It was nice walking trough cave, a lot of nice views in there. When You see it, You think how hard is to imagine, how big that cave is. It impressed me a lot.

Stunning cave the beat we have been in so far in slovakia even though there was not much ice due to the time of year. the guide was excellent even though I don't understand slovak I picked up on little bits as he was pointing things out throughout the cave hopefully will return in April when the ice is at its best.

Parking fee 6€, cave entry 8€ for adult, camera permission for taking pictures inside of the cave 10€, hiking to entrance took me about 10 minutes, really very steep, with tickets it is possible to buy gifts, coffee as well. This kind of cave is really need-to-see. Take warm clothes, inside temperature is around 0, but the amount of stairs inside will heat you really a lot :-)

Demänovka It is located in Nízké Tatry. Of the total length of 1900 m, 680 m are accessible to the public, I physically walked 1458 m in the cave complex. The entrance hole lies at an altitude of 740 m above sea level. The cave consists of spacious corridors and domes, spread over three cave levels. The cave is entered through a narrow fissure corridor to the lowest floor 40 m below, where until recently the floor was covered with ice and more robust stalagmites and stalagmites in the size of the Great Dome and Kmet's Dome, which the guide pointed out and could not forgive the reminder of global warming. . In the spring, ice stalactites also hang from the ceiling. The other areas do not have more permanent ice formations and are characterized by stalactite formations, painted gray to black on the surface from the soot of tar pitch. The glaciation of the cave was made possible by the vertical shape of the entrance parts, which prevents the penetration of warm air in summer. The stability of ice formations in summer depends on the degree of cooling of the cave walls and on the accumulation of ice in winter. The relative humidity in the cave ranges from 96 to 98%. My veil was completely sweaty after the east. Many Thanks to the two great guides who had great patience with me.

Unfortunately there is extra fee for taking photos and extra for recording videos which is 10 euro so I think it's too much. I wish there was glass wall around the aisle in the cave because someone can easily touch and break the ice. I really recommend this unique and imposing place.

Beautiful cave, but almost all of ice in the lower parts melted already. (I was there mid August) Probably would recommend to visit this place mid May. I liked that the groups were divided to Poles and Czechs/Slovaks and the guidance was in different language depending on a group.

Nice but very, very cold inside! Bring coats and winter hats. There isn't an
English speaking tour, just Slovak, Polish Czech, and Hungarian. Very special cave.

Short, but very pithy walk with a guide.
Very beautiful cave!

Note for some parents: for God's sake, read on the website how to dress your children for the cave and how they should behave. Not only that they talk loudly and make noise, they cannot concentrate and only complain that they are cold and they want to go out.

Nice and short!
The cave's nice to see, and the visit isn't too taxing. Keep in mind, grandma will have to climb few hundred steps to get out.
Make sure you take your time to climb up the 70 mt ascension to the entrance: in summer that can be quite taxing, especially if you're hurrying trying to get a ticket (also gradma will have tough time).

A very good place for kids!
Better be fit before you go there :) you're going to climb a mountain using stairs.

By-The-Way - please note - the forest isn't there for your trash!
Use a bag!

Nice cave to visit. Unfortunatly we couldn't understand the tour because it was in Slovak language. Still we had a great time.

It is astonishingly beautiful and VERY cold (0°C) inside, so wear proper clothing to enjoy it. No English language tour, but the scenery is totally worth it.
