Istanbul Railway Museum

A really nice way to spend the afternoon. Free to enter. I’m not even a train person and I really loved learning about the history of trains both in Europe and in Turkey. They have an audio guide you can download onto your phone and it was very good. I stayed there for an hour listening to the whole thing. This station is at the end of the Orient Express so any Agatha Christie fans will enjoy learning more about its history. They even have an old train right in the front your kids can play on. Afterwards I recommend visiting the Orient Express cafe and grabbing a tea or coffee.

It’s cute , small but rich of informations and and next to the Orient Express station. Part of the station is currently under renovation . Taking a coffe at the bar between the rail where the Orient Express use to depart/ arrive and the waiting room where thousands of passengers used to wait before starting their journey,it was priceless. It wasn’t busy at all and I felt like we discovered a little gem in a Istanbul .

For fans. Verry small jut cosy. One room in the otigonal Orient Express railwaystation. Even the old silver Chsmpagnecooler are there. Free entry.

Great museum to learn all about the train that once connected Asia (through Istanbuk) to modern day Paris. The museum hosts a massive collection of antique pieces and models of train tracks and routes. Highly recommended. A person is also available to answer any inquires for free.

Small, free museum. Not a lot to see, but definitely worth a 10 min stroll. It's free! Highlight: artifacts from the Orient Express.

Beautiful old station.

And free to visit and sit and tek a pictures
And surly you can talk to how work ther an old wemon
She didn't no English so you to take some one now turkesh
She hae so much memories to talk with you and of course with turkesh tea

TCDD Istanbul Railway Museum is located Sirkeci Terminal and it opened to visit in 2005. There are 300 pieces cultural assest are shown in museum.Museum is open, avilable to free visit every day except Sunday, Monday and Islamic holiday.

Very small museum with free admittance. Mostly Orient Express related exhibit, but be prepared it's mostly described in Turkish only, and it has feel of a lapidary. Some exhibited items are kinda random.

The audio tour is unusually excellent. Bring your own headphones. We spent at least an hour thoroughly enjoying this slice of history. And it’s completely free.

I agree with others who said that this museum is very small. But it’s so cute! And its very interesting. If you are not far from railway station visit this place. Moreover it’s for free.

Small museum with great exibits that get you in the mood of traveling with orient express. The lady there was very polite. It is for free. There was also a cat in it, I loved it! You have to visit it to feel the atmosphere of the past.
