Last Ottoman Cafe & Restaurant

My husband and I opted for this restaurant for my birthday dinner over a more “fancy” restaurant that we had originally reserved. I’m so glad we did. After a very long day of touring, we were so happy to find a cozy restaurant serving traditional Turkish fare. The ambiance is very comfortable, warm and friendly. The staff were very attentive, but never pushy. The food was excellent. It may seem touristy from the outside, but the vibe was really pleasant. It is in a tourist location, so it is impossible to avoid good restaurants that don’t attract lots of tourists. I got the sense that locals enjoy this place as much as non-locals. We ordered the appetizer sampler, an excellent bottle of Turkish wine and the clay pot chicken. Everything was delicious. They bring a lentil soup as a complementary starter, and it was absolutely perfect. I assumed it would be a bit boring, and I was wrong. It was packed with flavor.

We found the restaurant through AI recommendations, we looked at the reviews and thought it was worth a try.

The food is amazing! We ordered a lot for 2 people. My husband also had his shisha pot. The owner & staffs are nice and helpful.

We spent around €55 and we ate like a king! An absolute enjoyable night for us.

This was such a great restaurant! Everything was delicious and the ambiance was wonderful. The lentil soup starter was delicious, and the lamb and vegetarian dishes were great. Our waiter, Burhan, was so nice and made great recommendations for food and wine. We would definitely come back if we're in Istanbul again.

Amazing food! Very kind and nice service! A chill atmosphere.. for an area that is very touristy it was a great choice! We spent $35 for a complete dinner for 2. We ordered a Adana Kebap and a Lamb in Casserole. Portions where great! They also bring you a complementary lentil soup with bread to start, and a dessert with tea at the end.

Emra - was our host today, and he made us extremely welcome while we came here to enjoy our dinner. So much so that we had to come here twice.

The food was unbelievably tasty, and given the fact I have been to Istanbul several times and always complain that the food is always a bit useless. It was nice to find a place Finally that I really enjoyed both the experience and the food!!

The whole experience was amazing, and I think the whole team here at the last Ottoman! We ordered a chicken Iskander and requested that be made with chicken sheesh rather than chicken Donner and they happily accommodated it.

Days later I must return to this restaurant and leave a review: the food was simply phenomenal, I’ve traveled a lot around the world and there is certainly in my top ten. What an incredible experience.

We had an incredible dinner at Last Ottoman! The meze plate was fantastic. They also were super sweet to my young children - especially accommodating one request for my picky eater. We also had a great conversation with one of the owners, who recommended things for us since it was our first time in Istanbul. Pictured are the meze plate and the chicken sish.

Loved it … they had a wood stove in the lobby between the outside part & main restaurant… had to open the door in March as sweating! 🥵 , had chicken linguine, & lovely vegetable lentil 🌽 soup which is free ! 😃, was a birthday 🎂 party going on … fun & lively … child friendly

I decided to visit this place after reading good reviews about it on Google. It was surprisingly empty, maybe cause it was around 2pm+. Anyway, I sat down and was given the menu. Ordered soup of the day which was lentil soup and the Shepherd's Roasted. Ordered a Turkish tea as well. I expected the lentil soup to be bland since, well, it is lentil afterall but boy, was I wrong! It was rich in flavour, a pleasant mix of spices and amazingly yummy! The Shepherd's Roasted took awhile to arrive and it was good too! Flavourful with tender beef, just hits the right spot. The meal ended with another cup of tea and baklava on the house 😁. When it was time to pay, I noticed the bill did not include the soup. When I asked, the staff whom I assume is the manager said it was on the house. Great service from the start, I guess this is the Turkish hospitality. Much recommended to try the food here!

Amazing staff, they looked after me like family. Service was fast and the food was amazing. Ambience also is a plus. Will come back 👍🏼

Lovely place for good food and atmosphere in Istanbul! The food was very tasty and the service was superb. Great presentation and the waiters were very friendly and sociable.

Got complementary soup & bread while waiting for my main course, free refills on delicious tea and complementary baklava as dessert. Will eat here again when I return to Istanbul for sure!

Everything perfect!!! Food with an amazing taste. Waiters very friendly and respectful. Good atmosphere. They presented a free soup and a dessert from the chef as a special attention. The best place to spend a good moment and enjoy the best food.

Came here for a quick solo dinner and I’m very happy with my experience.

Firstly, I’m vegetarian and this cafe had several options for me.
Secondly, the staff were so warm and friendly! Furthermore, I got complimentary soup, bread, and dessert without even asking for them.
Finally, the food was amazing. I ordered the vegetable casserole and it was cooked to perfection.

Staff will give you a warm welcome once you enter their restaurant. They want you to feel a special guest at their own home.
I would recommend this place anyone who is visiting Istanbul.
Prices are fair and food is delicious.

We visited this place for lunch after our visit to Topkapi Palace. This place lived up-to its review. The service was just too good. they served us soup, Turkish Cay, Baklava as complimentary dishes. Our dishes also tasted pretty good. The environment was welcoming and staff was really nice. It was a great treat.
