I cannot believe some of the negative comments posted here!
I've been visiting the 494 for over 10 years and think it's the best wine deal in town. The wines by the glass happy hour choices are quite adequate.. I've never once had a dud.
The service is excellent. My glass is never empty for long. The 'snacks' available are delicious. Staff is friendly and up for a chat when the place isn't too busy.
Wine prices are pretty good for a typical Hyatt hotel.
My only grievance are the uncomfortable seats, I usually have to stand up every 30 minutes to stretch my back.

We had a great time. Khun On was wonderful and super efficient. Happy hours until 7pm, good value for money. Variety of food choices - Thai kitchen or pizza from the Italian restaurant. My favorites are kor moo yang and thod mun kung. Inside 494 bar, it is a nice wine bar but the outer part is like a sports bar .. a bit odd.

This place is wonderful for wine down night with friend. Great service and lots of selections for wine. Don’t listen to the naysayers. I have been here for 10 years and the service is fantastic as always.

799++ THB Wine buffet from 7pm-9pm. Friendly and attentive staff, would definitely come back.
