PenLaos (Khaoyai)

Authentic northeastern style. They allowed pet but sit outdoor which has plenty of tables. Dishes are not too big so we could order more variety.
Quick service and staff are friendly.
Plenty parking spaces but can be crowded at peak hours and some dishes may be not available.
We definitely will come back soon.

First visit the food tastes very good. Service is very good as well. Portion size is a bit small. Sticky rice was cooked very well. Second time the sticky rice was overcooked. That's disappointing for Laos. Please take good care of your sticky rice in the future and don't overcook it. Thank you. 🙏

Reasonably priced. Taste very good, Northern Thai food with lighter spices. Came here with 6 person and ordered more than 10 dishes and we finished all. Dont forget to order coconut to fresh up your day. It is usually full during lunch time, so you might want to come before 12 or after 1pm to avoid long waiting.

Very good. If you enjoy Thai food from issan then this a must try.

My 2 favourite dishes were
1. Korat style stirred noodle
2. Chicken broth with tamarind leaf

Papaya salad had good taste.
Sticky rice was black rice.

Fast cooking even when in crowded time.

One of the most talk about Esan restaurants in Khao Yai area. I went there today for lunch at about 1400, and it was still occupied by customers, almost full. Fortunately, seats were available for us, and it was outside. The services were very effective. We were served with every dish that we ordered in a very short time. Esan food, of course, that we ordered. There are pictures, menus, and text menus. Somtum, grill free-range chicken , soup , sticky rice, you named it, they have them all. In fact, there are many esan restaurants or any restaurants in the area, but this PemLaos Khaoyai is worth a try and could easily become your favorite destination when visiting Khaoyai . 😉

We came 2 days continuously because we loved the Thai foods in this restaurant. The papaya salad, Tom yum Kum clear, fried sea base, fried pork belly, chicken, and desert. The dessert was like Nonya gui. The glutinous rice was hard cos it was cooked long ago. Normal white rice will be good. The last order is 5:30pm.

Excellent service and turn over was fast. We waited 30 mins on a weekend where it is packed, and we were a big group. Food was really good. Other than the beef and chicken being a little over cooked, rest were delicious. Fermented pork is highly recommended. Clear Tom yum gong was really authentic in taste as well. Defo worth a visit if u r ard the corner visiting the national park.

Every dish was super yummy! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was incredible — someone helped bring an umbrella to our car because it was raining outside. Food arrived very quickly (<5 minutes after ordering). Recommend every dish depending on your preference but the fried catfish in particular was really delicious. Not photographed but we also ordered the shaved ice and Sala with syrup. Generous portions, great service, good food — would recommend to come if you’re in the area!

I visited this place many time before it got Bib gourmet from Michelin. Food here served really fast and you can order level of spicy 🌶. Reasonable price and good service. I recommended to order Somtum Luangpranang (Lao style) and crispy pork belly.

Revisited Penlaos for the 2nd time. Food is very good and tasty as like the first time. Must try: mushroom soup, pork neck, som tum, pudding dessert. Packed even during weekday lunch but service was fast though they forgot 2 or 3 dishes so need to remind

Very authentic and yummy Thai cuisine! I came here for lunch on consecutive days.

Delish Laotian & Thai dishes. There are Michelin Bib Gourmet rated Laotian dishes including the Mushroom soup, Larb Catfish, etc.

Arrived early around 10am & restaurant was packed before noon. There are various food & dessert spots inside & outside the restaurant including a nice Gift shop. There was an English speaking Staff and everyone was helpful. Super clean especially the WC!

A must-try spot when in Khao Yai.

Local Thai-isan restaurant near the entrance of Khao Yai National park. Reasonable price, spacious, tasty and fast service with plenty of parking. Good for friends, family especially large groups.

Really good Isaan food specialty! We enjoyed every single dish here! Grilled pork neck, deep fried corn, Isaan sausages, grilled chicken 🍗, every single dish!
Shop owner and staff are super friendly as well! Overall, that was a fantastic experience!
Last but not least, ice cream and coffee are also available at the entrance! Enjoy!

Good Somtum and other local food. There are many tasty and spicy Thai-style menus. If you come around Khaoyai, recommend trying. Yummy!!!

I’ve visited here 3 times whenever I come to Khao yai. Best place ever!

We went there once in the afternoon but have no luck as lot of people and queue. Therefore we went back for dinner before kitchen close by 18:30hrs.

Food quality: Excellent for Esan food all products were meet with prices you paid with value of money 💰 .

All food that we ordered were many plate 🍽 and cannot remember that what we ordered as hungry.

Service: Good in attention with all staff and all information were clear message.

Hopefully we have a chance to drop there again.
