American Hospital

Very very helpful in assisting what we needed. One of the few hospitals in the area that actually had what we needed --but decided to not get it for now. I didn't actually visit The hospital in person, but three times on the phone: VERY HELPFUL-- very professional. Reccomended. Thank you.

During my trip to Turkey, I unfortunately fell ill with the flu and became quite dehydrated. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional care I received at American Hospital in Istanbul. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and health, providing me with the necessary fluids and medical attention in a timely manner. The facility itself was very clean and well-maintained, and the staff displayed a high level of professionalism and genuine care. I would highly recommend American Hospital to anyone in need of medical attention in Istanbul, and to top it off, the costs were much more affordable compared to what one would pay in America. I am extremely grateful to American Hospital for taking such good care of me during my time of need.

On a recent trip to Istanbul, I fell and fractured my hip. The staff of the hotel where I was staying took me and my wife to the American Hospital, where I received exceptional care. The skill and personal attention by the doctors and the entire staff of the hospital was remarkable in every way. My surgery for a full hip replacement was very successful as well as the excellent rehab given to me. My wife and I were tremendously impressed by the high quality of the services and facilities at this hospital and even more by the professionalism and genuine concern of the people who work there. A colleague recommended American Hospital here in Istanbul when I fell ill and needed emergency care. The treatment I got at this hospital was beyond expectations, especially for an emergency room! I was fortunate to not only be placed in a room and seen immediately, but also to have been treated by Dr. Bahaeddin Onur. I ended up visiting the hospital and Dr. Bahaeddin three times, along with the nice team there, and was in touch with the doctor via WhatsApp for check-ins as well, and highly recommend him for his excellent bedside manner, care and communication throughout, as well as the team there who were efficient in getting me seen, prepped and helping me throughout a particularly rough time. While my reason for having to go to the emergency room was not a pleasant one, I'm glad I found myself here as I felt I was in good hands entire time. Quite the exceptional team here, and also the facilities were all very clean and well taken care of!

My appointment at American Hospital went by pretty fast and smooth. The nurses were nice, compassionate and patient. They helped with My questions and concerns. They explained all procedures thoroughly. They helped me out with finance assistance programs and other programs as well. Thanks to God.

My experience with the Hospital and its physicians is usually pretty excellent. I always do my homework on the doctors before making any appointments. The staff is ok, too; they’re not super attentive, but they do what they need to do; but then again, in Turkey, in most places except restaurants, hotels, etc., the staff is almost always the same. I’m originally from Turkey, so I can speak Turkish, but I also live in the States; of course, I can’t talk on behalf of non-Turkish-speaking patients and their experiences, but in my opinion, the hospital is way better than most US hospitals I’ve been to, and the prices are very high indeed. Still, if you don’t have any insurance back in the States, you’re screwed as well; they’re not that different than the American Hospital in Istanbul, if not more expensive.

I live in the US and I have been to many hospitals. This is very similar service level as the US and really better than the US in some aspects.

As for cost, I can’t speak to how this hospital is compared to other local Turkish hospitals, but comparing this to the U.S. it’s not even close.

I went to the ER for my 7-year old son and paid the bill myself since we couldn’t use our insurance in Turkey. I would've paid 20x the amount at a US hospital for the same service. So by US standards, this is really cheap ( again not comparing to other Turkish hospitals).

Overall, we had the best ER experience given the circumstances.

I called and got to see a doctor the next day early in the morning. The staff are really nice, they speak English and Turkish very well. The service was incredible. It is expensive, however, it’s justified by the professional work. The pharmacy is right across the hospital so it’s easy to get prescriptions. Would suggest for locals and for foreigners who don’t speak Turkish.

When I read the comments on pricing the foreigners more than the citizens, I laugh really heard because citizens pay taxes and get into mandatory health insurance, which pays some part of the hospitalization bills. Of course they are expected to pay less as the government generally takes care of some part of it... bruh, grow up and stop complaining over the things you try to make up since you could not find anything else to complain about...

We got an appointment within two hours with a doctor from the internal medicine department were delighted with the very professional and efficient service from the beginning to the end. We really felt in good hands and wouldn't hesitate to go back to the American Hospital.

After all the Hardships I would like to thank the Staff from the American Istanbul Hospital, especially professor Doctor Nil Molina and Doctor Metin Havza whose Empathy and Professionalism help me as soon possible in my recovery.
At the same time I would also like to thank Translator and Organiser Miss Alina Ghica who when necessary stands by me day and night.

This is the best hospital!! The staff- from nurse to medical doctors all professionals as well as very friendly and helpful with patient!! The hospital is very neat and efficient !! The nurse are always helpful; they go to the extent of opening doors for patient!! The cost is very reasonable!! I fully recommend for everyone!!! Keep on moving!! Thanks very much

I’ve gone to this hospital three times for PCR tests. I was surprised with how efficient and organized their PCR procedure is. They have a dedicated area one floor down near the elevators. The girls that work at the desk aren’t very friendly and can be curt, but they speak English and they explain the process for what you need to do. The cost is 250 lira. Bring your passport. After you fill out the form, they will eventually call you to get swabbed. Waiting to be swabbed can take awhile if there are already a lot of people. The most I waited was about an hour, the second time ten minutes, the third time about 15 minutes. The actual swabbing of your nose takes maybe a couple minutes. And you’re done. The nurses are friendly. You get a barcode number and they show you the website to go to view your results after the sample is tested. Each time my tests were finished by the end of the day (I checked after 6pm) and I could go online and view the reports and download a pdf copy. I always completed my PCR swabs before noon. It was all very easy thankfully.

It is one of the best Hospitals in Istanbul (even in Turkey) with a very good staff and high technological equipment.

I had to go and see about a suspected blood clot in my leg. I cannot speak more highly of the hospital staff and dr murat aksoy that i saw. Professional friendly accommodating and so helpful made an emergency appointment at 10.00am saw the Dr at 1.30pm, consultation, blood test, ultrasound and results all witin 3 hours Nothing was a bother. If you need to see a doctor or go to the hospital this is the one i cant recommend it highly enough.

All hospitals at this category are quite similar. The difference is this one is more compact and makes you feel good.

I became incredibly sick while traveling in rural Turkey - could barely walk, could hardly breathe, fever through the roof. Ended up wandering around late at night by myself, and someone sent me here. Excellent rapid care, with doctors who very quickly diagnosed what I've since learned was a pretty rare lung infection. And, yes, while it's probably expensive as compared to other hospitals in Istanbul, the cost of care for all of the scans I got was SO MUCH LOWER than it would have been in the US. Very grateful.

Comparing to all hospitals in Turkey this one is the best . Caring professional and expert Doctors and profs .
