While we enjoyed the food and the unique local menu, the service is not quite similar to our other Michelin dining experience.

The place is nice and the service is good. The only thing lacking was their ability to explain the dishes to us in English. While we enjoyed the innovative / traditional dishes, it would have been nice to learn more about each dish.

We did love our experiences here nevertheless. The food is different and good. There was live music and the price is excellent for a one starred restaurant. Come and explore. Treat it as one of the popular restaurants with great food and you will not be disappointed.

Among all the Thai food that I have eaten, I am proud to say that this is the best one that I had by far. The dishes are simple yet cooked so perfectly. Ordered my usual fare of basil pork, Tom yum shrimp soup and fried cabbage with fish sauce. Everything was so delicious, there’s nothing to fault. We finished off the meal with 2 desserts - red ruby and mango sticky rice. I think the red ruby can be skipped but the mango sticky rice is a MUST order.

Overall, service was attentive and efficient. It’s a must visit place!

My tour guide said this was Michelin star authentic Thai, and it lives up to the bill!

I had the appetizer combo and it was all amazing, I only passed on some meat/pork thing.

I also had a delicious soup with veggies and seafood. Everything was presented beautifully.

They had a live singer and musician at lunchtime.

Amazing place. Well deserved star, but don't expect a tasting menu. More of a sharing experience and completely authentic well made Thai food.

You can tell this is the place where middle upper class families do Sunday lunch or go for grandma's bday 😂 and that's part of the appeal!

all menus had served with very thai taste. Fish tomyum was refreshing with a scent of basil leaves. I loved banana blossom salad with fried soft shell crab and the other one was pineapple fried-rice.
Try anothers if sweet-taste is not your type.
Booking is recommended.
Price is quite high compare to portion of food.
In my pov this restaurant is probably suitable for family dinner or tourist as an atmosphere's like going back to 90s. however it's good to visit once.

Methavalai Sorndaeng fully lives up to its reputation. The food is simply incredible, and some of the best we've ever had! The crab curry was our personal highlight, and so good we came back the next day for more.
Prices are more than reasonable, especially for a Michelin Star restaurant. In total, we paid around 4.2k Baht or around $30 USD per person.
If you're in the area, it's definitely worth the visit.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Authentic Thai Cuisine.
Food was absolutely delicious. Atmosphere and live music was brilliant.
However, from my experience the service was very poor. They were not attentive as they should.
Overall, I still have a good time and will come back again.

Nice ambience with live traditional music, quick staff and helpful, food is very tasty but kind of small portions. But worth the money in general.

Classical Thai restaurant belonging to a rather bygone period. The establishment seems to boast a vintage 1960s / 70s esque setting to accommodate their long-time patrons - hence a larger crowd of elderly generation choosing to enjoy their dinners and company at this place. Nice, gentle live music that is gentle to the ears - expectedly, nothing modern and cutting edge musically. The food is delicious and all the menus are nicely flavoured and their ingredients are fresh. Although I have to say that the downside is evident in outdated ambient aspect. I would understand that the restaurant proudly presents their old world charm with Thai touches, but in this case I would refer to their air conditioning. I have come here more than twice and i can confirm the smell of some old carpet or the aircon itself remained prevalent throughout the years. If this is fixed, then the experience would be exceptional. Overall, a great dinner here with my companion who enjoyed virtually every dishes that we ordered.

Very good food and great atmosphere. At lunch time, there is a live music show, usually old thai songs.

Awarded Michellin for many years. Would recommend for everyone!!

We took my wife on Mother's Day. We had a very nice time. My wife and daughter complimented the traditional Thai food. The service was impeccable. The restaurant has been here for many years. It is definitely old Thai style decor .

We went to try this Michelin star restaurant in Bangkok with some friends and the food was really good. This restaurant is quite old and it focused on traditional Thai cooking.

We had the staple Thai foods such as the fish, seafood, Pineapple fried rice to name a few. They were all very flavourful. We loved every dish we ordered. Price wise, this is considered affordable as well for Michelin standard.

It's worth a visit for sure.

Probably one of the few remaining classic establishments (having served the high society if Thailand for decades from royalty through politicians and millionaires) that have not decided to start robbing their customers post-michelin with price hikes - still very affordable for the masses. Right next to the Democracy Monument - authentic taste, quick and high quality service, your food will arrive in quick succession, served by waiters in full uniform with live music during dinner time.

Menus here are quite extensive, from Royal Thai Cuisine with Sino-Thai menu items. Stick to the 'recommended dish' symbol in the menu and you're good.

I didn't know the reputation of this restaurant prior to dining. My son and family took me out for traditional Thai meal. Atmosphere, location, staff all 1st rate. We had a large group and tried several dishes, very balanced flavours, Thai food can overpower with heat leaving you wondering what it actually tasted like. This was perfect fresh well prepared dishes so thankful for the experience and looking forward to returning.

I got this appetizer sampler and it was absolutely delicious. I didn’t even need to order a main. The mango sticky rice was the best I had in Thailand! Very delicious.

Best food and love the old Thai songs.

Ignore all the bad reviews and get the crab curry and Tom yum. I have never had such good Tom yum before.

If you can only eat at one place this is it.
