Wat Chai Mongkol is located almost at the end of Pattaya South Road - about 450 meters from the main beach and the entrance to the famous entertainment district on Walking Street.
It was built around 1937. A monk on a pilgrimage set up his tent on the site where this beautifully decorated temple now stands.
The impressive and ornate temple has a prayer hall with an interesting four-sided roof. This houses a Chinarat Buddha image and a Chai Mongkol Buddha statue from Ayutthaya, which is more than 350 years old and dates from the Sukhothai era.

Many people are amazed that a royal temple is located in this district. Wat Chai Mongkol is located almost at the end of Pattaya South Road - about 450 meters from the main beach and the entrance to the famous entertainment district on Walking Street.

Of course, the temple was here long before tourists! It was built around 1937. A monk on a pilgrimage set up his tent on the site where this beautifully decorated temple now stands.

Locals responded to the monk's presence by building houses and other structures. Finally the temple was built. The original name was Wat Thap Phraya.

A large beautiful temple. I visited only in the outside area of the buildings. It's a very beautiful complex and the territory is large.

Many markets just opposite of this temple.

I went around 6 pm on Tuesday but I couldn’t enter inside buildings. It is a large beautiful temple. I visited outside of the buildings and I enjoyed it.

Very beautiful complex, the territory is large, beautifully decorated. You can go inside and have a look, but like everywhere else in temples you need to cover your shoulders and legs

Occupying a large site it provides a stark contrast to the rather seedy side of Pattaya very nearby. Judging by the size of the accommodation blocks, there must be alot of Monks living here. A few interesting temple buildings on this site two of which you can go inside. Large controlled parking area on the Temple site also.

Peaceful temple with variety way to pray 🙏🏻 I came here couple times before on the night time for meditation on Buddhist holiday. The place is nearby city centre, so it's pretty close with everything with a lot of parking lots.

Best place for parking if you want to visit the walking way. But better take a grab. You really don't want to experience the traffic 😄

Beautiful Place, came to have a peace for 1 hour.
Located right in Central Pattaya, the temple isn't big.

Very nice pagoda/temple near the local market.

I had a nice experience to do almsgiving early morning. Basically preparing food, waiting and handing them to the monks; it is a kind of traditional activities in Buddhist.
