A very interesting place. The museum is the former residential buildings of middle-income Thais. It is interesting to study the history of an entire family through such an exhibition. See how ordinary people lived literally 30-40 years ago. Special mention should be made of the amazing female volunteers. This is something worth going for. Stunning women.

I have only positive things to say about this place.

The volunteers at the museum are very kind and are able to explain the history of the place in English.

Lots of very well preserved vintage everyday items you can see up close and personal.

The owner of the place donated it to the public, and sadly has passed away 7 years ago, so the volunteers told me. She had no one to pass it on to.

She had pets that won awards, which is adorable, their photos displayed on a drawer in the second building.

The whole places consists of 3 buildings. One is the main house, second was used as a doctor’s office, by the father of the past owner. And the third building was first, apartments that were rented out, but then turned into a kitchen.

If you are in Bangkok, this is a place you can visit, its free and its great to see how the people in the past went about their simple daily life.

A lovely little museum of everyday life. Middle-class houses with possessions of the family that left their property to be turned into a place that welcomes everyone interested in what life in Bangkok (and especially the Bangrak area) used to be like. Big part of the exhibition is in Thai only, which was a shame since I would have very much enjoyed knowing more about the urban development of the area, however overall impression it left on me is one of appreciation and interest to explore more.

Ladies who volunteer at this place are really welcoming and nice, one of them makes these beautiful ephemeral flowers in her free time, there are also some little items available for purchase such as bracelets, totally optional of course and there is not a single trace of push towards buying anything (although I strongly recommend it).

A charming museum comprised of a cluster of three houses built just as western architecture was being introduced to Thailand. The experience here was one of journeying in time and the volunteers who gave the tour of the houses were simply delightful people. Their eagerness and enthusiasm, and the original undisturbed architecture of the three homes made this an out-of-the way, low key visit well worth undertaking.

A very detailed museum, a lot of it is in Thai only so I had to use Google Lens. Otherwise very nice and the wonderful ladies there did a great job guiding me through the history of the house.

Beautiful relaxing historic home very close to Warehouse 30 and River City. The volunteers were so lovely, friendly and helpful. There are 3 houses and lots of collectibles and family heirlooms to see. The garden is beautiful too. I'd highly recommend you visit! Plus it's free!

I had a good time visiting this free museum on a quiet street next to a lovely garden cafe. It was interesting exploring the house and seeing the photos and artifacts from this fascinating family. I’m so glad she donated the houses and land.

Nice quiet spot that showcases a beautiful old house and provides some insight into the development of Bangkok and the relationship with external countries through the years. The volunteer guides are lovely and make a big effort to explain everything, really welcoming!

Certainly for me the most beautiful surprise of my 7 days spent in Bangkok. Free parking, free entrance, very clean toilet.
Free guided tour organized by a group of volunteers, association which maintains this villa. I spent more 2 hours there to discover a lot of things. Ask why there is a horizontal bar at each window?

A really beautiful and quiet place. Visit a house from around 1930. Very friendly stuff. Admission is free. You feel like invited at a familyhome of ancient times. Learn about the familyties, the profession and the livestyle. It's small, you don't need much time unless you want to rest in the beautiful garden.

A Free of Charge Museum - rich in history and memories of the late Suravadee’s loved ones - an educated upper middle class.

Museums located in the heart of Bangrak District of the old commercial/ international area of Bangkok. The compound composes of 3 buildings; the main house, the clinic house and the commercial house with real utensils & furnitures on display.

This place has been well preserved, thanks to the owner who dedicated the house to the public, we are able to experience life back in the early 1900s with several senior volunteers guides.

Also there is a FREE Thai desserts workshop held from July-Sep, on the weekend. I recommend you find time & immense your self in this historical place😊 lastly, Thank you for keeping this place alive.

Loved this museum. Entry is free and there are helpful quides. Unfortunately their English was so hard to understand i gave up eventually, but probably i just was unlucky. The atmosphere is similar to Jim Thompson house, in a sense that this is also a wooden mansion with a lovely serene garden. The atmosphere is wonderful, but English info panels are limited.

This museum is a hidden gem, no tickets needed. Good place to know more about the past of Thailand. All voluntary staffs there are super friendly and welcoming. Just note that you have to take off your shoes during the visit, so wear something casual.

Free entry and a great way to glimpse real everyday life in Thailand. The three houses have beautiful teak floors, for which you have to remove your shoes. They each have different artefacts. I particularly enjoyed the traditional Chinese calligraphy.
