Bus Terminal no. 3 Khon Kaen

You cannot buy a ticket for direct bus to Vientiane, Laos from Bus terminal 3 Khon Kaen. But you can buy a ticket to a van to Udon Thani on one of the tables on the 2nd terminal. Bus is going every 30 min from 5:45 to 19:45. I bought the ticket close to the stand 18 for 95 THB. It took 2,5 h to get to Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1. From there I changed to the van to the borders check point (because I had e-visa, if you already have visa, you can travel straight to Vientiane) for 60 THB. The van is standing in front of the motorbike parking next to the building. A van is going one day at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 14:30 a 17:30. And other day 9:30, 12:30, 15:30, 18:30. The ride takes 50 mins. At the borders you go through Thai passport check and after you buy bus ticket for 30 THB to cross the border through friendship bridge. On the Laos side you will fill the document and get a stamp to your passport. On the right side of the parking get on the bus n.14 to the city for 12 kip or 30 THB.

At this terminal there is immigration, many choices of buses with various routes, cafes, 7-11, connecting transportation to Central Plaza and Khon Kaen University by van or Songtaew. There is also ample parking and free toilets here. Herewith I will drop the van timetable from Bus Terminal to Khon Kaen University. The van is only 20THB to Khon Kaen University. You can buy Tickets on the spot.

Quite new and well organised. They even have a bus (taxi) to Khon Kaen University for 20baht. I was 😧 surprised...didn't have to pay an exorbitant fee for a 🚕 taxi 🤩

I love it! There are 2 terminals with city bus and Song Taew public cars near them. Has 7Eleven, Family Mart, Food Court, and Other private food shops. I couldn't find any hostels or hotels inside. There is also 2 taxi hubs in the terminal. There is an Amazon coffee shop. The public toilet and bathroom are very clean.

Not for the terminal but for the quality of buses. large seats really cool to travel with them inside the country

Great easy to find location added bonus for visitors or long stay foreign nationals is the Khon Kaen immigration office is there as well

Many terminal, has more space, clean, many shop; food n coffee shop compare with the old one. Far away from city about 7-8 km.

I moved to Nongbualamphu area. They are vans connection each 2 hours from 8H00 to 16H00 in each directions. Company is located in terminal 2

Very good for a bus terminal. A few shops are close. The bathrooms are clean.
