Must try, very special dish to taste.

We ordered the Guay Tiew Kua Gai.
Hard to describe but I would say chicken egg, noodles and other ingredients cooked over a very hot wok. You get that charred taste, the whole is delicious.

I would go back to that place to have some more. It was for me unforgettable.

To be honest, this place is on my top 3 best food in Thailand, might even get the gold medal.
The fried rice noodles with pork and a runny egg on the top..Good God, if I would die tomorrow this dish will definitely be on my Last Supper table !
Go on and try but if you see a queue, breathe and hold your twisted hungry stomach for a little while, it definitely worth it
P.S : As you might see on the pics, I had two of them, and the two balls were cleared and empty at the end. It costs me 120baths only

Another multi year Michelin Bib Gourmand award winner, this one for charcoal fired deep fried rice noodles. You can choose to add proteins like Chicken or Runny Egg.

Arrived just before 2pm and I was the first customer of the day. Ordered Fried Noodles with Chicken and Runny Egg, deep fried chicken skin and a bottle of water. Total damage 110 baht.

First to arrive was the chicken skin. It was still warm, evidently just fried. It was biscuit like crispy and had just the right amount of seasoning.

Next up was the rice noodles. It was fried till crispy on the outside with slight charring. The underside was still soft and chewy like normal rice noodles. Strewn on top of the Guay Tieu were slices of chicken and a soft boiled egg.

To enjoy this dish, break the egg and add a healthy dollop of their chilli sauce. It imparts some heat and sourness to the noodles whilst the egg gives the noodles a silkiness to contrast the crispy exterior.

Somewhere during the meal, a bowl of soup was provided. It was savoury and sour and cuts through any feeling of greasiness of the noodles. Nice.

Strongly recommend, even though they lost their Bib Gourmand nod which was picked up by a stall just behind Ann Guay Tieu. At least this restaurant has aircon.

Fried noodles with pork (fried egg version).
Fried noodles with chicken, ham, squid and runny egg.

Fried egg version has more smoky flavour but I prefer the runny egg version due to its texture, really depends on personal preference. I also prefer pork over chicken.

This was the first stop on a food tour of Bangkok and I was blown away. I got the fried noodles with chicken and it was so good! The sriracha style sauce they had was different to what I’m used to, but I think it was even better! Be sure to walk around the back and see them cooking, it’s quite the show!

Great place to try local fried noodles. If you want to avoid the protein, you can just order the fried noodles on its own with egg. Cheap and good meal to be had. Adding the garlic chilli sauce is recommended - brings out the flavour if the noodles. Definitely worth the Michelin star

Absolutely amazing! Haven’t had anything like this before, fried noodles with chicken but the fried noodles are clumped together and all crispy and savoury. Chicken is seared well and tasty. Also had a fried noodles with pork, just as good! We also ordered fried wontons, delicious too! Do try this place, you won’t regret.

A restaurant famous and earning a Bib for their dry stir fried flat rice noodle, so you may want to pass on the soup variety and get right into their signature dish.

Fried wanton was good too.

🍜 Food wise: On its own, it was good, lightly seasoned, chewy texture, nice char flavours, some crispy parts on the Guay Tiew, silky smooth mouthfeel from the egg yolk. Seeing how some locals started adding a bit of this and that (chilli sauce, soya sauce mainly), one added chilli sauce, mixed it up a bit, woah, now it tasted even better! Now there is this element of sweetness, that lifts the flavour to another level! Simply delicious! The meats were well disguised into the mixture, the taste was also lightly seasoned, and they were succulent!

Without stirring, it looks a lot like some fancy carrot cake with an egg yolk on top. But once stirring happens, it looks a lot like some gooey oyster omelette, so clumpy, so gooey, so tasty looking.

While eating, the staff will bring around a large tray full of soup, serving every customer still eating. Now this soup, wasn’t your average soup, it was refreshing and had a special taste to it. As eavesdropped on the locals, there was lemon added, giving a special flavour and the refreshing feel to it.

Sidenote, the egg white may be slightly undercooked, so keep on stirring to allow the heat of the noodles to help cook them a bit.

✨ Ambience wise: Air conditioned. The staff will first give you a number as you stand around the roads, with some flies around you, waiting. Can be a little irritating but worth the wait.

🤵🏻 Service wise: Staff did their job.

💵 Price wise:
Fried noodles with chicken and runny eggs 50 Baht
Fried noodles with pork and runny eggs 60 Baht

Summary: Recommended!

Noodles - when you think you've seen them all, Ann Guay Tiew Kua Gai surprises with an innovative take on the flat rice noodles. Their signature noodle dishes are served fried, but not fried as in the typical stir-fried noodles. The noodles are cooked with their own batter, and then fried to resemble a pancake. Topped with your selection of ingredients, from chicken, to bacon, squid, and a runny egg, the result is a tasty and comforting meal. A selection of condiments are available on every table for that extra flavour; we opted for chilli sauce and flakes as the dish was not spicy by default.

Having been on the Michelin Guide for six years, Ann Guay Tiew Kua Gai is hugely popular. Despite our visit being on a random weekday evening, the restaurant was packed with a queue to be seated. You can conveniently request for a queue number from the host counter set up in front of the restaurant. The wait was reasonable (~15mins) and certainly worth it once we tried their food.

Prices are affordable, though the portions are relatively small. Each fried noodle dish cost us 60 Baht. A bowl of fried chicken starters was 70 Baht. Drinks were 40 Baht each. If you are visiting for a full meal, expect to order seconds. I had a second equally satisfying bowl of noodles, and one more takeaway for supper that night! We noted that there were also soup versions of their noodle dishes but all diners who were there ordered the fried noodles. We pondered ordering both but did not regret just going for their signature fried noodles.

Ann Guay Tiew Kua Gai's fried noodles are certainly a culinary delight. It is a noodle dish unlike any other. Will certainly visit again if we happen to be around Chinatown in Bangkok!

This place is absolutely amazing. The chicken skin was cooked to a crisp. The noodle dish was outstanding and different than other local Thai spots, it had a flavor of its own. The Thai iced tea was perfection. The staff was amazing and for the quality of the food, the price was extremely reasonable. Will definitely come again.

The fried noodles with chicken was tasty, noodles were fried with slight crisp and it was this interesting texture that really alleviated the dish. Worth to try.

The soup that comes with the noodles tasted very weird though, I wondered if it’s really meant to taste like this.

Minus a star (4/5) for the atmosphere as the place inside had an ointment-like smell which was quite overwhelming for me.

Legendary Stove fried noodle. This area was packed with this kind of food but Ann’s is the most convenient to stop by.

They have 2 choices
1. Typical stove fried noodles
2. Crispy stove fried noodles which i prefer.

Thumbs up for quality and consistency of food !

I’ve eaten pan fried noodles far too many places in Thailand. Ann’s by far the most efficient, most mouth-watering delicious kua gai in my opinion as a local Thai guy.

You can get 2 types of kua gai: pan fried or baked noodles. Trust me and go for pan fried! Far more delicious, crispy noodles with intense smoky flavors. The benefits of old cooking style, high heat stir-fry with pork fat.

My favorite is egg noodles pan fried with bacon + chicken. You can add runny egg, white pepper, chili flakes and some tangy chili sauce to enhance the dish even more. All the flavors mixed together heavenly.

If you want extra protein, please order เกาเหลา version which is noodles dish without noodle! In this case, pan fried eggs with toppings of your choice. I still love bacon + chicken with it. Flavors still incredible, as great as pan fried noodles.

One bowl is never enough for one person. So I recommend you to try at least 2-3 different varieties. Side dishes like fried chicken bits, fried wontons also pretty nice.

It’s extremely difficult to make this dish to taste as good at home. So better come here while the price still incredibly affordable for Thai people. Basic street food price but you receive restaurant quality food in returns. Overall, happy wallet, happy belly.

I will continue to come back here for more with local and foreign friends.

During my two weeks in Thailand, my friends and I went on a Michelin food hunt. We went to over 20 recommended spots around the country and Ann Guay Tiew Kua Gai is the top winner. All the restaurants were good but didn’t feel “Michelin” until we took a bite of the deep fried noodles with egg. We also tried the fried pork wontons, fried chicken tendons, and fried chicken skin. Everything was excellent but my favorite was the deep fried noodles. I don’t know how they make it so crispy. It was so delicious that we ate here 2 days in a row. Only thing we did not like was the complimentary soup. It has a soapy, floral taste which my friends and I were not used to. If you want the fried chicken wing and tendons, make sure you go before 6pm because they sell out quickly. I will be back for you Ann Guay!!

Excellent place! Definitely a go to restaurant that I see myself coming back and gladly recommend. The house dish is their noodles with chicken and runny egg and is fantastic. The dish is quite small though, so keep this in mind and order 2 if you are someone that enjoys a good filing portion. To drink I recommend their pineapple smoothie which is done freshly and with no added sugar. The root beer is popular but I warn you that here in Thailand they love sweet so it was for me too sweet and was purely artificial sweetener, which I don’t enjoy neither.
In any case, visit the place and enjoy the noodles with chicken! And like always, bring cash because no card payment is allowed.
