Pick up the phone, bro! It's so bad, it's good=) I don't like Star Wars, and I don't know anything about Turkish cinema. But! After visiting the museum, I decided to change that. And here's the first good news! A large collection of cameras and projectors, lots of movie clips. Top-notch! I don't even like Star Wars much. But, it's just incredible, the cheap models in a wild setting! It will be incredibly interesting for all fans. In summary: a good non-Greek-Roman museum, old rarities, the history of cinema. It will be interesting for older children (8-14). I recommend it after the tower.

Nowadays, there is an exhibition of Star Wars on the upper floor called "Fans of The Galaxy". Apart from this, the Istanbul Cinema Museum sheds tremendous light on Turkish Cinema, known as Turkey's "Green Glass". My advice is to go one day during the day, not 2-3 hours. to both the Cinema Museum and Star Wars because there is so much content. You can visit it in 2 hours, but you won't enjoy it.

After the renovations, this place has turned into a must-see must-visit spot for anyone who loves movies. Make sure that you have enough time to explore the permanent collection which houses historical cinema related items such as projectors, scripts, cameras etc. Don't forget to visit the temporary exhibition which at the time of my visit had the Stanley Kubrick collection. Amazing!

Amazing film museum! On the 1st and 2nd floors there are permanent exhibitions about the history of cinema and Turkish cinema. On the 3rd and 4th floors there are new exhibitions every season.

I visited the Steve Mcurry exhibition. The building reminds you of classic architecture.

Must visit place if you are around! Not only great for cinema enthusiasts but also for people who enjoy creative content and art in an amazing setting. Even if I am not a cinema fan, I have enjoyed the highly creative content & amazing presentation about Turkish cinema as well as the incredible collection of cinematic equipments showing different eras of cinema. While the museum content was great, the magnificent historical building with its stairs, high ceilings and stunning murals on these ceiling were even better. You will be surprised to learn these murals are art of Berteaux, a famous french painter who were also the painter of Sultan Abdulaziz between 1872-1875. Overall a great place designed with extraordinary efforts of great people.

Absolutely loved this museum. I experienced the Stanley Kubrick event and it was breath-taking. There were around 900 pieces of materials and clothes and devices Kubrick used back in his day. Definitely a must visit.

Great if you love Turkish Cinema. Cool if you're a big fan of antique equipment. Not great for kids except for the shadow puppet interactive digital screen.

Beautiful museum! Highly recommend it. One suggestion, they would make a lot more money if there was a gift shop that sold the posters for the old movies you can see in the museum.
