British Embassy Bangkok

I went there for marriage affirmation. Everything is booked and uploaded on line a few weeks before the appointment. They'll you just turn up at the reception on ground floor and they'll send you up in the lift to the office. They check passport, decree absolute, certificate of residence and payment receipt. 5 minutes later I got my authorised documents ready for the next step. I found it straight forward and efficient and everything is explained on their website and follow up emails. I didn't need to leave any ID to enter the building. All good

It’s reassuring to know that the embassy is there to help us when living abroad. I’ve lived in Taiwan for years and we don’t have an embassy, however visiting the British embassy in Thailand is an absolute pleasure. The staff are accommodating and helpful and make being a Brit abroad an absolute pleasure. Kudos to the team

I had an appointment at the British Embassy in Bangkok, and the process was very smooth and professional. My staff member was called Fay, and she was very helpful. Thank you.
To help find the Embassy, Bts station is Saint Louis and the large building for the Embassy is close by. As you enter the building, the Embassy security is on the left-hand side. They will look after you and take you up to the actual office. All very smooth. Remember to check in downstairs with the security.

What an excellent service. The young chap with short curly hair was a credit to The British Embassy. He was very professional and it was a pleasure to deal with. I am hard of hearing, but he explained everything perfectly so that I could hear and understand. Well done young man 👏🏼 Sorry no photos as not permitted.

How can I find lawyers?
My husband died 3 years ago and he has jersey accounts accept. But I have to have lawyers to help me how can I get lawyers?

Brilliant service. I lost my passport and within two days I have applied and been issued an emergency travel document that allows me to travel home. Staff were all friendly and helpful! Very straightforward, cannot fault it.

Location - Embassy reception is to the left as you enter the AIA tower.

Courteous and efficient. A very pleasant experience obtaining and authorising documents - an unpleasant task that I have been avoiding for years . The staff were incredibly professional .

Friendly, polite, efficient and always gave the impression of wanting to help with documents rather than find a problem within them. Certainly the best British embassy I have ever visited.

I have used the British Embassy four times in the last 4 years. On the first occasion it was to get an affirmation to marry which I dropped of in the morning and collected the next day. The second occasion was for a affirmation of residency which was needed for a Thai Driving Licence.

In the last week (March 2014) - I have used them twice. Once with a friend when he applied for his affirmation to marry and he waited 30 mins for it and didn't have to return next day. I applied for another affirmation of residency and got it within 30 mins.

All in all the procedures where quick (they actually got quicker over the last few years as the last two visits where while we waited!) and with very little hassle indeed.

Update: March 2024 - Visited with a friend to get an affirmation to marry and they were in and out in 25 mins. The Italian Embassy took 1:40mins by comparison the day before.

Really impressed with the new digs. The experience was effortless. The staff in the lobby and in the embassy itself were extremely polite and kind. Sad wireless road has gone but the smiles and hospitality remain! There should be a picture of her majesty as you walk out of the lift and the picture of her in the room is too small in my humble opinion. Other than that, 5 stars guys and girls

Guides were friendly. I was dealt with efficiently and kindly.

New clean building. Thoughtfully equipped with toys for children. Extremely polite and helpful staff. Fast and efficient service.

If you are validating documents, or swearing affidavits-would strongly recommend uploading all your documents to UK Website and complete application online. Payment can also be made online.

This makes everything seamless.

Area traffic is heavy. Suggest Grab bike.

Take note that Embassy has moved to AIA building and Grab still shows old address. Use AIA Building location on Google Maps.

The embassy is inside the AIA Sathorn Tower, you walk in the front of the building and the security for the embassy is on the left hand side of the lobby. There they will scan your belongings and the issue you with a card for the lifts. You'll be taken to the lift and that will take you to the 11th floor where the consulate services are. Here you wait for your name to be called. It's an opponent only affair so you'll have to do that before you arrive.

I turned up with a Brompton that they let me leave at security which was very nice. In the consulate services section they were very friendly and professional although they don't have a Prompt Pay/QR code and you can only use a credit or debit card to pay( maybe cash I didn't ask)

Prepare your documents in advance, pay online, and you will be fast-tracked.
I got my documentation within 30 minutes of going there.
Don't know what all the negative reviews are about - don't blame the staff for your lack of preparation.

It's 4th of May 2021. I went to the Embassy to optin residency affirmation document in order to exchange my own British driving licence to Thai licence and apply for Thai motorbike driving licence. I find the process magnificently great from booking the appointment to getting there and helped by all members of the staff from security personnel to main reception and finally by highly wonderful member of embassy clark assistant. All I can say Thank you so much for all of you there for making my visit a splendid experience.

Despite lots of negative reviews my experience was very good. Despite having some minor issues on the affirmation I needed legalising, Khun Pannarat edited it herself to rectify them situation. I was out within an hour.

Just to confirm if you have been robbed it is better to report it to the police. Unless of course you need a new passport. It's a bit ridiculous leaving a one star review because you don't know what an embassy is for!
