Gumm lonely Club Rooms & Cafe

Wonderfull place runned by Gumm and his lovely wife, if everything is the world was like them and their accomodation, the world would be perfect! Highly recommended!!

Wow, what can I say about this place... one of the most lovely places I have been for a laid-back island vibe.
Perfect location set amongst mangroves on a creek with a beautiful deck, decorated with driftwood and other items washed up from the sea.
The owners are what makes the place though, friendly and helpful, they cannot do enough for you and you are made to feel like one of the family.
The room with the deck and ensuite is the best one but don't expect too much - it is not expensive but very clean and comfortable.
Free use of canoes means the beach and local village are in easy reach. And motorcycle to hire means you can explore the island...
You won't want to check out!

Gumm’s guesthouse is the most lovely & special place of Koh Kood.
The most beautiful beach, Neverland beach, is just around the corner if you take the kajak from Gumm (for free)!

A beautiful calm place hidden away behind the street. They make great food, amazing desserts and delicious ice coffee. It's opposite to a mangrove forest and calls for chilling out. It really has the " 🎒 backpacker's vibe"! I've been there for drinks and food only, but they also have a few rooms.

Gumm is a great guy. Very friendly, very funny. And also the food is very delicious. Good place!

Wonderful .... didn’t want to leave but they were fully booked despite low season, otherwise I’d still be there!
Perfect hosts... always smiling and happy to help. Very creative & cool couple..... what a wonderful ambient home they’ve created & share with guests. And so clean!! Art, nature, up-cycling, hammocks & places to chill everywhere. Delicious food (so much better quality than the posh hotels on the island). Fantastic to be right on the lagoon - makes it hard to go out despite a long white sand beach being a minutes walk or kayak away. Had much fun using their kayaks to explore the jungle. Gumm taught me to ride a skooter (thanks I’m getting good now, even my shoulders are relaxed). I was there end of October, perfect sunny weather, yet was able to find waterfalls and beaches all to myself. Jungle, white sands, gin clear waters, great hosts, i was totally drunk on nature & life!
Topped off by sleeping in an authentic Thai homestay ...... why do people go to hotels? You will find so much more here. In Gumms words “a different story” Thanks again for a perfect stay you two .... 🙏

The most special and beautiful cafe we've ever been to. Not only because of the beautiful decor with so much attention to detail, but because of the lovely people running it. Can't recommend enough to visit gumms lonely club.

Life is sweet and easy at Gumm lonely Club. Gumm and Jane were very welcoming. You very quickly feel home there. The surrounding mangrove can be explored by renting their Kayak, and Jane is such an amazing chef.

Gumm Lonely Club is a special place. Simple accommodation and good food in the middle of a mangrove river. Chat with Gumm, take a kayak paddle in the river or to the beautiful beaches close by, enjoy Jian's cooking or just read a book while relaxing on the terrace over the water. Life passes slowly at Gumm's place, so savour it. (Be aware that as of Dec 2016 there's some construction happening close by but it should be finished before long and doesn't affect Gumm's too much)

Surely the most wonderful, simple place to chill with a cafe latte on the island and watch the local river life unfold before you, across to the nearby mangroves and lush hillsides beyond. Remote (and all the better for that), homely, with perfectly gracious hosts. Just lovely. Please go and appreciate the love in every inch of this place.

We had an awesome time at Gumm's and him and Jang his wife were among the most kind and lovable and helpful people we met on our trip. The place itself is perfect for couples who want a quiet and authentic experience of the island. The rooms are super clean, with air con and all you need. The breakfast options were delicious, and he has a bar too from which you can get drinks at any time of the day. He was always available to help us out with other bookings, tips, advices about the island and beyond. He also sorted us with a scooter which was perfect to go around the island. His place, recommendations, and company made us have a dreamy stay on this paradise island that Koh Kut is. I'll see you soon Gumm!

This hand crafted oasis is a hidden gem, charmingly appointed with homely touches and exotic flourishes. Set at the end of a secluded road, Gumm's is a bastion of wonderful hospitality, laid back vibes and oh-so-cool tunes that could be straight out of a Tarantino film score.

An experience to remember

First of all I need to tell that Gumms Lonely Club is not just what you're hoping for. It's gonna be so much better! Why?

First of all because of Gumm and his wife Jeang, the couple running this most charming three room pension of an old fisherman house. They are the most warm, humorous and easy going hosts. Their hospitality make you feel like a special guest while charing their house and their love to Koh Kood. Not to mention Jeang's cooking! Already missing you guys! 😊

Great place with a great host - music selection is superb, food and coffee are delicious, and the whole place is a top spot to chill out. 5/5 recommend!

This is a great place to relax: quiet, very nice people who take good care of you, the food is so good, view on the mangrove, close to a small sandy beach, cosy guesthouse with basic but comfortabel rooms.

We have been awesome 3 nights here: Gum very helpful and kind host and he have such a brilliant cooking skill
