Dropped by 80/20 Eighty Twenty in Bangkok, a Michelin-star spot known for its Thai fusion with a hint of French influence. The fixed menu's around $150, and it's clear they're all about innovation here. Loved how they focus on local ingredients but sprinkle in some international flair, like Hokkaido scallops. The dedication to crafting each dish is evident, and it made the meal an experience to remember.

However, the spice levels were a bit intense for my liking. Noticed a couple nearby seemed to struggle with the heat too. It's a bummer because the flavors were incredible, just overshadowed by the spice for those of us with milder palates. The standout for me was the steamed rice, infused with coconut milk – absolutely delicious.

Also tried their fruit tea, which was uniquely sour and quite the bold choice. Adds an interesting twist to the meal.

Service-wise, you get what you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant – impeccable.

Good experience, good food, good service, good wine pairing. Able to adjust spicyness for one of the guests, which is a bonus. Happy to take time for pictures.
If you are looking for a good reasonably priced Michelin experience, this is your go-to!

Excellent dining experience! This place deserves its Michelin star.

We had the tasting dinner menu. Dishes were creative, celebrated Thai cuisine and produce, and were beautifully executed.

My one tiny gripe is that the explanation of the dishes and the English descriptions in the menu were a bit thin.

Otherwise, was a close to perfect experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at 80/20. The dishes, the wine pairing( and the cocktail) and the service were outstanding. A must go when in Bangkok! We can recommend the restaurant 100%!

The whole experience was just perfect. So many thoughtful details beside the amazing food. The tableware is from small shops ins Thailand and the service is just great. We had a wonderful evening there and the food was a perfect mix of other cultures mixed with thai food.

This is my first time trying Thai fusion fine dining and we had a fantastic meal. I really like the flavor they used in the food especially the Thai style spicy, not over but stay in my mouth. We enjoyed every single dish. I like they serve all the hot plate at the same time in the end, it's like family style and we're so full. I wish the main course curry dish less salty that will be perfect and I really love the coconut dessert.
We definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends!

Had an amazing dining experience at 80/20 Bangkok. Their signature tasting Menu not only features the best locally sourced ingredients (which is the named of the restaurant by using 80% local ingredients and 20% chef’s creativity) but also array of chef’s personal adventures. Each course were perfectly executed and well presented.

I would recommend this Michelin one starred restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional Thai dining experience in Bangkok.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant and we both loved it. The food was absolutely amazing. The main dishes especially was spectacular. Every dish was something new and elevated. The service was also fantastic. I was quite cold in the restaurant and the staff noticed on their own. They proceeded to bring me a large scarf that I could use without even having to mention anything. They pay great attention to detail and service and that’s what a Michelin star restaurant should provide you other than just great food. Something to mention, however, is that some dishes can be spicy, so it is best to expect that when dining here. If you want to avoid spice, you can maybe tell them in advance, but I’m not 100% certain if they can lower spice levels. Best to contact them beforehand.

We had to pay deposit when we made online booking. the resturant located on the main road so its easy to find. Everyone is having the tasting menu, that is completely fine. Food was sooo good and special. Love the coconut dessert and the beef with rice.good service and they could do less spicy for some of us. highly recommend.

Background
Been seeing good reviews about this restaurant, and I need to try it since I am in town. Informed them of my food restriction, and they were happy to accommodate me. So I made the reservations online without a problem.

Ambience
It is situated near the river in a much quieter part of town. The restaurant is spacious, and I love the open kitchen concept where you can see the chef at work

Food
The courses are a fusion of the chef’s interpretation of Thai food. I appreciated that most foods were very flavorful. I enjoyed the main, which was very communal. My favourite part of the meal was the desserts. It was spot on!

Service
As expected, the service was impeccable. The chef would come out periodically to greet the guests or to serve a course. They were friendly and attentive

Value for money
I was happy with the experimental aspect of Thai food from an outsider's perspective. I particularly like that most dishes had a spicy kick to them. Definitely need to experience this

One of the best meals we’ve ever had! It was an out-of-the-world, out-of-the-body experience for everyone.

Each bite was exquisite and bursting with flavor. The appetizers were packed full of surprises, which really set the tone for the rest of the meal. We love the palate cleansers, which were executed perfectly and did exactly what they needed to.

We will be back for sure, and hope that you guys will give it a try too!

I was sceptical at first as the restaurant didn't look to special.

But.... but..... but.....

Best Michelin restaurant I've been to - other Michelin restaurants need to take note!

Amazing and attentive service whereby the servers would change cutlery every dish. Wipe and dry the table if dirty.

Pallet cleanser after every course and the food had amazing and unique flavour.

Highly highly recommend!!! You will not regret it!!!

A great Michelin Star experience! Thai Fusion Cousine with delicious food!

The menu is designed as a well-rounded concept. The chef himself is coming to the table to explain the dishes and the idea behind it. It’s inspired by his personal stories and experiences and a a mix of his Canadian and Japan heritage.
The cocktails were delicious as well. Choose these over wine, when from Europe.

What should be considered is the atmosphere. The open kitchen causes a background noice, which might be disturbing. When booking, ask for a certain table (not in the middle of the room).

Overall we enjoyed our evening and left satiated and satisfied.

Thank you!

I was lucky enough to get a table on short notice. I was recommended to this restaurant by my colleague. They have been awarded with 1 Michelin star, so I came with an expectation.

From the moment I walked in to the moment I stepped out, the service was excellent. The chef took time to send off with a good by at the door. How rare!

The tables were fully occupied. It is as busy as it gets, but the entire experience was anticipated and delightfully amuse with the spread presented. The food from amuse bouche, throughout the entire course to the last dish, was an enjoyment. The mish mash between Thai and Japanese works well! You've got to try their cocktail concoctions, too. They compliment well with the entire course.

Love the interior, industrial modern with wide open space. The open kitchen, the staff, works together like a well-oiled machine. Together with the wait staff, everyone seems to be passionate about delivering an impeccable service.

Kudos to Chef Andrew! All the best and success to him and the team. Bravo!

Absolutely our best experience in Bangkok this trip in October 2022!
Great tasting menu with many dishes. A few were very very spicy 🌶 not only for my wife but even for some other tables around us. A choice of slightly less would have worked for about 4 people around us.
But, having said that the tastes, combinations, presentation and the whole experience was exceptional! 100 plus points!
Price high, but worth the experience! Every Bath ;-)!
The highlight was the dessert!
Thanks to the whole crew and the inspirator!
We will be back in February next!

Enjoyed our really delicious and yummy dinner last night at 80/20 Eighty Twenty in Bangkok.

80/20 had an industrial interior, it was focused on using locally produced ingredients, taking inspiration from older recipes, and making modern twists on traditional Thai cuisine, but pushing the boundaries firmly and progressively forward.

The wine pairings were very well chosen from most vineyards I had never came across, and it paired beautifully across every single dish. Every single dish was a hit, playing well into all our different taste profiles and textures, bringing modernity into traditional Thai food.

The wines took us around the world, starting with an Italian bubbly, Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, German Pinot Gris, Spanish Priorat, Australian Cabernet Sauvignon from Wrattonbully, and ending with a Hungarian Tokaji.

Would be happy to come back again. Hear the menu changes quite completely every 3-4 months so it’s going to be a brand new experience each time. Can’t wait for the next time.

Amazing evening. The team have really evaluated some Thai classic to the next level.

Based on the food, this is one of my top 5 all time favourites places.

The 15 dishes are perfectly sized for 2.5hr experience. The dishes have not been over complicated, they’re well balanced, modern and innovative takes on Thai dishes.

There was not a single dish I would skip on 2nd outing, or could find any fault or negative remark. Every bite brought smiles and pleasure.

We also enjoyed a few cocktails and the wine pairing, and cocktails were good. I would have happily sat there and had a few more!

The restaurant well deserves their Michelin recognition. Look forward to returning again the near future.
