Beyazıt Tower

Expected good views of the city. Note, walk down, don't take the lift. It's well worth it

I had a chance to visit this wonderful place and took lots of photos. Hopefully one day they open up for tourists.

Beyazıt Tower is an old tower located in the University of Istanbul. It was recently used to check the weather conditions. It has become a tourist attraction in Istanbul.

Beyazıt Tower is a 85 meter high tower built in 1749 for the first time in the Beyazıt district of Istanbul in order to watch and report fires. Stairs leading up to the observation point consist of 180 steps.

It is currently equipped with lighting system to indicate weather conditions in different colors. Red colour means snow, blue—nice and clear weather, green—rain and yellow—fog.

The 360• view from the tower is just amazing. You can see from the top the amazing city of Istanbul, the streets, people, shops and many more eye catchy things.

You should go into the territory of the university to get to the tower.
