Hertz Car Rental

Airport rental cars are always a bit hit and miss (even the branded ones like Hertz) but I had an absolutely faultless experience. The car we received was as advertised (some Toyota saloon) and had 600kms on it - almost brand new! It even had Carplay and Android Auto and a reversing camera which were beyond what I expected.

No issues with the return of the car - it didn't have a scratch on it to begin with and I returned it as such which made it easy. They didn't try to hard sell me on the extra insurance, just asked me the question and I declined. I did end up having to pay an extra 1000 THB as my flight was delayed slightly and out of hours charges apply after 8pm. To be fair that was in their T&Cs so can't complain really.

Overall an excellent experience, would absolutely rent from here again!

The staff at Hertz at Phuket Airport have been great. I rented an SUV and it was in great condition when I took it, unfortunately I was hit by a drunk driver in Phuket and the car was very damaged. They say that you truly see how a company is at the worst of times and I cannot fault their excellent service when this happened. The insurance guy came out at 7pm to assess the vehicle and took a thorough report, the next day we replaced the vehicle in an hour.

I give 10 stars! Amazing service! Very fast, polite, clean. Additional note, I forgot my sunglasses in the car when we returned in Phuket airport. When we contacted by whatsapp, it was found by Palow and sent to my hotel in Bangkok by post the next day just in time before we left Thailand. I would like to send special thanks to PALOW. He does his job diligently with ultimate customer satisfaction focus. He should be promoted, every company needs such an employee with top notch quality. Many many thanks to Palow and Hertz. I recommend everyone renting car from Hertz if you are in Phuket airport. Best regards.

Had nothing but the smoothest car pick-up and return. Deposit hold put on billed credit card only to account for collateral or total damage such as irreparable water damage.

Call at least 30 minutes before arriving at the rental in the same parking lot for return. Left the rental car lot less than 3 minutes after arrival. Deposit hold went away just a few days later.

Be sure to get insurance! Driving in Phuket/Thailand is definitely way different than elsewhere and is a great safety net (I'm from the U.S.)

A lot of car rental companies here have bad reviews. Luckily I did not face any issues.
However there are a few things to note. I think almost all car rentals are in domestic terminal. So international travellers need to head down to domestic terminal to pick up the car. It is about 150 metres from international terminal exit.

Returning can be a hassle. You need to call them 30min before arrival and tell them your car number so that they can come out and wait for you. The international departure is in the first floor. I have no idea how to get there by walk with luggage from domestic terminal. Ask them to drop you back to international departure with the car.

I did round off my gas filling during return so that I don't get small change. In the end it was not full tank. The needle was one tick below full. They charged me 400 THB.

Great experience. I booked for an MPV and they gave me an SuV since MPV was not available. Very calm and composed staff. Had a US driving license and that was enough to rent. Very helpful and the return process was smooth (we had to call 10mins before but it was no deal).

Great customer service. Their pick up & drop off is right at the airport, so it was convenient. The car I got was extremely new as well (only 1000km driven).

Great service from start to finish. They have the rental car waiting for you outside arrival gate. Quick inspection and you are off in less than 10 mins. When returning the car, give them a call 15 mins before arriving at airport departure gate 3 and their staff is there waiting to check the car and give you the receipt. Best car rental experience we’ve had in Phuket airport.

A brand new car i got. Collect and return on the same spot, call them 15mins before returning the car. A very detailed inspection of the car when returning it as compared to collecting it, so be sure all car marks are indicated in the form at the point of collection to avoid dispute. A deposit of 10,000 baht is required, which i don't recall it mentioning anywhere.

Low price more than another partner. Good car can support all trip.

Prise en charge à l’aéroport sans problème, véhicule conforme à la commande, en bon état et propre. Au retour, vérification de l’état du véhicule soigneuse mais rapide, par un personnel très sympathique. Seul bémol, l’horaire d’ouverture à 8h00, ce qui n’arrange pas lorsque votre avion décolle à 9h50.
