A must see in Samui. Only a couple of seats on the main platform to sit and meditate, or can sit on the floor. Many bells that you can ring, listen to the different tones, some are sweet, some dissonant, like life. Good viewpoint for sunset is the road leading to Big Buddha.

I really enjoyed my visit here. I was not expecting much but, positively surprised once I arrived. The temple itself is beautiful and spans across multiple levels. At the top where the large Buddha Statue is situated you have a nice view of the surrounding area. Around the temple there are some souvenir shops and small kiosks and cafes to get some refreshments.

Beautiful place to visit and take some pictures. We made an offering of flowers and lit a candle, great to have a quiet moment and contemplate. View is also amazing when you are up at the Golden Buddha.

The Big Buddha Temple has the most enormous Buddha in Ko Samui. They had lots of visitors today when we were there. The temple looks beautiful, and the Big Buddha sits solemnly on the high platform. So many people are going up the stairs to pay respect to the Big Buddha.

It's definitely a must-see location on Samui. 10 min ride from the airport. You can grab a lunch with a see view, shop local arts, and visit Big Buddha temple. Views are stunning. Food is delicious and well priced. Parking was plenty on a Sunday. It is free.

It is one of the main attraction in Koh Samui. This beautiful 40 feet tall statue was built in 1972 on Koh Fan island which was attached to Koh Samui subsequently. Buddha is religious GOD of Thai culture. One should dress properly before visiting. A little respect is expected. If you sit quietly for few minutes then mind becomes very calm in this serene ambiance. In the afternoon the steps become very hot. There are quite a few souvenir and local food stalls nearby in the temple complex.
Not to be missed...

A must visit spot if you are in Koh Samui. This big Buddha statue overlooks the island and is a must visit spot for tourists looking to witness some culture while in Samui.

If you happen to visit on a clear sky day during the golden hour, you can see a beautiful sunset here.

Obviously a must visit. Really impressive. At the bottom of the stairs, to the left was a buddhist monk handing out bracelets for good luck and sprinkling holy water on you 🙏🏼

I didn't go up the stairs to the buddha as I was wearing shorts but that didn't stop some other tourists. Please be respectful of other cultures and religions. If you really want to go up at least buy a sarong.

The Buddha is really huge and the temple itself is also really pretty. It got a lot off bells on the second floor, which you can ring yourself. But make sure you do it three times.
The shops in front if the temple are very lovely and almost at the entrance you can find a nice predator statue, which is very surprising at such a religious place.

Beautiful bhudda statue on the waterfront of Samui. I do wish that clothing restrictions were enforced in line with other Bhuddist temples, but otherwise, it's worth stopping by. Lots of shops nearby for food and clothes

Beautiful! It was super nice to see this temple. The Buddha is huge and beautiful! It is also free entry which is nice. There are a lot of cute shops around too. The view from the top is amazing! It’s super hot in the direct sunlight so I would recommend going earlier in the morning or in the afternoon :)

This is a beautiful place that is a must-see in Koh Samui. The statue of Buddha is not only beautiful but also enormous in size. Visiting this place is a wonderful experience, and the fact that it is free makes it even more appealing. To reach the Buddha, you'll need to climb a set of huge steps, and once you reach the top, you'll find a collection of huge bells that can be used for ringing. It's an interesting cultural aspect to explore. Additionally, there are golden statues scattered throughout the area, enhancing the overall beauty. As you descend, you'll come across charming houses and small shops selling clothes, providing a great shopping opportunity. Along the riverside, you'll encounter amusing statues that are creatively made with unconventional measurements. It's a delightful sight to behold. Personally, I found this place very enjoyable and highly recommend it.
