This was a wonderful and historic place to visit. My wife and I had a nice time walking around and taking pictures. This is definitely something everyone visiting Thailand should visit.

You do not need to pay to enter here, you can see the ruins of an old temple and see both reclining buddhas. It’s good to spend a few hours. You can also see the buddhas face on a tree although I was told no one knows how it got there since it was abandoned and when it was discovered again it was already like that. It’s Free !!

This place do not require an entrance fee.
It’s a much bigger reclining Buddha than the one at Wat Yai Chaimongkol.
Less touristy too.

So serene and calming to be in the presence of the reclining Buddah.
Not as popular as some of the other temple sites but still very beautiful 😍

With 42m in length this is the older but shorter brother of the Reclining Budha in Bangkok. Unlike his Bangkok counterpart though, this Reclining Budha is fully outdoors, allowing a full view to appreciate the size.

Great sit with the original lying/resting Buddha which was later copied in Bangkok. No entry fee.

Wat Lokkayasutha is a Buddhist temple located in Ayutthaya, Thailand, and it is known for its large reclining Buddha statue. The temple was constructed during the Ayutthaya Kingdom, which existed from 1351 to 1767.

The highlight of Wat Lokkayasutha is the Reclining Buddha, which is approximately 42 meters long and 8 meters high. The statue is made of brick and covered with stucco, reflecting the artistic style of the Ayutthaya period. The reclining posture is a common representation of the Buddha during the moment of his final Nirvana.

During the Burmese invasion in 1767, Wat Lokkayasutha, like many other temples in Ayutthaya, suffered significant damage. The temple ruins, including the reclining Buddha, are now part of the Ayutthaya Historical Park, offering a glimpse into the historical and cultural heritage of the Ayutthaya Kingdom.

You can complete the tour pretty quick, but it’s definitely worth to come cause the Buddha looks awesome, it’s even bigger than the Bangkok one.

Reclining Buddha at the end of a Wat dating back to early period of Ayutthaya. No entrance fee. Very calm atmosphere. You could get there on bike pretty easy. Gotta be careful on the roads though. Narrow country roads (asphalt).

There are gift shops and mini supermarkets.

Must see monastery in Ayutthaya, Thailand 🇹🇭
The Reclining Buddha of Wat Lokaya Sutha underwent major restoration in 1954 until it had a final form of today. The Reclining Buddha image is aligned to a north-south axis, where its head is pointing to the north while its face is facing west. The Buddha image from head to toes is 42 meters in length. There are lotus Alowers supporting the Buddha's head. The Buddha's
one foot is positioned on top of the other foot in a perfect right
angle. All the Buddha's toes are of equal lengths. In the areas in front of the Buddha image, there are traces of 24 octagon-shaped brick pillars surroundin the Buddha image, sugsesting that the Buddha image was once encased by a Vihara.

Free entrance.
I was tempted to gave 3 star to this place, not because the statue was bad or something but because there was a Lady in this place removing offerings and shouting to tourist that make the visit a little unpleasant. Aside of that, this is one of the places that less tourist receives and it’s a shame as is one of the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. If you are walking around Ayutthaya, bear in mind that the shortest route to this place crosses some alleys with strays dog that are nit that friendly.

Large and marvel at the huge shawl adorning the statue. That's all there is though so if on foot or bicycle, plan your effort.

A massive Buddha out in the open as opposed to under a roof.

Situated in ancient capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya. This is ruins of old temple. There’s no entry fee. Better to visit in morning or evening time when sun is not so angry.

The places is historic and beautiful but it is far from other historic sites so you might have to travel a lot. I recommend taking a taxi from the apps like grab or bolt.
