That’s the best Thai restaurant in this area. Most recommended fish in the soy sauce and soft crab in paper. And for sure, full-flavored Tom-yum. Delicious and authentic flavor at a very affordable price. Very friendly staff.

Food was extremely well priced. I had various soft shell crab and it was presented very well and tasted as good as it looked. And you could taste the difference between my chosen orders

The food is the best we've had in/near Fisherman's Village. We've come here multiple times. Highly recommend the tamarind sea bass, soft shell crab, and panang. But we've not had a single bad or mediocre dish here. The mango sticky rice is also absolutely fabulous! Sooo much better than the one from the night markets!

One of my favourite restaurants on the planet, I have been coming back there 2 times a day for the 5 weeks I spent in Koh Samui!

This place is a must if you are visiting Koh Samui! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Tom yum soup + soft shell crab were to die for. Presentation is also 10/10.

The restaurant was pleasant, the food was delicious. The servers greeted us with smiling faces, and they remembered that my partner doesn't eat coconut. During our second visit, they provided advance notice for dishes containing coconut.

This place and their food is nothing but amazing. My husband and I have been eating here almost everyday for weeks, and we just can’t get enough.

The Food is delicious and the service is friendly. We ate here several times and were very happy every time!
It is a bit loud, because it's next to the main street, but you can also sit inside.

Food was absolutely yummy. If you're looking for value meets food quality without the touristy price increase of fisherman's wharf, this is the place you need to go.

It's not to far from Fisherman's Village and is typically not too busy either. Your not coming here for the atmosphere, but really great Thai food, and excellent service. 5 stars all the way.

We were lucky enough to find this restaurant and ate there 4 more times, trying various dishes on their substantial menu. All the food was off a high quality, with good portion size at a reasonable price. The staff were lovely too and nothing was too much trouble for them. My favourites were Tom Yum soup with chicken(prawn was great too) and also the Penang curry, my wife's favourite was the chicken with cashew nuts. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We loved Mr Kai Kitchen enough to return a second time, and may be back again in our 5-day stay. All the food was consistently delicious and we tried different dishes the second time to experience different flavours. We recommend getting at least 3 dishes for 2 people so you can try different things. It’s a family-run business and the staff are welcoming, professional, and friendly.

Our favourite dishes were the panang curry, mango sticky rice, fish cakes, and fried banana. That being said, we had trouble picking favourites because everything was phenomenal.

So many good things to say about this place.

First the food is excellent, it is fresh and great tasting.

The cost is very reasonable.

We walked from our hotel to Mr. Kai Kitchen, the street sidewalk is not like the typical tourist situation, no frills no neon light, keep following Google Map and u will find a small cafe style Air Conditioned restaurant. U can also see Mr. Kai cooking on the exterior side of the restaurant, when u enter the restaurant you will be greeted by Mrs. Kai, smiley, friendly and humble. This place is own and run by husband and wife, the place is very clean, very comfortable, all the simple, basic necessities all checked! The food was amazing, local authentic taste, piping hot, and well balanced on the pallet.
Since this is a very small restaurant, there’s only about 8 tables. No reservation needed but if u are a big group, u shld call ahead.
We went a bit greedy with our food options, as we were hungry and excited. The price of every dish is just a small fraction of hotels menu, but the flavor/dishes are the big fraction of the food memories we got!
A whole fish cooked however u like, at 300 Baht is amazing! Other dishes were between 100-180 Baht. Beverage option were basic and good enough. They even hv wine by the glass lol!
Go give the local small family run business some support, and experience the beauty of local hospitality and flavors! I am planning to eat there again before we leave Samui.

Visited again after two years; noticed they relocated, and the restaurant is now larger and newer. The food remains excellent, though I'd prefer authentic Thai spiciness when asking for it very spicy, not a fake "farang" low spicy level. 😂🌶😁

Delicious, fresh Thai food served nice way and very friendly atmosphere. Pomelo spicy salad is outstanding - you should definitely try it! Last but not least - nice waitress made me mango smoothie with rum at my special request :)

On our first day in Koh Samui, we had dinner and ordered yellow curry chicken rice and fried garlic chicken rice.

To our pleasant surprise, both dishes turned out to be incredibly delicious. The portion sizes were quite generous, satisfying our appetites.

While parking might be a bit challenging, there is a large empty space right in front of the shop. If you're driving or riding, you can conveniently park across the road.

Excellent food. Found it on Google maps, so glad we trusted the reviews. Mr Kai's did not disappoint. We were in Samui for 3 full days. If we didn't do the national park tour we would have eaten there 3 times.
