For us, Hip Resort was a positive experience.

I'll start with the view, which is breathtaking; we loved our breakfast and dinner on the terrace. I wouldn't recommend it to people who aren't very fit or disabled because this little paradise is only accessible by stairs. There's a lift for luggage.

It's located in Long Beach, a 10-15 min by boat from the pier, a beautiful and not very crowded beach, perfect for snorkeling; you can even swim to Shark Point. Transportation to the hotel and back to the pier is provided by the hotel only for arrival and departure.

There are always boats available just outside the hotel for an additional cost to reach the pier. It's also possible to walk for 45-50 minutes, but we preferred the boat, especially since it was affordable and very hot. The beach is quite long and offers various options: mini supermarkets, restaurants, massages, paddle boarding, kayaking, and scuba diving so you don’t really need to go to the centre unless you want something specific.

The rooms are spacious, with sublime sea views, and cleaned daily.

The staff is super friendly and always ready to help.

To summarize, if you're looking for a relaxing place with a beautiful beach that's not too expensive, this is the perfect place.
If you’re not ready for daily exercise and want to be close to the nightlife this may not be the place for you.

The hotel is located at top of a mountain, a bit of a walk up to the top, but well worth it if you’re looking for views. The bungalows are spacious, clean, and a wonderful place to stay when you’re not on the beach. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the staff is more than willing to help in any situation. It only takes about 10 minutes to take a small ferry/taxi boat to the main TOWN and they’re readily available. Overall a great experience I would recommend it.

HIP is great. Our room was amazing with outstanding views of the islands, and the resort team was always very attentive. The breakfast was good, not a huge amount of variety. Location allows for great views, but it comes with a number of stairs.

Best place ever ! The view is incredible, yes there's a lot of stairs to go up everything you go in town, but it's the only downside I promise you. The food is good, the employees are the best and the view at sunrise or sundown.....It's a magical place, I recommend it 100%. You will not be disappointed !

HIP Seaview resort is the optimal choice is you’re looking for a calm and relaxing time on Koh Phi Phi. The hotel offers nice rooms, good breakfast and a super friendly and helpful staff. There’s always vacant sunbeds just outside of the hotel and the beach is super nice and not at all crowded. Also very cool to snorkel with sharks, Nemo and other rare fish just outside the beach!

It’s easy and fairly cheap to get to the Phi Phi center if you’re looking for more restaurants but Long Beach offers a ok selection, they just close quite early. The hotel arranges transfer for free from and to the pier when you check in and out.

Sure, the stairs is a good workout, but definitely worth it considering what the hotel and area has to offer overall. There’s is however a small lift for your luggage! But don’t book if you’re disabled, elderly or generally unfit.

Phi Phi is a remote island with all the actions happening in the middle. This resort is the end of the island and top of the mountain.

For people looking for calmness and majestic views then this is the place for them. Its almost 30-40 min walk from center and since Phi Phi dont have any cars, only way to commute is to use water taxis.

The villas are bit old and had to take some stairs to reach out to the resort. People who have problem walking stairs, this place is not recommended.

Do you want to visit a piece of paradise? Do you prefer serenity over party? Can you handle a 160 step stairway?
… then I REALLY recommend HIP resort.

TL;DR
Incredible view over the bay, friendly staff, clean bungalows, well kept premises, premium beds, excellent breakfast, long white beach, best snorkeling.

We (5 adults) have stayed a week and have already extended the stay one more week. We have been to Thailand a number of times over 30 years and this place has all what we came here for.

*Location*
HIP and its Long Beach has a “small piece of paradise feeling” rather than the Phi Phi party mood. You will not even know that the base is pumping over at Tonsai pier.
All the bungalows are situated on the top of a steep hill, guarded by the dreaded 160 step stairway. Don’t worry - I am 60 years, weighing in at 100 kg and didn’t mind. Just take your time going up. Maybe a stop now and then to catch your breath - and loose it again over the breathtaking view!
Going down is easy and the stairway ends right on the beach where you’ll find a PADI diving center and several restaurants and bars.
You will arrive and leave with a complimentary long-tail boat from/to the Tonsai pier, so communicate your plans to the staff. For other occasions there is a 35-45 min walking path, or 100B/pax taxi boats - 150B after sunset. We walked there and took a night boat back.

*Bungalows*
The houses are well kept, cleaned every day and we experienced no insects what so ever in the bungalows. Out in the lovely garden and at the bars and restaurants you might need a mosquito repellant in the early morning and in the evening (sold in the reception).
The cheaper rooms have “garden view”, but if you are willing to pay for a seaview, you sure will get your moneys worth!

*Restaurant*
The breakfast (included in price) has fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, pancakes, different styles of egg, fresh juice, and great coffee. I seldom have better breakfast anywhere. It is not a buffet, you tick off your choices on a menu. Self service of strong coffee and fresh juice.
Few guests have their dinners at the hotel or use their bar, as the beach has more of an evening atmosphere. The hotel is currently extending the terrace with the best sunset view, so this could change. We did have one dinner in the hotel restaurant - the food proved to be excellent (one of us stated that it was her best so far) and the plates were nicely decorated.

*Staff*
Everyone is friendly and helpful. If you meet them with a smile you will find that they happily help you with whatever you might need. For more complicated matters, you will find the few fluent English speaking staff in the reception or in the restaurant.
They helped us with going to a good local doctor, transfer arrangements, many minor things and even lended us cash before we had the time to visit the ATM at Tonsai pier.

*Beach*
The beach is called Long Beach for a reason and has that white sand and green-blue sea that you have dreamt of. Watch out for the sea urchins on the stone bottom outside the sand, especially at low tide.
There are long-tail boats frequently passing by just outside the beach - don’t let them irritate you, they are part of the scenery.
Mama’s Kitchen is perfect for a lunch snack and The Beach resort has the best food for dinner.

*Snorkeling*
I am an avid snorkeler and I prefer hotels with a house reef. HIP has the famous reef Shark Point just outside the beach! I just came back from an early morning snorkeling tour - a wonderful experience, I saw 50+ different marine life forms, among them the Black-tipped reef sharks that gave the reef its name.
Swim out to the reef at 7am and lie still for 20 minutes in the gap between the two outer visible parts, and you will almost be guaranteed to see several of the shy sharks.
You need to be careful on the 50-100m swim over to the reef as there are long-tail boats crossing your path. They’ll watch out for you too, but be safe.

You’re the guest in paradise for a limited time; be kind, smile to everyone and make sure you enjoy it. Sawadee!

It sit on a hill on long beach, take 40min for a trail to the town. Except for that, everything else is perfect. The staff is so nice and friendly, the room is clean and have superb view.
Worth it.

This is an excellent hotel, in a great location, quiet from the mess of the mainland. People complain about the stairways, but we found it super great for our exercise, given how we can't do much while traveling. Each day, we would run up and down the stairs five times for cardio. The staff is efficient and very matter of fact. There is no lunch and laundry service, so keep that in mind. The boat taxis are easy, but we also very much enjoyed taking the 30 minute walk into town daily. In the evenings, we took the boat taxi back after dinner. We never ate at the hotel, but opted for food along the beach and in town. Overall, this is an excellent deal but you have to really know what you are getting yourself into: no laundry, no lunch service, lots and lots of stairways.

The location is amazing, the views from the eatery is gorgeous. The captains are very nice and capable even in adverse weather conditions. There are a lot of stairs (145 according to other reviews) but there are breaks between flights, so long as you don’t have mobility issues you should be fine. There is a pulley cart for luggage, so don’t worry about your belongings. The staff and owner are all very friendly. Breakfast includes a range of options (pancakes, eggs, sausage/bacon, congee, muesli, fruit and yoghurt) and you can order as much as you want (within reason). The restaurant serves dinner but not lunch, and is passable. The rooms can be a bit unusual for some( there is no door between the bedroom and the sink, but there is one between the sink and toilet). The comments about the rooms being on stilts are ridiculous - it is completely normal and safe in this part of the world, and most hotels on the island will feature this. The cats which hang around are simply adorable and very friendly and they are treated very well by the staff.

Thank you Hip Seaview Resort for such a lovely stay ❤❤❤

This is an amazing place…
The views from our bungalow were STUNNING. There is plenty of space in the bungalow, the AC is fully working, the bed is comfortable and has mosquito net. We did not have any issues with bugs.
The staff is super friendly and smiling 😉
There are lovely cats hanging around - for a cat lover it will be a paradise 🤓
The breakfasts are just enough - just a hint from my side to the staff: think more about vegetarians, a person should be able to select veggies or cheese instead of meat.
There is a complimentary taxi to the center when coming and leaving the resort. Otherwise, 100 or 150 THB per person. We went there once and it was enough for us 😅 Too crowdy and polluted.

To sum up, I recommend it to people who want to isolate and enjoy beautiful views. There isn’t much happening on the beach, and most places close at 9pm.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Always had a long-tail boat into town available for 100 baht each. Free shuttle to and from check in / check out back to the pier. Comfiest bed we’ve stayed in so far, A/C worked great. Nice calm area, quiet bungalow, and nice beach. Lots of stairs but we didn’t mind (burned off some of the extra calories from food and drinks!)

Also, they will carry your luggage up and down the stairs in an elevator.

Best view you can get of the island. Clean room and good service. Only issue is you need to climb a lot of stairs to reach the resort so be prepared for that. And I wish they would put a door to the bathroom..

We've read other reviews about the stairs so we're slightly worried about them but they are completely fine. It isn't a long journey at all and you don't have to take your luggages up and down as the staff takes care of it using a special lift for that.

The staff are extremely kind, nice, helpful and hard working!
We lost our headphones around the stairs and two of them (Mew - the main manager - and Fat) spent probably a good hour ripping out plans just to help us find them. They managed to find the headphones after we had already given up!

Regarding the location, the resort isn't in the Tonsai area so the only way to getting in and out is by taking the local boat. But there's always one around for you to take (100 baht during the day and 150 baht after the sunset), plus the resort organises a free check-in and a check out boat from/to Tonsai.

(Ps: there is a path that you can take to get to Tonsai and back to the resort, but we wouldn't recommend it as it isn't made for tourists to be taking it, specially after if it rains)

Overall, this is an excellent resort. Very clean, amazing staff and beautiful location!
We'll recommend it to our friends and family, and will definitely come back again in the future.

We haven’t even left yet but I cannot help myself but to post how happy we are with our stay at HIP. We were nervous about traveling to Phi Phi while the country is still closed to tourists, but we are so happy we made the trip, and even happier that we had HIP to help us!
From the moment they picked us up, they were so helpful with telling us what was still open and how the island was operating with minimal tourists. They offered amazing breakfast daily and we also enjoyed several dinners here.
They have been consistently quick to offer advice on what to do for the day (given some rainy days and minimal openings) and have been so helpful arranging for us to get around.
The room is so nice and clean. They all seem to have great views so you can’t go wrong. The rooms have NETFLIX, which was great for the rainy nights in. Warm shower, comfy bead, air on, what more could you need?
Yes, there are a lot of stairs, but once you get to the top you will be greeted by friendly faces and an incredible view (and a welcome drink + cold towel at check in) so it is worth it. Long Beach is lovely and quiet.
We were told at check in that we would be treated like family, and that has definitely held true. We would absolutely return to HIP, with friends next time too!

My gf and I really enjoyed our stay here! We stayed in bungalow #16 and had a great sea view. Our room was super clean and comfortable with a very effective air conditioning unit 😊 The place has aspects that are a bit run down (mostly around the walk up - which takes about 3min and is really not too bad if you’re generally mobile) and that’s probably why it’s cheaper than its neighbors (and the reason behind some of the more negative reviews). For those looking for a more luxurious stay, you can go next door and stay at the Phi Phi Beach Resort (at a higher price of course). For us, we were more than happy at HIP and would come again 😊

Extra note: the resort is located at the end of Long Beach. The beach is stunning and much more relaxed than the pier area. Would highly recommend for those looking for tranquility and a more zen holiday.

There are no cars or scooters on the island so the only way to access the hotel/Long Beach is by long-tail boat from Tonsai pier (Thb 100-200/person) or a 45 min walk. The hotel offers free boat service for check in and check out. No need to book it, there’s only one way into the island so they’ll just be waiting for you 😉

The hotel is also located a 2 min swim away from Shark Point for those interested in free snorkeling with sharks (we even saw Nemo on the way!).

Even this hotel is the end of a long beach but it is natural, good view and peaceful.

Happy breakfast and a lot of options to choose.
clean and delicious.
Friendly staff.

I like this place so much, I ll come back again.

I saw a negative comments and complains but i ll recomment them to better stay in the city like Bangkok or other city not a natural and easy going place like this hotel. Study a hotel information before make a reservation.

We've pleased to be attended by the kindness and charmness of the hotel staff in this fantastic hotel up in the cliff in Phi Phi. As it's located out of 'the town' they'll pick you up from the pier in their long tail boat and after the 146 stairs you will enjoy the great views of the ocean with eagles and seagulls flying over your head. The rooms are simple but with everything you need and the mattress is so comfortable. The breakfasts and lunches were so good with no too much options but all delicious (including home made pizza). The hotel provides you also kayak for rent to paddle and snorkeling around the famous Shark Point or if you wanna relax just stay in the long beach just downstairs. A totally worthy visit.

The HIP Seaview resort was absolutely beautiful. There are normally a lot of comments on this island about partying and music but there is absolutely no partying and music on the side of the island. The resort itself was beautiful. I was staying here for a couple days for my birthday and we rented one of the villas overlooking the ocean. What an amazing view! The condo features all of the main amenities that you would ever need during your stay and the staff are amazing. From the minute we arrived by boat, they immediately grabbed our bags and carried them all the way up the stairs to the top of the mountain and had nothing but a smile by the time we got to the top! Breakfast was absolutely amazing and featured a three course meal. We had nothing but great things to say about this resort. We will be back!

Amazing place to stay in a decent bungalow on top of the hills. The TVs weren't working, probably for a while based on the laminated signs. They get five stars because it's an incredible location, nice facilities, good food and all the employees were kind and gracious. Especially New, he was the best host I've ever had with incredible customer service. He deserves to be a manager or at least deserves a raise. New helped us from the start of our stay until the end with every detail a guest could need. Thank you HIP Seaview Resort. Note, this resort is on the south end of the island, it requires a boat taxi to and from for most places such as the bars, shops, and restaurants of Phi Phi island. Also the resort is up in the hills, meaning you'll be climbing stairs but you get used to them. The first time we arrived it felt like we could barely make it to the top. The employees greeted us with cold towels and fruit juice. Eventually you get used to the stairs and it's probably good to keep lazy mfs out anyways. Plus it's worth the view.
