Selvese Collection Hotel Galata 1875

We had a great stay here; perfect location right in the middle of Beyoglu and easy to access so much of the city. We particularly appreciated the ability to quickly hop on mass transit and get around the city. We also enjoyed its closeness to some interesting streets filled with local artisans and the proximity of good, quick food options.

Our room had a wonderful balcony for enjoying a morning coffee or evening tea, surveilling the quiet neighborhood and watching shops open or close for the day.

However, most notably, the service was above and beyond. We had to quickly relocate to this hotel due to a horrible experience at another hotel in the area, and they acted fast to help us get a room and get settled in for the night. Even more so, they offered recommendations and helped with reservations when we asked.

We were incredibly grateful for a nice place to stay with great service. We highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a hotel slightly off the beaten path with exceptional service.

the hotel is in a fantastic location, 2 minutes from Galata Tower, close to the tram stop and a maximum of 15 minutes of pleasant walking to get to the historic area. The room was spacious and clean, also equipped with a kitchen. Every day they provided us with water and coffee in the room that we could make in the kitchen provided. in addition the staff was very nice and helpful to us. we will definitely recommend this place

Stayed here for 6 nights with my wife and daughter. Great location, great staff and great room with 2 bedrooms and balcony. I live on the other side of the world but if I hope to visit Istanbul again one day. When I do this is where I will stay. No reason to look for anywhere else.

I spent an amazing 6 nights here and it couldn't have been better. By the way, I am a single female travelling Turkey on my own :)
5 minutes walk to the Galata tower and restaurants on your left. Walk another 10 minutes on your right you will come to the Galata Port where there are amazing places to have breakfast with a view.

The Hotel is amazing clean but the people who work there are awesome who helped me book some tours and have so many lovely advise to share to make my holiday fun

I am usually very critical on leaving positive feedbacks. But I can say without doubt we loved every bit of our stay at Selvese. We came with an infant and the apartment was perfect and child friendly. The staff was so helpful and kind.

The Turkish breakfast was excellent and the staff provided everyday day for us lactose free milk and gluten free breads. “Cenar”and Mehmet were excellent in their support. Great location, very close to most viewing spots.

Highly recommend you to come here family or couples!

Family of 4 we stayed here for 1 week, it was very comfortable. I loved our room, everything was perfect. No negatives at all.
All the staff are lovely and welcoming.
I would definitely recommend here, it's so central, 5mins walk to a tram stop, 7mins walk to a train station. Made travelling so easy.

Hotel Galata 1875 is perfectly located in the cozy and lively neighbourhood of Karaköy. Within walking distance you have lot's restaurants and various streets full of busy bars, local food & shops. And you're also close to the ferry's and the bridge to Eminönü / Sultanahmet, where all the 5 star monuments are. The staff is super friendly and helpful, rooms are very comfortable with your own kitchen and daily breakfast on your terrace.

Value for money is a 10/10

We stayed at Selvese Collection Hotel Galata 1875 in the 2nd week of August for 6 nights.
The location was perfect for us as it was close to Galata Tower, the new Galata Port and to Karakoy area. Not to mention it is a short tram ride away from the old city where the historic attractions are.
The hotel itself is quite unique, the room we had was clean and well maintained. The elevator was quite small but it wasn't an issue for us since we stayed on the 2nd floor. There isn't much of a view for our room but we did not mind since we were out most of the day exploring the beautiful Istanbul.
The Staff were amazing, very helpful and courteous. They speak very good English and took care of our needs. We even got to choose what kind of pillows we wanted in our room!
There are cafe's, bakeries and little restaurants next to the hotel and very unique shops as well.
We also booked the airport transfer ride through the hotel and the taxi driver was perfectly on time.
Thanks to the Staff for making our stay pleasant.

The price is very good comparing to the location and the condition of the hotel. We had a small kitchen where you could cook and eat, the staff was helpful and professional

Great staff! They were extremely helpful and accommodating! The room was spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Location is perfect, walking distance to Galata tower, Istiklal street and Korakoy. Many nice coffee shops around. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Everything was fantastic! The location was great, the room was nice and on top of that, the service was the best!
They cleaned our room every single day like it was the first day. The staff was extremely kind and always helpful in any way! But here is in detail all our experience during our 16 days stays.

LOCATION
The hotel is strategically positioned between Karakoy and Galata. 5 mins walk to Galata Tower and 7-8 mins walk to the Galata bridge. It was close to a metro station as well, but to be honest, we like to walk and we always walked in 15 days without never taking any metro.
It's so well connected that all the major attraction are 20-25 mins walking distance.

STAFF
I've been to a lot of places and this was one of the best if not the best staff I've ever met. They're all young guys, in the 20-30's and they're all extremely kind and helpful. We usually talked through WhatsApp because was the easiest method for the both parties and also because they always answered our questions within minutes.
They also offer laundry service (for a fee).

Room/Hotel
The hotel itself is an old building as you might imagine from the name, but the rooms are well renovated.
Our room had basically EVERYTHING including a little kitchen area and a small balcony. The room itself was small, but it was so well organized that it didn't feel like it. If you take a look at the pictures, it seems to be bigger than it actually is.
If you're planning to see Netflix, make sure to bring an Android TV or maybe an HDMI cable to connect it to your PC because the tv was not smart (not sure if all the TVs are the same though).
One downside, maybe the only one, was that the rooms are not soundproofed.

Perfect position, close to galata tower, istiklal caddesi, Tophane tram station and the amazing cruise waterfront port. Very helpful staff. We had a misunderstanding during the booking process but they have arranged everything perfectly with an extra service free of charge.
If I come back to Istanbul I’ll stay here again.

The new staff is very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and the hotel is very close to all the fun things to do in the new section of town. Just a short walk to the train (T1). And you can go anywhere from there. Local shops and restaurants are great.

Great location, walking distance to Karakoy, Galata and Istiklal. Our cat was allowed to stay with us. The room is big and comfortable. All the amenities are available from soap to kitchen tissues. Good value for money!

Very nice accommodation in Beyoglu/ Istanbul near Galata tower. We definitely recommend. 24/7 you have an concierge at the front desk. They're super polite und friendly and help you with your needs - just ask :-). All the best from Germany to you and your business.

very interesting grandpa shop in town selling all sorts of surveniors for very good price. products items are not organized with smart presentation and spreading around in store like treasure hunting. the shop owner doesnt speak english but friendly genuinely and honest. dont need to ask for deal, the price is the oldest in town if you cam find your item in the store.
