Amazing museum showcasing the history, culture and developement of Thailand. Several very interesting exhibits with my favourite being the staircase of abandoned clothes!! Many great photo opportunities to be had! Lots of school children visiting on the day of my visit. The museum was not too busy and was very comfortable to walk around.

A cool interactive museum about what it means to be Thai and what "thainess" is. A very interesting modern exposition, where both children and adults hang out for 2-2.5 hours for sure. Lots of details, thoughtful space, interesting interaction with the exhibits! We had a great time, we didn't want to leave. Excellent English audio guide. Friendly service! Totally recommend 🫶🏻

Very well organised museum in a beautiful colonial style building featuring Thainess and other exhibition.

The exhibitions here are well designed and artsy.

The place is clean and educational. Staff is well trained and friendly. Atmosphere was good and somewhat nostalgic for Thais.

Worth a visit...

Located just at Sanam Chai MRT station (blue line) Museum Siam is very convenient to visit. This museum is worth visiting of all Thais and tourist. At the time I visited, The museum theme was "Thainess". This theme is very fun for Thais, as we can see many things in our everyday life that we overlooked, but also for tourists who will be fascinated by multicultural and multi-activity of Thai's daily life. Pls dont miss !!!

"In the beginning, I harbored the notion that the museum would be rather dull, merely showcasing an antiquated representation of Thai identity. As it happened, my initial impressions were completely off the mark. The exhibition exceeded my expectations, seamlessly integrating technology in a way that resonated with individuals from the '90s, much like myself.

While some aspects may challenge personal tastes and beliefs, it is essential to recognize that it presents a truthful narrative. I find solace in the fact that Thailand has, in its own small stride, triumphed over the shackles of obsolescence. This shift is indeed a cause for celebration, marking a positive evolution that I'm pleased to witness."

Wonderful interactive exhibition for those who want to better understand Thailand and what being Thai means. My visit lasted about 3 hours and I enjoyed my time there very much. Almost every room got my attention and gave me the information I wanted. Before leaving the museum, I bought the book of the exhibition because it is very well done as the exhibition itself.

This is good place to learn about Thai culture, nearby Wat Pho and Grad Palace. You can combine on your tour. 100B for each person and free ticket for above 60 years old. They have free students uniforms for photoshoot. And amazing transformation show.

They organize special events sometimes. It is very convenient to get there(get off at MRT Sanam Chai station, exit 1). I was actually there for the Knowledge Book Fair (besides buying books, I wanted to try the runner-up of World Kaphrao Thailand Grand Prix 2023 (Jitsodchuen: จิตสดชื่น). The event lasts until 18 Feb 2024.

The night museum festival is ongoing in Bangkok, yeay! From 15-24 December. And Museum Siam is my first visited museum in this city. And I think this museum will be a good choice. I love the architecture, the park in the backyard, the educational materials, and all the helpful staffs.

An awesome and interesting museum, which is also something for usually non museum visiting people and I can confirm the following from their website:

"The Decoding Thainess, which features 14 exhibition zones that leads to exploring all aspects of Thainess and its constant evolution from the past to present. Encompassing historical, architectural, traditional, culinary and clothing perspectives among others, the exhibition is impressively presented by using advanced technology and unconventional storytelling method that suit today’s needs of people and their media consumption behaviors."

An audio-guide in several languages can be used for free.

Entrance for public is 200baht, and for student 50baht (you only need to show your student card). And then i borrowed the headphone and recording for audio accompaniment when you walk through the 12 parts of the exhibition. You'll need at least 2 hrs or more to explore inside and outside part of the Museum (the backyard is beautiful!)
