate calligraphy, and stunning marble columns. The interior is adorned with exquisite Iznik tiles, and the impressive chandeliers add a touch of grandeur to the space.

**Dolmabahçe Palace Influence:**
The mosque's design was influenced by the nearby Dolmabahçe Palace, and this is evident in its opulent interior and exterior details. The mosque's beauty complements the grandeur of the palace, and together they create a harmonious architectural ensemble.

**Visiting the Mosque:**
Visitors are welcome to enter the mosque outside of prayer times. Be sure to dress modestly and remove your shoes before entering. It's recommended to visit during non-prayer times to fully appreciate the mosque's beauty and take photographs. As you explore the mosque, pay close attention to the intricate tilework and the stunning mihrab (prayer niche) at the front of the prayer hall.

**Bosphorus Views:**
After your visit, don't forget to take a leisurely stroll along the Bosphorus waterfront. The mosque's location offers some of the most picturesque views of the strait, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing walk and photo opportunities.

**Visitor Tips:**
- Check the mosque's opening hours as they may vary.
- Modest dress is required; scarves and long skirts or pants are provided for women at the entrance.
- Remember to be respectful and quiet while inside the mosque.
- Photography is allowed, but be mindful of the worshippers and maintain decorum.

Büyük Mecidiye Camii is not only a place of worship but also a historical and architectural treasure that provides insight into the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire. A visit to this mosque offers a fascinating blend of history, culture, and stunning views, making it a must-see destination for any traveler exploring Istanbul.
