What an experience it turned out to be! A journey through Romania’s flavors, where tradition blends with innovation.
We tried the 11-course tasting menu.
The dishes themselves were like little pieces of edible art, each one telling its own tale.
The staff felt more like guides on this gastronomic adventure, enriching our experience with insights and stories behind each creation.

Must visit if you want to have fine dining at its best: taste, presentation, ambience, service and story telling! Kudos to chef Radu and its team. We had the 11 course menu and decided to go with the cocktail paring, instead with wine paring. It was a great choice. We have been even more impressed, as they changed part of the airing on our request to alc free cocktails.
The taste, creativity and presentation Chef Radu and team are bringing on the plates is impressive. What makes the experience unique was the story the wunderful service team presented for each of the courses... and the "surprises".
We can't wait for the next dinner at Kaiamo

Completely and utterly AMAZING!!! To contextualize my review, I've dined at 162 Michelin starred restaurants, including 7 of 10 restaurants ever to be named the #1 restaurant in the world (in the World's 50 Best list). Kaiamo is up there. I mean it is WAYYY up there! If Michelin came to Romania, Kaiamo would easily be a 2-star. EASILY!

The food... Not one thing tasted even average. Everything was above average, and a few rose to the short list of best tastes of my life! It is sooo difficult even for World #1s to not miss on a few dishes. Usually restaurants are pushing the limits of creativity so hard that several (out of a couple dozen tastings) fall flat, are average, or are just off. That's normal. The true test of a chef is, ultimately, and as it should be... do your dishes make me say "Wow!" over and over again (and more often than not). Kaiamo's chef doesn't sacrifice flavor for ingenuity. He does it all. He IS all!

The creativity... I will limit sharing and spoiling all the surprises. As a tease though, 1) At one point you might think a dish is brought in error... it is not. And when you realize it, a huge smile will adorn your face. 2) At another point, the server will ask for your trust, place something in your hand, and the flavor explosion unlike anything I've ever had will ensue. 3) I love Legos... That is all.

The service... Because of a chronic back injury, I had a special request to have a speedy service in about 2 hours or less. When others might have pushed back ("We can't do that because of blah blah blah..."), Kaiamo was incredibly compassionate and caring instead. The chef himself spoke to me about the request at the beginning of the meal, said his team would do everything possible to make me comfortable, a server even offered a back pillow or some stretch breaks. Just "Wow" (in another form). A special shout out to Yar, who is from Ukraine (where I work), for being one of the most attentive, friendly servers ever!

Overall, how do I sum this up? Kaiamo is one of the BEST restaurants in the world. Not just Romania, but the world. It is worth the trip to Bucharest alone, and I hope Kaiamo soon arrives on the 50 Best rankings. To Kaiamo I say... keep going. Keep pushing, keep creating. Don't worry about Michelin not being there. You are better and beyond that. Become the best in the world. Because you have all the tools to achieve it.

I love the concept: from the storytelling, to the dishes, wines, cocktails, service, music and atmosphere. You can really enjoy Romanian haute cuisine here and not only that, with an experience full of surprises (not only culinary).

We had an amazing time at Kaiamo - 5 star experience for sure!
We had the 11 course tasting menu and every single course was delicious (with amazing plating) and had a story behind it which made for an interactive experience. Cocktails were great as well.
The service was impecable - our waiter played a big part in our 5 star experience, he was professional, friendly and took great care of us!
The place is absolutely phenomenal and I would recommend it to everyone looking for a Michelin star worthy fine dining experience in Bucharest!

Embarking on a gastronomic odyssey at Kaiamo, I found myself immersed in an extraordinary blend of culinary finesse and creative genius. The experience transcended mere dining; it was an exploration of sensory delight and innovative presentation.

From the moment we stepped into Kaiamo, the ambience spoke of understated elegance, a perfect backdrop for the culinary masterpieces that awaited us. Each course was a testament to the chef's adept skill in balancing complex flavors, creating a symphony on the palate. The dishes were not only a treat to the taste buds but also a visual feast, embodying the essence of fine dining.

But the pièce de résistance of the evening was undoubtedly the dessert course. Presented as an intriguing assortment of edible 'legos', it was a playful yet sophisticated twist that sparked both our imagination and our appetites. Searching and assembling these delightful morsels was not just an engaging activity but a conversation starter, adding a layer of interactive fun to our dining experience.

The impeccable service at Kaiamo further elevated the experience, with attentive yet unobtrusive staff ensuring that every detail was perfect. Each dish was not just served; it was presented with a narrative, adding depth and context to our culinary journey.

I don’t have enough stars to describe the experience at this place. Totally recommend! The food was delicious, a spectacle indeed. I would say a truly gastronomic experience, a place that deserves for sure 2 Michelin stars if that would be possible in Romania. If you are truly passionate about the culinary arts this is the place for you. I totally recommend the full menu. I let the pictures speak for themselves but nothing can describe being there and enjoying the full experience ☺

Amazing food, amazing service. Easily creating some of the best culinary experiences in all of Romania. We had the 9 course tasting menu. The use of “illusions” is quite fun while the dedication to local ingredients was much appreciated. We highly recommend this experience.

For another year, I traditionally visit a fine dining restaurant on my birthday. This time I chose Kaiamo in Bucharest. I expected Michelin level and I got it.

The food is at a top level, immaculate. However, there is no a la carte option - only 3 types of tasting menu - 9, 15 or 20 courses. 9 are a lot, you overeat, and I can't even imagine the others.

Behind each dish there is a short story - how the chef was inspired, what message it sends, etc.

A lot of mimicry as a technique, which is always fun.

There was cuttlefish, octopus and fish, but also pork, venison and veggie.

The pairing was good, but the first white wines did not demonstrate a memorable nose and taste. Gradually we got into more interesting options and finally the red wine impressed us. In general, there was not enough fresh acidity in the wines.

I wanted to have the menu written on paper, or download it somehow from a QR code but they didn't provide me one, even though they promised to send it by mail. I forgot many of the details about the dishes served.

In  my booking request I had written to them that I was celebrating my birthday. On the phone, when they called me for confirmation, they asked me if I wanted a cake. I was surprised and confirmed. I thought it would be a compliment. They explained to me that they were asking me in order not to make a scandal. Then I understood why - I was charged for it. Usually in other places they give me a small cake, something like a cup cake as a compliment, but here I paid for it. It didn't have to be a whole cake, it could be something small like a compliment to be a gift and not a way to get more money out of the customer. The cake was nice though.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kaiamo in Bucharest, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I knew I was in for a memorable culinary adventure. Kaiamo not only surpassed my expectations with its delectable dishes but also captured my heart with the impeccable service and enchanting storytelling provided by our waiter, Max.

Max, with his infectious enthusiasm and genuine passion for the culinary arts, elevated our dining experience to new heights. His storytelling skills were truly exceptional, as he effortlessly transported us into the world of each dish, weaving tales that awakened our senses and heightened our anticipation. Max's warm and attentive demeanor made us feel like cherished guests, and his vast knowledge of the menu left us in awe.

⚠ SPOILER ALERT 🚨

Now, let me dive into one particular moment that truly showcased Max's talent and left us utterly impressed. A "mistake" occurred when two dishes that appeared identical were served twice. It was not until Max approached our table, eyes twinkling with mischief, that we realized we were about to experience an extraordinary culinary surprise. With the flair of a true performer, Max revealed that the supposedly identical dishes were, in fact, unique creations carefully crafted by the kitchen. The sheer delight and surprise on our faces mirrored the joy Max exuded as he playfully revealed the secret behind this delightful "mistake." It was a masterful act that left us all in awe of Max's showmanship and attention to detail.

The rest of the staff at Kaiamo also deserves praise for their professionalism and dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience. Every member of the team seemed genuinely passionate about their craft, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and pampered. Their knowledge of the menu and their ability to recommend dishes that perfectly suited our preferences made us feel like we were in the hands of true experts.

And let's not forget about the negronis! Kaiamo's bartenders are true maestros when it comes to crafting the perfect cocktail. The negronis we ordered were a symphony of flavors, expertly balanced and presented with an artistic touch. Each sip was a revelation, showcasing the bartenders' expertise and passion for mixology.

In conclusion, Kaiamo in Bucharest is a true gem that combines culinary mastery, impeccable service, and a touch of theatricality. Max, our charismatic waiter, brought the dining experience to life with his remarkable storytelling and impeccable service. The "mistake" dish, ingeniously executed and served with flair, left us speechless. The entire staff demonstrated a commitment to excellence, and the negronis were a testament to their expertise in the craft of mixology. Kaiamo is a dining destination that will leave you with lasting memories and a desire to return time and time again.

So, if you find yourself in Bucharest and yearn for a culinary adventure like no other, make your way to Kaiamo. Prepare to be enchanted, indulged, and captivated by an evening that will forever linger in your heart and taste buds.

We had the 20 courses tasting experience. Every dish is served in beaufitul plates and has a story behind which makes it even better. Their use of local ingredients and creativity is amazing. They make great cocktails also. The staff is really professional and friendly. The atmosphere is great, and the fact that we could see from the bar what was happening in the kitchen reminded me of Japan.
An exquisite experience. Definitely worth trying.

We had a wonderful experience at Kaiamo. We had the 9 course tasting menu and we appreciated the concept of reinventing and experimenting with Romanian cuisine, with quality ingredients. Each course had its story and overall the menu has cohesion. Our favorites were the octopus and the sea bass. The atmosphere is cosy, the staff is professional and helpful (special thanks to Ruza). Kaiamo was a truly Michelin star experience in Bucharest. We will be back and also recommend it to others.

Came here to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. We went with the 9 course tasting menu plus a special cake, and left completely stuffed!! My favorite part was the story-telling behind with each dish, which all had a witty, playful connection to Romania. You can really feel the chef’s love for this beautiful country. The dishes are unique and beautifully plated, of course delicious too 😋. The staff was very courteous, professional, friendly, with a dash of sense of humor, and we were made to feel right at home and welcomed. On par if not better than some of the Michelin restaurants we visited in France/Italy. Thank you Kaiamo for making our celebration extra special ♥

I had a business dinner in here.

It was a course for 15 different types of foods. Everyone of them has very unique touch of styles. Mostly it was greatly tasty!

Serving time was rather long, 7 courses took 2.5hours so we were recommended to be in 11 courses' meals and we did it. It was a good choice. Still it took a time like 3.5 hours from 6.30pm to 10pm. Dont get me wrong, all of us enjoy the moments, talks and also wines.

It has a lot of people well dressed and behaved I believe.

Staffs are super nice, each one of them has a good English speaking.

I can say, I had a good and memoriable dinner there.

One thing that my team thought about this place was, I cannot say what was the signature food out of 11 meals. It would be even greater to have one to remember unforgettably.

Enjoy & Cheers!
