Mira Montra, The Beachfront Resort Koh Mak

Very peaceful resort. Rooms are spacious and clean all with great views over the bay, restaurant is good but limited but plenty of local bars and restaurants within 10 min ride. The sea is calm and shallow great for family or couples highly recommended

I have absolutely nothing to complain about. The area is very well maintained. The beach and pool area are idyllic and just to enjoy. All of the staff were always courteous. It was much better than I expected. The hotel is a bit remote, if that can even be said on this island. There is also no shop nearby. Since we rented a scooter for our time there, it wasn't a problem at all.

One of our favourite places we've stayed at this trip. The service is amazing (one staff member could get more training), they served complimentary afternoon tea and breakfast is not bad. The swimming pool area is lovely, could use a couple more deck chairs and maybe more shade, but it is lovely to look over the ocean while you're relaxing at the pool. It was great to have access to loungers on the beach. Take care to apply lots of coconut oil (available at reception) as there are a lot of sandflies. The beach in front of the resort is very clean, but as soon as you move outside of the boundary lines, it is very polluted and dirty, so take care when you go for a walk. They have kayaks and SUPs to use free of charge, which is an added bonus, and scooters can be rented from the resort.

We stayed at 3 resorts on Koh Chang and Koh Mak. This was the best on all of our lists. They staff understand hospitality. The amenities of free use of SUPs, kayaks, life jackets and snorkel gear further show that they understand hospitality for the kind of people staying there. Also they provide protection from bugs and sand flies. They’ve thought of everything. We loved the rooms, and the very room had ocean view. The beach is secluded and quiet. The hotel is small enough that even at full occupancy it still feels laid back and not crowded. Loved every bit of the 4 days!

Absolutely incredible hotel with a private beach with views to die for. I’ve never felt more relaxed than I did in a hammock at the beach here. Staff are wonderfully kind and accommodating and really helped make the stay perfect. Breakfast was great with extensive options and lunch and dinner served at the hotel were very nice, if a little expensive for Thailand (though this is often the case on islands). Food was good as was service. The room was lovely and well decorated in a way which added to the beachfront resort feeling. Could not recommend this place enough, possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I hope to be back one day. If you’re making the trip look out for the very cute and friendly dog on the beach!

I must say that this a very nice resort. They really try hard to keep the beach clean from all the rubbish that keeps coming from the sea. The place is well maintained and proper. Rooms are nice and big and the matras is very good. We slept amazing. Waking up with the sea right in front of you is a dream. The beach is not the best but sufficient. The service of cleaning and staff is amazing. They go out of your way to deliver you a good holiday. They provide rental scooters ad well 300 baht a day with a 1000 baht deposit. Nice place for couples. The pool is big and well maintained. All in all with the visit

Amazing resort! Nice beach and the sea are wonderful. Good food and drinks. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! If you want some peace from a busy life, everyone should consider visiting this island/resort.

In February 23 I have spent a week at the resort together with two friends. First we spent two days in the rooms on the hill, the rest of the time we had the opportunity to stay at a family - villa.

Both accomodations were excellent - well kept and clean. The rooms were cleaned every day and the standard of the furnishings was absolutely fine.

The restaurant offers food and drinks in very good quality (obviously the food is prepared for farang-tastebuds, so not too hot). Like everywhere else meals in the hotel are more expensive than outside. Breakfast is fine - nothing special but a sufficient selection.

The staff is absolutely forthcoming. The pool-area might be a bit crowded sometimes, but there is more than enough space on the beach. As everywhere in Thailand the tides affect the beach quite a bit, but unlike some other destinations here it always is possible to enjoy a swim. Don't forget to bring snorkeling gear - the coral right at the resort are with exploring.

To visit the other areas of the island you will need a taxi or a scooter. Scooters can be rented at the resort for currently 300 Bath (about 8€, 100 Bath more than in the village) and taxis are rather cheap. After 10 pm you will have to phone for a taxi to bring you back to the resort.

My only criticism is the quite worn state of the stand-up-paddelng - boards. On the other hand they are free to rent, so I'll stop complaining straight away.

I will return for sure.

My second stay at Mira Montra and it is one of the best resorts I've ever been to. The welcome from staff is lovely and the service and rooms are unbeatable.

The only thing I would add is that it should be an adults only resort, screaming children can ruin the vibe for those wanting some peace and tranquility.

I stayed 4 nights at Mira Montra and wow! Amazing location, amazing room, amazing pool and private beach. I'm a solo female traveller and had a great relaxing time. The staff were so lovely and really made the stay. A lot of previous reviews mention the food wasn't fantastic, but the dishes I had were very good. I was happily surprised.

Amazing hotel, the rooms, the beach and the restaurants are all clean and super comfortable. The staff is really friendly, professional and helpful. If you look for somewhere to stay in Koh Mak this is the best. The beach and its surroundings are incredible and untouched. You can kayak to Koh Khram easily.

In love with this hotel so far! The attention is great, not sure why people left bad reviews regarding that. They have a complimentary kayak service and complimentary afternoon tea with some snacks that you can enjoy with an astounding sea view.

Overall extraordniary. We really enjoyed our stay there especially the staff was very kind and helpful.
Location is a bit off, renting some kind of transportation is def needed.
Resort restaurant is rather on the more pricey side but very delicious.

Breakfast very average .I requested an omelette in the morning. The staff initially declined my request. Only through my persistentance was my request granted.,Staff appear miserable don't go the extra mile.No greetings on arrival,or in the morning
