The resort itself is stunning, it is on a hill so there will be a lot of walking up and down hills and steps. We enjoyed the movement and exercise (and for the views itself it’s worth it) for those that don’t want to walk there are constant on site buggies on offer. The pools aren’t big, but pretty, so it’s worth getting up early to get pool beds. The breakfast buffet is the busiest of the day, the food on offer is exceptional. Outside of this I would say on site food is average to good, but we intentionally chose not to eat lunches and dinners on site wanting to take benefit of local small restaurants and food markets. There are plenty to choose from, so cheap and so so tasty. Beach wise the resort run 4 shuttles daily so again easy to access. Room wise, we had the sea pearl and it was worth every penny. Stunning room, huge bathroom and access to a private small pool area connecting onto a pool bar. The room air con and fan is very strong so it’s easy to keep cool but the bathroom doesn’t have this so it can get warm. All of the staff are incredibly friendly, warm and kind.

An absolutely stunning resort. People so polite, friendly always willing to help and make your day. Would definitely recommend here pools are stunning too food very nice. Just take note it's very steep place with lots of steps too but very worth it also they have buggys to take you around the resort free also to beach too.

This is our second time at this beautiful hotel . It’s like staying in a botanical garden . The gardeners keep work incredibly hard . to landscape the resort. One main pool and several smaller ones hidden on the hillside, never feels crowded . I can honestly say the staff at this hotel are 5* The Thai evening buffet is amazing, real attention to detail with delicious Thai food. Bungalow type rooms are scattered around on a jungle clad hillside. The legendary breakfast buffet is wonderful with so much choice, Big shout to May Porch and Sam who have been here for 10 years . They are so welcoming with the famous Thai smile 😀❤We will be back 🙏🙏🙏

Amazing place to stay. Stayed for 5 nights in January. Location is perfect, just slightly away from Karon main area but still within walking distance. Room, facilities and all staff were exceptional and make the staff as comfortable as possible. Spa facilities are excellent and well worth paying the extra (rather then using the places in town!) to feel totally relaxed. Free shuttle buses to your room which run 24 hours is a bonus. We only use the pool nearest to where we were located but it was excellent. Plenty of sun beds and great selection of food and drink to order from the pool bar. Great selection of different food and drink for breakfast and in a beautiful setting.Provided with a takeaway breakfast as we checked out earlier which was a nice touch. Would 100% recommend staying here if you want to chill out and relax 😊

This place is an unbelievable experience. The staff go above and beyond with any request. The room is very modern and air con is good. We stayed in 2136 and this had beautiful views and was an ideal location. I will recommend this place to my friends and family.

The best bit about this hotel apart from the good scenery and rooms is the staff, they make you feel any issue of yours is theirs. Kudos !

A beautiful location - this resort gives a local flare, a location you can walk to and from (albeit with hills), and a view. Our room was spectacular and we spent many hours just enjoying the views and comfort of panoramic views both jungle and ocean.

The 5 pools are great - different vibes at each spot.

Food can be a little pricy compared to going off property, but convenience helps.

We booked a room that opens onto the pool. I would definitely recommend one like this or a room above overlooking the pool. It's an expansive site but you never feel crowded as it is so cleverly laid out. Each pool has a swim up bar and there is a happy 2 hours where drinks are half price in the afternoon!
There are buggies that take you to your rooms at any time of the day or night so you never have to climb the steep slopes, and coming down to the restaurant or reception is easy. The service is first class, we asked for extra clothes hangers and they delivered them within minutes.
The cleanliness of the site and the pools is amazing. Dining on the balcony of the Thai Restaurant as the sun went down was magical and the food very tasty. The service was outstanding.
It's a short walk to Karon Beach. The hotel does offer a shuttle 4 times a day but it is easier to walk and then you are not time restricted. You also get to pass places where you can get your laundry done if needed, and book tours.
The lady on dispatch who organises the taxis is brilliant and recommended some really good places to go. They'll make sure you get the experience you are looking for.

Exceptional hotel. This was booked for us on behalf of Trailfinders and it is the best resort I have ever stayed in. We couldn't find one fault with the place.

The location is so high up you need a driver to take you to your room - which is fine. It promises amazing views and atmosphere throughout the hotel. But it is nice to be out of the way but close enough to Karon.

Our room was spotless and everything in place, you even get dressing gowns, flip flops, a beach bag, towels and umbrellas to borrow throughout your stay. No touching up needed anywhere. The plantation is also beautiful, it feels like you are staying in a jungle.

Every member of staff has been excellent and the breakfast has been very tasty too - for someone not keen on breakfast, there was always something for me to try everyday. The iced/cold coffees at breakfast were a game changer!

All pools are lovely and relaxing. Food and drink prices are quite steep, but the pool bars offer happy hour between 4-6 making a cocktail cost around 120BHT.

We loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Me and my wife had a wonderful five days here. It's perfectly located. Just off the main drag, be warned it's a bit hilly but they do have little shuttle cars to run you about the staff are excellent and nothing seems to be too much trouble always smiling and friendly. There are five swimming pools each with a bar serving food they can get a bit busy and there are the usual idiots putting towels on sun loungers at 6 in the morning despite signs saying not to do so but it's only a short walk to the beach and an abundance of local restaurants which serve anything from genuine Thai to fish and chips, the traffic can be busy but the main danger seems to come from tourists hiring mopeds not locals we will definitely be back given the chance 😀

A nice hotel with villas in a tropical garden on a hillside.
The whole hotel is like a nice garden with abundant tropical vegetation which is also well maintained.
Several beautiful pools.
Delightful washing products.
Very fast internet.

Not suitable for people with mobility problems, because the hotel's territory is located on a steep hillside and there are a lot of stairs.
It was a bit difficult to navigate the territory, because there is no direct road from point A to point B, the roads meandered up and down the hillside in a big curve, and the footpaths with stairs were also zigzag between the villas. It was exciting to walk, but physically quite taxing.
Breakfast was in the restaurant with a nice view and a large selection, but there were too few Asian foods.
The room (Panoramic Deluxe Room) was a good size. There were no shelves for storing clothes in the closet, you can only hang clothes on a hanger.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the beach, we had a car, but it seemed that the hotel also organized transportation to the beach a few times a day.
The gym was quite small.
The soundproofing in the rooms is poor.
The slippers were very poor.

We chose this hotel because of the tropical garden as a change from other hotels on the beach during our trip and we were satisfied with the choice.

Mandarava Resort is the epitome of luxury blended with authentic Thai charm. Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Phuket, we were greeted with warm hospitality and breathtaking views. The accommodation was luxurious, the food was delicious, and the amenities were top-notch. Special shout out to Taneung - he had fantastic DJing skills!

This was our first trip to Asia, and what an absolutely lovely experience we had at the Mandarava Resort and Spa. The service is first class, with every member of staff working very hard to ensure you have the best time, and even predicting your needs before you realise what they are! Absolutely stunning pools that never feel too crowded, even during peak season. Wonderful spa too with excellent Thai massages. Beautiful Karon Beach is only a 15 minute walk away. The rooms are beautifully spacious with a daily cleaning service. I would absolutely stay here again. :)

Sal & the rest of the F&B team were so lovely and attentive during our stay. They always looked after us whether it be for breakfast or dinner and the food was really tasty. The rooms are extremely clean and we chose a room that had its own pool entrance & loungers which I would highly recommend! The only downfall is that it it set on a hill which can be tricky for older or people with limited mobility. However there are always drivers to take you to/from your room if needed

Absolutely perfect! I write a lot of negative reviews because it’s important to warn people, so here I want to balance it out and say STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!! We actually came here after staying in a luxury 5 star boutique hotel and let me tell you…this was so much better! The staff are amazingly kind. They go out of their way to say hello, to be helpful, to do anything for you! Our room 1123 was stunning. The best room we’ve had in the 3 weeks we’ve been across Thailand. It was right by a gorgeous little adult pool, and the AC and fan made it feel so cozy. Stunning high ceiling, wrap-around balcony, a mini fridge stocked with free daily bottles of water..just perfect. Our room had TWO bathrooms! One just had a bathtub in it, how posh! The TV had really awesome channels - one night we watched a show about a guy who observes wolves in the wilderness to see which are extinct ..he found a wolf-coyote hybrid that night and he said it so unique, although you could tell he was hoping for an extinct wolf. If that doesn’t do it for you, there’s a Paramount channel that plays Hollywood movies too! Hello Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman in Friends with Benefits, anyone? I’m just saying it’s nice to have a break from weird Thai daytime soaps where three guys try to find out whose butt the banana went into the night before. Anyway, the breakfast was pretty good..there’s a Thai food area, a ‘non adventurous’ area, and then the usual (fruits/cereals/juice etc). There’s a roti station where they make banana roti (so good!) and a noodle soup station that’s quite good. The coffee wasn’t the best but there’s a 7-Eleven that’s about a 10 min walk and the coffees there were fabulous! There’s also a beautiful coffee shop in the reception centre that easily rivals Starbucks. The reception area is decorated beautifully with Instagrammable leather and orange wicker chairs, cream coloured plants, and vases that would make Frasier jealous. There are lots of steps in the hotel so if you’re feeling lazy or stoned after enjoying a blunt at one of the weed shops across the road (very cozy!) then you’ll have a bit of a challenging time, but overall, it’s absolutely fine! There are beautiful birds around, beautiful plants, it’s quiet and serene and in a perfect location just a stone’s throw to the beach. It is great value for money and I just can’t recommend it enough!!! I wish we could go back!!!

Mandavara Resort has set a new benchmark in hospitality for me. From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of amazing, particularly the reception team and Judi, who, in my opinion, is a stellar candidate for General Manager. Having traveled the world, I can confidently say that the service here surpasses even five-star standards. While there's room for a bit of variety in the food menu, the quality was still commendable. The villa we rented, along with two superior rooms, were exceptional - spacious, well-appointed, and just perfect for my family. The warmth and care extended to us were genuinely overwhelming, making our stay memorable. Mandavara Resort isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience I wholeheartedly recommend!

Awesome hotel with 5 pools. Service was great, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was also good especially the coffee corner and fresh fruits and juices every day. All pool areas are amazing. There is a motorbike rental and some good restaurants close to the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay

Great resort, was disappointed with Karon. If you stay here as a base get out to see more of the island and enjoy different areas. Kata just up the coast was much nicer. But the resort, pools, staff and food was all really good and would stay at the resort again. Shuttles to town and even around the resort as it is on a hill. We never once walked back to the room when we returned to the hotel there was always someone there insisting they take us to our rooms, which was nice.

Would give you more than 5 stars if I could! Everything about our stay was beyond fantastic! You helped make our honeymoon a once in a lifetime experience! Thank you. Seaside Pearl room with pool access... perfect for honeymooners and couples! Highly recommend! Great location. Can walk to Karon beach or take the shuttle provided by the resort.

One word…Wow! If you’re considering booking here, consider no more and book.

Mandarava is huge, you can and will get lost. That’s okay because they have an all-star buggy service that can pick you up and take you around the resort.

The staff are nice and will do whatever they can to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. The rooms are clean and spacious. I was first in a Panoramic Deluxe room and then I downgraded to the Horizon Deluxe room. Both are nice!

Breakfast is good, they have an expansive selection. The restaurant food is decent but the drinks are disappointing and overpriced. In general, the food in the restaurant is overpriced compared to surrounding restaurants.

They offer complimentary yoga and meditation. I didn’t do the yoga but the meditation was nice, it’s beginner level so everyone feels welcomed.

The beach and the main strip are about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Overall, I recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway at a resort.

We spent eight days in Mandarava resort and spa and had a wonderful relaxing time in this lovely resort. The staff is very friendly, our room (swim up) was very nice and always clean and the resort had a very calm and relaxing atmosphere! We especially liked the views to the ocean and the tropical garden. We will for sure come back for our next vacation in Thailand.
