If you buy the ticket for the Grand Palace in Bangkok you also get a ticket for here which is valid for 7 days. The museum itself is not very big (2 floors), 1 hour should be enough. What it lacks in volume it makes up for in quality. If you are interested in hand carved wood artwork, gold and silver metalwork and silk embroidery you will be blown away by the artistry on display. Simply stunning stuff. Unfortunately no photos allowed inside, you have to put all your belongings in a locker. For Ayutthaya, I recommend 2 days - spend one exploring the ancient ruins and the second at Bang Pa In Palace, Wat Niwet Thammaprawat Ratchaworawihan (a quick optional detour), and Arts of the Kingdom. They have ample parking and a shuttle to the museum from the parking. There is also a souvenir shop, coffee shop and snack shop.

Most do while in Bangkok! On your one day to Ayutthaya stop by at this museum. The most impressive handicraft art that I have seen. Each piece at the museum is incredible. Not to mention the museum itself, very nicely set-up specially for this collection. All the staff is super friendly as well. Your Grand Palace ticket is good for this museum too. Recommend booking online. Super easy.

The place was founded by the grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. She was aware of the poverty in rural areas and wanted to offer great opportunities as a supported career apart from agriculture only. And to preserve the beauty of local wisdom arts and crafts to remain with our country.
Inside the museum are spectacular handcrafts that are possibly hardly find in anywhere else in this world, must see. (**photograph is not permitted)
Khon learning center is also a great place to visit. You will get the chance to closely see all the beautiful artworks used for the real show. Highly recommend.

Amazing museum. Definitely worth the visit. Get to see a lot of Thai gold/silver smithing, handsewn art, and woodworking techniques but beautiful gold and diamond pieces. Cameras and cellphones are not allowed in the museum. Audio guide for most of the art pieces included in multiple languages.

I absolutely love the place, it well organized and well maintained. The staff are well services mind and equipped with the knowledge. The display of royal items were stunning and priceless. Also I did visited Khon museum which interested me a lot. The display are the real item that used in acts of the royal Khon in every past years. It such a great place to visit during weekend as it not too far from Bangkok.

Very good museum (I think a museum at this quality is the first one I found in Thailand!)

Artifacts in side are of invaluable values (though they are not 'ancient' or classic.) The arts and crafts are very pretty... very detail... reflecting Thai traditional arts techniques which are only found in Royal projects or in the Palaces.

The place is new (Dec.2019) well run and well maintained. Lots of staff on-site. They are super polite and well trained to give you super warm welcomed.

Highily recommended!

Amazing exhibits with tons of incredibly elaborate art pieces gifted to Queen Sirikit. You're not allowed to take pictures of the exhibits and they'll have you store your phone before entering (they also do body checks). It's well worth the entrance fee, though they do charge tourists more to enter.

This is not only the treasury of the most precious, both artistically and financially, masterpieces of Thai traditional arts made of gold, priceless wood and silk and even beetle wings, but also a wast area so beautiful to walk around, with walking tracks, small zoo, lake and pieces of Thai architecture around. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, photos are not allowed inside the exhibition halls.

One of the most fascinating museums I've ever seen. The crafted exhibitions are truly mind-blowing if you realize that one person could never have created this in one lifetime.
