Chanalai Flora Resort, Kata Beach - Phuket

We stayed 5 days. First Room was not OK, but they tried to fix problem and we got a new room, that was OK. After that they were very caring and asked us every day, if everything is allright. All in all rooms could need a renovation.

Location for Kata Beach is great.
Just across the street nice bike rent store, nice bars, laundry service (highly recommend, but not in Google Maps).

The Service and the Breakfast was awesome.

This is a destination resort. If you just want to settle in and relax, this place is for you. They have everything on site, and the location is also desirable in relation to the beach. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Happy hour, a good menu, and two pools. Buffet breakfast and super room service and cleaning service. A very good place to spend your Phuket holiday.

This Hotel was fabulous the breakfast in the morning had lots of different choices hot and cold. The staff always had a smile and were most concerned for are comfort. Spent alot of time by the pools which were beautifully clean, comfortable chairs umbrellas and happy hour twice a day with food avalable .
The only thing it was a 4 minutes to walk to the beach .

Conveniently located, our room on the highest floor was great, with a fantastic sea view. Also does very good thai cooking class within the hotel, run by chef Aoy. Great value and kids cook for free.

The location is very central, the rooms and the pools are in a very good state. But what makes the difference is the staff! They are all super kind, helpful and amazing! Their service was outstanding! Thank you so much!

We stayed here for just over a month for our transitioning moving to Phuket.
They became like our family.
Food is incredible, every morning they had my iced coffee ready when we ca.e down. I did the Thai cooking classes which I absolutely enjoyed and still implement now.
Ploy, James, Green, Amm, the whole team where just amazing.
For my birthday we came back to a surprise on my bed & then at dinner sang happy birthday with cake and candles.
Highly recommended staying here.

I booked this place because of the good reviews and I was not disappointed. The check in and check out was a breeze; the room was clean and had all the amenities one could ask for (safe, kettle, fridge, etc.) and more (umbrellas, hair dryer). The staff was helpful and kind; we booked an airport driver through them as well. The close proximity to the beach, and a nice cafe, Italian Job, was a bonus too. I can't speak about the hotel food as we haven't tried it, but it would have been nice to have some vegan options on the menu.

Overall though, great stay for an affordable/mid-range price.

Great facilities, clean and up to date. Staff were friendly and always available. Close to the beach, restaurants and the Main Street.

The room was nice but should be more insulated as I easily heard my neighbors talking. A lot of beautiful swimming pools if you like swimming. The atmosphere was nice clean and fresh. Breakfast was okay, with not a lot of options of Asian foods. Staff were friendly and kindly. In the last day of our stay, we received a beautiful thank you note with a bottle of champagne and a plate of delicious fruits which was really nice. If I was once again in Phuket, I definitely stay over there once again.

People are very nice and rooms are clean. Hotel is also a short walking distance from the beach.
They have a buffet dinner for only 340 baht and happy hour(s)...
BUT
Don't order pasta. It is really small portion.
Pizza is bigger and with paper-thin crust.
The sea here is pilluted with big oil stains. I am here fir the third day and nobody is trying to clean that. Plus Kata beach is also very dirty. Full of black stains (like tar) so be very carefull where you put your foot.

The accommodation was clean and the pool was small, so it was good for families to play.
The staff was friendly and made me feel good during my stay.
This place has the advantage of being able to go to Kata Beach on foot.

Lovely overall! Staff were super friendly and welcoming, and very on top of things. I even had in depth conversations with a staff member about their life and it really felt like I learned a lot. Check in was a breeze and my room was lovely. Location is absolutely excellent. Alcoholic drinks were all very very good, coffee was great too.

As far as food, it worked out to be about average. I had spicy stir fried pork with veg which was amazing, but the seafood equivalent was not great. I think perhaps seafood is not their speciality? I also had the eggs Benedict which were not very good at all, but the pad se ew was absolutely delicious. It's hit or miss with the food, but nothing was included in my stay so it was really easy to walk to any of the amazing restaurants nearby. There are many good ones, but I recommend spice by sugar and spice- yum.

I will mention, if you are not a fan of kids, this is not the place to go. Kids overtook the place and it definitely had very family-friendly vibes. Chanalai has an adults-only resort if this feels like something you want to avoid.

Overall, such a pleasant experience for such an affordable price. They go above and beyond!

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Just at the end of the Kata beach so isn’t busy but not a long walk. Would recommend!

Considerable size, two pools, restaurant. Spacious rooms, fridge, bathtub, and a separate shower. The building seems old but properly maintained. Furniture is a bit tired but still usable. Powerful A/C, wide balcony with two chairs and coffee table, clothes rack. Power plugs are of combined type, so the North American appliances can be plugged in directly. The TV is not big but has good channels. This is where the nice part ends.
There is only one night table, one chair for the desk, no sofa or armchair, no table. There are connecting (double!) doors for adjacent rooms that are perfect noise transmitters - we can hear everything spoken by our neighbors. When the TV goes on, seems like it is in our room, when someone takes shower – like it is in our bathroom. The front door is not better. There are the outside units for the A/C right in front of the door and you can hear constant humming of the power units. The bathroom has no ventilation. Also, nowhere to hang a towel near the sink, but there is a towel rack in the toilet?! Another one in the shower stall (to get wet from the shower I guess). The wardrobe with safe box is also in the bathroom…
The breakfast buffet has a good choice of food, and the staff is very polite and helpful. But do not expect to have a good coffee or tea, seems diluted with water, the teapot for 10 cups had 3 teabags in it... I even try to get a cappuccino that came more or less OK by taste but was lukewarm. The only coffee that was warm and drinkable was Americano. Housecleaning is slow, but the room is very clean. We still can’t figure out if we must put the sign out to ask for cleaning or there is a regular cleaning schedule. We left for the beach in the morning around 9 am and came back by 3:30 pm and the room was not cleaned yet. We will see if they will come later. Yes, they did come around 4 pm.

Great hotel just a short walk from the Kata beach. Big rooms. Has 2 pools and great service. Only downside is that there little too many steps to climb to reach some of the rooms.

This is rated as is for the budget resort category. My only serious complaint is that most of the good meat options at breakfast are gone by as early as 9 am. Beyond that, it's everything I needed. The staff are wonderful and raise the resort's quality significantly. They should be provided better coffee machines as I can see them struggling to keep up with what appears to be home devices intended for far lower volumes of coffee and milk throughput and so keep needing maintenance. Again, the staff are wonderful.

Wonderful experience staying , not exactly on the beach but very near . Rooms are nice big and staff is very supportive n friendly, clean n comfortable stay .
Pool experience was great .
You can find Indian restaurants exactly opposite to this so it become easy to get Indian options as well .
If you wish to eat Thai food hotel have good restaurants n taste as well .
Kids friendly pool option as well .

Wonderful Hotel!
My wife and I are staying here on our honeymoon and we couldn’t be more pleased! The staff is truly exceptional! Wonderful service. We don’t eat dairy and they went out of their way to make breakfast buffet items for us without milk. They also came multiple times to check up on us and made us some specialty drinks.
The happy hour here is all day and BOGO! Great deal!

Although the rooms we'd booked initially were not assigned to us, we were upgraded to a higher category of room. Thanks to Kemp / Ken (new guy). The property is exactly like the photos and the location is quite in the goldilocks zone, not too far from popular and not too close so less traffic. They also have free valet parking.

Cozy room with a balcony. Comfortable spacious bed and soft bed linen. The room has everything you need for living (toiletries, refrigerator, kettle, water/tea/coffee, safe). Daily cleaning!
The hotel has 2 swimming pools and lots of greenery (which is so important in this climate).
A delicious, varied breakfast.
