Chanalai Hillside Resort

The hotel is pretty close to the beach (maybe 5-10 min by foot). The room was pretty clean and the food is also quite good. The Thai Buffet is amazing. Sometimes it can be difficult to explain the staff, what you want. But unless this, they are really welcoming and friendly. Be aware, that the stars for the hotels in Thailand does not correspond with western critierias. But this hotel deserves its for stars. Only one criticism: the hallways are sometimes too hot, but I can understand this, because some parts are open and would be wasting of ressources to regulate the temperature.

Generally good. The room and pool are awesome. For room cleaning you need to remind personal , otherwise they 'forget' to make it done.

Not far from the beach. There is everything you need nearby. The rooms are decent. There are two pools.

Great service to the clients. I made an error on the dates with booking (wrong month) and in 24h hours their service did all the work to cancel the reservation.

My husband and I have been in this hotel now for two nights and we have two more to go, and it's amazing! The staff is so friendly! They are amazing. We are muslims and asked if they are okay with removing alcohol from the room, and they did! They also have a lot of halal options. When we went for breakfast the first time we asked them of they can clean the pan they cook the eggs in as it is also used for non-halal meat and they did. Not only that, the next morning they had a pan on the side for us. The hotel is very clean. We have a room with pool access, which is great. It's also very close to the beach. And using the app grab you can easilt go from one place to the other.

And I just have to say it again; the staff is amazing. So thoughtfull! A huge thanks to Nicky, Ice, Nong, Cindy, and the rest of the staff!!

Clean beautiful rooms at a perfect walking distance from downtown Karon and Karon Beach.

This resort had amazing customer service. The entire staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and room service was very prompt. This resort had 2 pools both very clean and kept in good condition. The WiFi in the room was also good. We were located a 5-7 min walk to the closet beach and market. Great restaurants and massage parlours located near by. I would highly recommend this resort.

This is a hotel that understand how to treat their guests right. Let me detail my experience: I arrived around noon to check in and was greeted by the receptionist enthusiastically. She offered me a mango ice cream cone (that is properly frozen and served in a chilled cup so the ice cream remains at the right temperature) and then followed by a cold drink while she prepared the paperwork. I knew it was going to be an issue to check in this early so I waited patiently. She came back after about 10 minutes and confirmed what I was expecting however she offered me a couple of towels and invited me to go to the pool area to wait. She also gave me a 20% off coupon for their restaurant so I can have lunch while the room is being prepared. I decided to have lunch. I ordered their lunch special which is the supreme burger with a beer for 300 bahts and the burger was very well prepared. I should mention that the wait staff were all extremely attentive. They gave me an ice cold towel to cool down when I sat down. That was a very nice touch. There is 10% SC included on the food bill automatically. I was able to check in 15 mins before 2pm. Upon entering my room I found it was neat and tidy. No complaint whatsoever.

Fabulous hotel! The service is good, room numbers are spare and clean, breakfasts are full of different food. The road to the seaside is nice, you are walking around the lake in the shadow of trees. Karon is clean also, even early in mornings, a little bit wavy, but beautiful and resonant. We like everything in this country❤

Satisfied with the service and hospitality. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Hotel location is near to beach side 10mins walkable from hotel. I will recommend everyone, please go with this hotel.

Well maintained resort with in 10 mins. of walking distance from Karon beach. Has two pools, one at ground floor and one at the roof top. Breakfast spread was huge and staff were courteous. Stayed at deluxe pool access room and would definitely recommend this if you are planning to stay in this area.

Awesome service! Walking distance from karon beach and karon food market! The breakfast spead is also big. The rooms were very clean and neatly kept. The best rooms are the sea facing ones and the ground floor ones with swimming pool access. Spend some money to bin the swimming pool access rooms, worth every penny! Currency exchange at the karon market give you best rates as of online (same as super rich) & do not go for the ones next door. If you book it directly on their website you get free drinks. Do not miss the roof top pool! Evening you have crafts & fruit carving sessions arranged. The rooms are mostly occupied by Russians very friendly crowd too.

Amazing! We were welcomed with juice and ice cream when we first got there. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The shower and bathroom were spacious and very nice. Both the ground floor and rooftop pool were very nice.

It was raining most of the time I was there. It was an awesome place to be stuck. Impeccable service, and great balcony to watch the rain.

Before writing the review, I must state here that I am a frequent traveller & Have witnessed quite some hospitality around the world. (and I criticize a lot LOL)
For me, Chanalai properties are a mirror to hospitality. That’s the reason I chose to stay at their hillside resort twice. February 2016 with whole family & in December 2018, with husband. They take care of my holidays in a very professional manner but yet with a personal touch. I’ve been to Thailand 5 times, hence have stayed in various properties. Moreover, I have noticed a certain amount of unwelcoming attitude or plastic smiles even at the most reputed properties or shops in Thailand but the whole hierarchy of Chanalai has a responsive & passionate attitude towards their guests….special Thanks to CEO Mr. Mazumdar, Orn & Waan , Mook (front desk) , Niki & Nong (managers). I specifically asked their names, coz I was impressed. They deserve the appreciation. They went out of their way to make my time the best even without asking them. The work culture that flows from the top branch to the lowest is worth learning from. They made my ‘just another vacation’ look like a honeymoon.
Cleanliness : Its very clean at all times. Rooms, pool areas, lobby, restaurant. A great care is being taken & room cleaning is available till very late as well. (I used to come back around late evenings at times). They provide more than enough pool n room towels.
Breakfast : The best part is the time which is so flexible. From 6 am to 11 am. That shows, they care about guests comfort. A decent buffet spread that I noticed, works with all nationalities. Great coffee & tea. Again, responsive staff.
Rooms : Noice couldn’t be noticed (even when I had a room facing the restaurant). Clean, decently spacious, enough lighting. Nice ambience. Bath tubs and all basic amenities available in rooms. Separate & spacious washrooms.
Prices : decent food & bar prices (comparatively). I found the tariff to be pretty decent after comparing the same type of properties in the area.
Hospitality : staff is closely connected and works in harmony. They value your time, comfort & privacy. Their priority seems to make you feel at home with luxury. Orn, waan, Nong, Mook, Niki Nong & other girls…I saw them playing with the guests’ kids during their breaks. I kept smiling for how they make them feel like family.
(I realized late but I did, they keep an eye on the kids in the pool without letting you know…I simply loved that.
Pool: 3 pools, 1 on 6th floor. 2 on ground (for kids & adults) . main pool is huge. Although I wish the depth was a little more but I guess they’ve made it that way for safety purposes. Chanalai propertys’ signature is what I like the best. The way they have built their pool n Jacuzzi spreading to the whole resort. plus the way the sun loungers are placed in the center
Proximity : to the beach is, 5 minutes walking. The area is posh, clean and developed by the govt very well (from the last time I went). Utility shops are just In front of the resort. According to me, renting bike is the best way to enjoy phuket. Bike renting shop is just in the front. Family mart, massage, swimming/beach items are in the front of entrance.
Ideal for : couples,friends families. (I noticed them all having fun during my stay)
All I can say is, there are indefinite properties in phuket alone but still looking frwrd to stay here & meet the staff again. You are doing a wonderful job. keep this passion & work culture alive. Best wishes.

We experienced a blackout due to the thunderstorm and they handled it with the upmost professionalism.
The manager, Waan, really tried to remedy the situation by offering us a complementary dinner and treated us with kindness.
Overall, Chanalai Hillside is clean, organized, and the staff was spectacular!

I highly recommend this hotel and I'm very happy with my stay here.

We stayed here 11nts and couldn't have asked for more: it's clean, it's attractive and it's well situated in the more quiet district of Phuket.

Bus links into livelier areas are close by but Karon is great for beautiful, sandy beaches and plenty of bars and restaurants. Karon temple market is also very close by and well worth a visit.

The atmosphere is very friendly but professional, the staff greet you at any time of day (or night) with a smile. We also got the impression that they genuinely care about your experience and there are no hard sales on the restaurant/bar, etc like you find in lesser hotels.

In particular we'd like to mention Jasxy and Ko whom were both brilliant and extremely friendly!!

Will be returning when we can!
