Also known as the summer palace, bang pa-in palace is spread across a large area. There are golf carts you can rent to make getting around easier as the sun can be scorching. The architecture is surprisingly European as King Rama V had it done in this style. There's an intricate building done in Chinese architecture at the back.

Very picturesque beautiful scenery.
You can also buy bread buns to feed the hungry fish in the lake, if you so wish.

Arrive early and you will miss the school tours and most of the tourists.

Beautiful Palace grounds, bring your drivers licence(yes) and a form of ID, so you can rent a golf cart for an hour. Cost of cart, 400baht. Although it’s hot you must cover yourself when entering. Legs and shoulders and arms. Long sleeve top and bottoms, not even 3/4 pants allowed. Simples. They have stalls outside that will sell you thin clothing for this.

We rented a golf cart for our party of four since one of us had a walking disability. Initially, we were not able to rent the cart since I didn't bring my physical driver license and passport. But, luckily my Thai driver was able to speak with the office and let us rent the cart. There is a nice museum in the middle of the palace ground (but with no AC). The visit to the palace took about an hour.

Very beautiful and amazing place!
The entry ticket caused 20 baht for children and elderly people but 30 baht for adults

We rented a golf cart which costed 300 baht for one hour

An excellent place to visit when you are visiting Ayutthaya. It is a bit of a drive from the train station but we’ll worth the trip. You can get a grab to take you for about half the price if the tour touts but we did get a tuk tuk back because there were no grabs in the area.

The palace is spectacular and set in and around a beautiful lake. It is worth hiring a golf cart to get around as during the heat of the day it is a long way to walk. There are several ces around the site to get refreshments.

We had a great time there enjoying the gardens as well as the interesting and beautiful architecture

A beautiful piece of Thailand's history. We had a wonderful day exploring this historic location. I recommend visiting if you are in Thailand.

This is a beautiful place with quite a lot of buildings to see, although the pavilion is probably the highlight. There is also the residence where King Chulalongkorn stayed and the Chinese style mansion which is stunning as well. The dress code is the same as the Grand Palace, i.e. long pants and shoes for guys. You can hire a golf cart to get around which is recommended if you are short on time or not able to walk a lot. It is 400 Baht to rent for an hour, thereafter 100 per hour. Bring your own snacks if you think you will get hungry as they only have ice cream and drinks inside. If you have extra time check out Wat Niwet Thammaprawat Ratchaworawihan which is across the river from the car park. You can take a cable car to get there. It's shown on the pamphlet map as number 37.

Bang Pa In Palace, known as the Summer Palace, is a palace complex that was once used by the kings of Thailand. This palace is located beside the Chao Phraya River in Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province in Thailand. Wikipedia

A very beautiful palace building in the middle of a lake, with a large and well maintained garden. There are other artistic buildings, with wooden carvings. It's really cool, if you go to Ayutthaya you have to come here.

Oh yes, here we must wear modest clothing, the shoulders must not be visible and do not wear shorts. But here there are also sales of clothes or scarves, If someone is wearing inappropriate clothing.
And the seller also sells at friendly prices.

The entrance ticket price is 100 bath.

I took a trip from Klook with a travel operator from TripGuru

Even though the location is not as large as Ancient City and you can walk around, but I tell you, take the golf cart for rent. It's THB 400 but it's super worth it.

This is really a beautiful place with European style building. The breeze really calmed me and the clean air was such a paradise. Sadly you can't enter every building tho.

This Renaissance, Rococo and Chinese-inspired palace is a sight to behold! It is absolutely beautiful, combining the best of all three cultures: Thai, Chinese, and European.

Unlike what others are saying, I really don't think renting a golf cart is worth it. We only had 45 minutes to see the entire thing and in about 15 minutes we'd walked all the way to the end comfortably. We didn't have as much time as I'd wished to stand and behold, but that definitely means that, unless you are physically handicapped, a golf cart doesn't seem worth the price (honestly, even if it was free I still wouldn't take it).

Great place of history and beautiful places to take photos. Do be respectful when you are here since it's still a property owned by the royal family and no shorts are allowed for both men/women.

Beautiful history about Thailand and the kings and rules they had to respect.
Now is the summer palace for the king. We can visit the gardens and buildings outside. When they come on vacations this is closed

I fell in love with this place. It's so pretty and well maintained. If my memory recalls correctly, this is the summer palace built by King Rama X. You'd have a chance to view the architecture from different countries in one shot.

Lovely summer residence of the Thai king. Interesting mixture of architecture styles and Asian exotic.

Great place with lots of historical monuments that speak the stories of Thailand's history. Definitely a good experience to have. Buggy cars are available for hire. Recommend to bring an umbrella as it can get quite hot under the sun. There is a very strict dress code, no shorts, tight jeans or jeans with holes, nor singlets allowed.

Day 2 in Ayutthaya started at the Bang Pa-in Summer Palace, which was first used as a summer retreat in the 17th century. However, the Palace was destroyed with the fall of Kingdom of Ayutthaya and was restored by King Rama IV in the mid-19th century. Most of the buildings that exist today date from the reign of King Rama V, who regularly spent his summers there.

The entrance fee of 100 THB is a bit higher than other entrance fees in the area, but it is a very big, sprawling place with many instagrammable sites and structures. Wearing shorts for both men and women is not allowed so be sure to wear pants or skirts to enter.

This is one beautiful place to visit. The summer palace is a place to see. It's around 46 acres and it had 39 things to see. Inside it's a series of buildings each different and each beautiful. The landscaping, and bridges, are great places for pictures. They have this building that looks oriental with these beautiful intricate design doors. I recommend checking it out. One of the awesome things about the palace is that you can rent a golf cart and drive around the property. They do ask for a driver's license. The place had good shade all around. Big trees and a shady walkway. This palace grounds is different from any of the other palaces. It's very pretty here.
