Good old days, I said. Every time that we go to eat at this place, there is a variety of delicious food and the fondest memories of my family dinner. My mother used to order everything and I really enjoyed eating it. LOL. Silom got some of the best dishes that would put most of the restaurants in the area to shame, and the service is outstanding. Well, this restaurant is excellent in all respects.

Pork chop and bread were just awesome as good as they used to be in Silom years ago. The decorations was a replica of Silom restaurant.

Opened before World War II with waiters in white uniforms, you traveled to this restaurant by tram to enjoy its famous ox tail stew & beef steak salad.
Before World War II, Neejiew Sae Phu set up a restaurant in Trok Toh, opposite Assumption College. During the war a fire broke out, forcing the Chinese-Thai to move his eatery to its present location on Silom Road, now known as Soi 15.
It is one of those quaint, slightly antiquated restaurants specialising in Thai and Western food, yet heavily influenced by Chinese style. This particular type of restaurants is known in the vernacular as "cook shop". Silom Restaurant is among the last of its kind, and for its regular customers, the sad news is that the place is closing down at the end of September.
Supattra Dispanurat, 75, is the daughter of the owner who has continued the tradition of serving fine ox tongue stew, beef steak salad, ox tail stew and chicken curry. "Silom Road back then was just a two-lane street with a tram going up and down," says Supattra. Back then, there were no hotels on the road, and people who wanted to eat Western food came here. We had waiters in white uniforms serving people. We also organised weddings and other functions.
On every table there's still a bottle of Worcestershire sauce, an indispensable seasoning that has become a symbol of cook shops.
But Silom has changed, and Silom Restaurant is no longer able to resist. Supattra now remains behind the same counter she has for decades, but come Sept 30, she will serve her last customers. And when they leave the place, she will move the chairs, close the door and turn off the lights - for the last time. Another chapter on Silom will soon be lost forever in time.

Everything is still very tasty like in the days when my mom took me there at Siloam area like more than 45 years ago.
Nowadays my taste bud still recalls the good old time taste that never change over the time. Really appreciate how they can maintain their signature dishes till now. The white hair lady and her senior members are actively welcoming and doing all kinds of services up to the golden old day standard.
What cannot miss is their Pork Chop which you can easily have big portion just for yourself rather than sharing
What a journey of taste over time we have today. Hope my little daughter can remember this taste when she becomes at my age in next 40 years ( if the restaurant is still around ). Good food for lives.

I went to this restaurant whenever I want to feel seclude while having a nice meal. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing most of the time. Honestly this restaurant have relatively few menu in comparison with other restaurant. However, every menu is filled with such high quality. Also, this restaurant has a backdoor parking lots which is a big plus in my book.

An old famous restaurant in Silom road moves to a new location serving a special Sino-European style food. It is believed this food is born out of Chinese chefs who work in old Bangkok hotels under European head-chefs.
