Wonderful place. Totally not about tricking tourists. Quite the contrary: we got decent prices, real freshly made, tasty food. The ambiance and music is really relaxing and soothing. The service is very nice and friendly. Best food experience in Istanbul so far.

We ate here towards the end of our week in Istanbul and were not disappointed. This is good, honest food and the staff team of brothers and chef were courteous and hardworking.

The decor looks a bit tired and dated and perhaps needs a little attention/tidy up.

Please give them a visit, understated and not trying to lure you in, you’ll enjoy a lovely meal here. If I hadn’t wolfed it down so quick I would have taken photos!

Tarihi Cesme tucked in a quiet street its easy to missed this restaurant! The food is delicious - we ordered mix grilled meat to dine and take the chicken grill to go. The taste is fantastic, the service is very good as well. The place is really nice - quiet and private after strolling around the buzzing area of Sultanahmet and surrounding. Overall, loved it!

We made the 1km walk to Tarihi Ceseme and it was definitely worth the relaxing and interesting stroll. The food was full of flavour, great service and a nice corner to just watch all the locals go about their business.
