Chon Thai Restaurant

Beautiful restaurant located inside the Siam Hotel, serving local Thai food. The building is traditional Thai architecture. Which along with the garden and the river view is what gives this resturant its enchanting energy.
I ordered the green curry chicken was delicious as well as the chayote leaves with pork. There's two options for rice, jasmine or brown rice, of which portions are very generous. The service was prompt and friendly. The most beautiful is the atmosphere. Located next to Chao Phraya river you get to enjoy the river scenery. There's a small indoor section with AirCon. We went in the afternoon and it was very warm, but we still opted to sit outside in the shaded area. They have a garden section from which you can enjoy your meal or drinks alfresco. And a couple of private areas for group dinner on the upper level of the building. The place is trully a little oasis in Bangkok. The whole premises of the hotel are beautiful. Coming back? Certainly! 😀

The ambience is quite nice next to the river, with pleasant breeze. Those who attract mosquitoes should ask for a spray. The service was prompt, attentive and discreet. The food took awhile but was well prepared and quite savory. My Mom who is quite demanding felt the taste was about right. As for the price, well it’s in a 5 star hotel so don’t expect any value. The place also has a private room for those celebrating special occasions. So if you want a nice restaurant by the river with privacy and good food then this place is well worth the visit. It did take a while to walk through the hotel to get there but it’s a fine hotel with old Siam design and great for photo op.

A special experience with a Riverside restaurant. Recommended to come to have dinner will have the most romantic atmosphere, delicious food, mocktails and cocktails are good as well.

Impressive dinner, we had a beautiful moment here. Service is 5 stars, staffs are professional, polite and friendly. Don't hesitate to visit here, it's a magical place, doesn't like each othet. We will joy again, see you next time.

Outstanding service, ambience and yes Thai food and beautifully crafted cocktails. The pork ribs is probably the best I’ve tasted in Thailand. This restaurant is like heaven on earth.

Excellent food. Very good service. A definite hidden classy gem. We went with 8 adults and two 3 yr old. Everything was flawless. About 1k baht per head. The place was designed mix between colonialism and old Thai and it is situated on the bank of river so the view was perfect. Highly recommended 👌

Great date location or just special friends dinner near the river. Very quite and the food is amazing (massaman beef is highly recommended). The staff are of amazing quality. The place is on the pricey side and is expected.

Was fortunate to have a wide selection of dishes while soaking in the atmosphere at Siam Hotel. If you have time, explore the entire hotel compound, which is a museum in its own right.

Upscale place with lots of delicious Thai and international appetizers, dishes, deserts and drinks. A little bit hard to find, you need to walk through the siam hotel and the garden at the rear end of the hotel to reach the riverside restaurant. I visited three times in total, every time there were very little people in the early afternoon. The food was a little bit expensive but delicious (especially the Thai cousine and fish dishes. Personell was very friendly and discrete.

I would definitely recommend to check this place out!

We are the only table when we dine there. The food was awesome which they serve western and Thai together. Luckkly when we dinw there the atmosphere was pleasant with a mild temperature.

It's expensive . Yes, a $200 Sydney AU meal will cost you $100 with alcohol. But impeccable. Food, service, setting, impecable. It is located in the Siam Hotel on the river. Again, Bangkoks highest echelon, but impcable. Best Thai Pork Ribs one could imagine, so to Tom Ca Gai, and carwfully dressed ice cream. I suspect all dishes are up to the mark.

Attached to The Siam Hotel, this place is beautiful. We had a variety of dishes and all were fabulous. Service was brilliant. The drinks are very expensive in comparison to the food though, so beware! Was very quiet when we visited.

Expensive, but very good. Everything we had was delicious. We went with the set menu, many appetizers and main courses. Even the after dinner coffees were spot on. The locale is quite picturesque, and quiet. This is a great location for special occasions.
