Was greeted in a very warm and pleasant manner when I arrived even if I happened to be 15min early.

Got a good explanation of the menu for the day and once I decided to go with the long menu I was in for a treat.
Dishes came in at a comfortable speed yo enjoy but not being stressed. Every dish explained carefully and when dessert came they asked if I wanted it straight away or wait some and I appreciate that approach so that you are able to get some time and maybe enjoy an additional drink or finish what you have left in the glass from the main courses.

A very good experience and I would recommend this to anyone in Bucharest.

It’s an amazing experience. Although not the cheapest fine dining, it is worth every leu. Go here and enter a world of flavors. Bring your loved one and have an amazing night. The service is great and every single course is a delight.

Amazing fine dining experience! We had the chef's table long tasting menu with wine pairing. The private dining gives you the opportunity to see how the chefs repare all the dishes. They use only local in season ingredients. The menu is fixed and it is changed every season. All the dishes were served and explained by the chefs. Almost all dishes were accompined by a different wine. I really enjoyed all the attention that was put into every single detail.

Expensive, but worth it. They change the menu once a season. They have 2 short menus and 1 long tasting menu.
The short menus cost 550 RON each and the long one 650 RON. So, for a dinner in two + some cocktails and the included tip, it will cost you about 1400 RON in total.

You can make an online reservation and you'll get a reply on your mail with the menus. They accept only card payment. All the details will be on the mail, except the bar menu (cocktail, beer, wine, etc.).
I spent there around 3 hours with my boyfriend. The courses/dishes were small, but tasty and presented to us in a tasteful manner. In some photos I've already seen from previous reviews, the menu items seem bigger. They are actually small like the palm of your hand, but very nourishing. I felt already full after the appetizers.

The music was smooth jazz (coming from amazing state of the art speakers), the lightning seemed perfect for a time in two.

What I enjoyed the most was the tour of the restaurant and its history, at the end of our dinner.
The initial house was projected by the same architect of the Arch of Triumph (our Romanian version).
It belonged to a boyar and after remained in ruins. It was rehabilitated by the original plan. The walls in the room we had reservation was made of black ceramic tiles - very rare.
The floor was made of river stones, the paintings belong to a Romanian artist and everything from the menu is with organic Romanian ingredients. Even the liquid soap from the bathrooms (which smells addictive) is made by a Romanian company.
For tourists I think the local wines and their stories would be a delight, too.

I also asked about the name of the restaurant. It's called Kane after a Hawaiian god.

It was a special dinner and evening for us and we fully enjoyed.

This is not a restaurant, this is a full on experience, a story told through food, with every single course on the tasting menu having its own unique character. The kitchen strives for perfection in every plate, and the service team delivers the most luxurious experience I have ever seen in my 18 years of living in Bucharest. This is THE place to not miss whenever you find yourself here.

My husband and I just got back after having dinner with another couple at Kane.
As a native New Yorker/ food-lover, I must confess, Kane exceeded my expectations.
The decor is subdued, intimate and has a rugged-elegance. Once inside it's hard to say what cosmopolitan city you are in, is it Paris, New York, maybe London...? We arrived quite late, so I am not sure what the ambiance is like during the day, as the colors chosen are quite dark. I photographed the lamp above our table which is lovely with a porcelain looking floral motif. The lighting borders on romantic, so a good choice for an exclusive dinner. The drinking glasses are from Reidel and the cutlery has a nice design. The tables are rather barren and the linens are lackluster but that did not stop us from enjoying the delicious tasting menu. There are a few possibilities and one can choose to have them paired with a wine-tasting menu as well. The open kitchen is an added bonus.
We had the small tasting menu, our partners had one selection and we had the other. Each menu has 10 dishes, three of which are desserts. I am sorry to say that I did not make a note of each one, but I did taste all the dishes from both menus, and I only started taking pictures when we got to the desserts.
The plating is beautiful and so is the variety, marinated mustard seeds, foie gras mushroom sauce over chicken, fish with a chive sauce, duck with a fermented blueberry sauce, a beef kataif appetizer (yum), delicious Horezu cheese, oh the house bread- a fusion between homemade bread and a croissant (to die for) served with elderflower butter...needless to say, the dinner was astonishing, and definitely the best meal I have had in Romania in over 25 years, sincerely, it is the closest thing to a Michelin star experience in Bucharest.
While it is not inexpensive (550 lei p/p for the short tasting menu, 650 for the 13 course one- if I remember correctly), the price-quality ratio is unbeatable, it would be triple in any other city for this level of service/food.
The waiters and sommelier were very nice and did their best to satisfy our questions and requests.
The location is in the city center in a beautiful villa on a residential street.
The next time we go, we were told that we can ask for the chef's table so that we can get more insights regarding the food.
Lastly, I like writing reviews that are honest and fair, and I start by reading the 1 star reviews and work my way up. I must say, this is a 5 star restaurant without a doubt and I am in no way affiliated to this establishment. So, please make sure you have the right credit card, that you are accustomed to tasting menus, that you know that a restaurant of this caliber comes at a price, and go enjoy an amazing meal.
Hats off to the Kane team and thank you for the impressive evening and for tantalizing our taste buds!

My recent dining experience at Kane in Bucharest was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the elegant and inviting ambiance, setting the stage for a memorable evening.

The menu, an exquisite blend of innovation and tradition, showcased the chef's mastery in creating dishes that were both visually stunning and delightfully flavorful. Each course was a journey through a variety of textures and tastes, perfectly balanced and presented with artistic flair.

Service at Kane was impeccable. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a fantastic dining experience. Their recommendations for both food and wine were spot on, enhancing our meals wonderfully.

The attention to detail at Kane, from the ambient lighting to the quality of the tableware, added to the luxurious feel of the evening. It was a delightful experience to dine in such a thoughtfully curated space.

Kane is a true testament to the fine dining scene in Bucharest. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary culinary experience in the city. I left with great memories and look forward to returning to Kane for another exceptional dining adventure.

I wanted for some long time to come to enjoy this beautiful and amazing restaurant. I came little late and everyone was very friendly and helpful. As soon I was seated the waiter explained the menu and about the drinks options. What is available?Long menu option and short menu devided in menu 1 and menu 2.
Some of the dishes are the same in both menu 1 and menu 2.
Wine list needs little improvement but still fine with me.
Every dish was explained clearly and arrived in good time manner.
Experience was amazing and I can say can be inspected by the Michelin guide.
I had a tour of the place including the Chef Table. Great experience and for sure I will be back.
Thank you Kane Team.

One of the best tastings I have had. Wonderful service. They combined many flavor I unique ways such as a mussel wrapped in a horseradish gelatin with pickled green apples in a mussel consomé

A perfectly balanced and creative tasting menu accompanied by Romanian wines from some of the newest wineries in the country, a really nice surprise to discover them.
The new summer menu is truly a culinary poetry.
Elegant and highly customer centric service.
To make it short, a must visit for special ocasions or just a self indulgence moment!

Exquisite food, good wine pairing, perfect service.
The restaurant is located in a very beautiful house.
The dining room walls are covered with very large blue acrylic paintings.
The food is inventive, delicious and served with art.
The wine pairing was spot on.
The service is impeccable.
The music was pouring elegantly from a Devialet speaker.

An amazing experience the likes of which I did not expect to find in Bucharest. Truly a hidden gem on Dianei Street in the centre, it opens up with a very nice and intimate atmosphere and friendly service. The food is simply wonderful, with tastes that just flow perfectly and fit together to challenge and entice your palate. Every dish comes with an explanation and answers to whatever questions you may have. The staff is even open to light banter on the side and further discussing the courses and drinks. Speaking of which, the wine selection has been carefully considered, the elderflower wine is exquisite and the Transylvania beer based on an old recipe by Bavarian monks.

The prices are quite high for Romania, but you really get what you pay for and for what it offers and as an experience I wouldn't say it's overpriced in any way.

All in all, this was the highlight of my vacation in Romania this year and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a true gourmet experience. It felt good to come home and see this kinds of places pop up.

There should be another scale of ratings for fine dining, cause u can't really put for example, a pizza that you enjoyed a lot, and this kind of dinner on the same spot 😅
I enjoyed a lot the experience, the service, the attention at details, I could notice from start to end that they carefully planned every element of our dinner.
I didn't love the selection of wines, but this comes from someone who doesn't know a lot about wines. What I can say is that compared to other such dinners when I had at least a memorable wine to look for, here it wasn't the case.
All in all, I would love to taste their next menu, and I would recommend this place to anyone to try at least once 😊

An excellent fine dining, tasting menu experience at a restaurant concerned with advancing Romanian cuisine in exciting and gastronomically experimental ways. Not all elements of all dishes are hits. Personally, I thought that the bread and butter course was much much too rich with noting to cut through the richness (apart from the excellent wine pairing which, being optional, still doesn't remedy my criticism) though beautifully done and locally inspired with not just fermented butter as a spread but also whipped horezu cheese. Also the coriander ganache block, though creative and well done was frankly not very delicious. This restaurant places both gastronomic excellence and experimentation at the forefront and does both wonderfully. Not every element of every dish can be a hit when you're being this creative and that four times a year (the menu changes seasonally). This restaurant is not concerned, unlike its closest competitor Kaiamo, with crafting narratives, it is purely about culinary aspects, a focus that pays off, in a way, but beware, narratives aren't what you'll get here. Our waiter however was truly wonderful and really elevated the experience, as did the friendly chef who was ready to give a brief explanation of the kitchen to my father at the beginning of service! This clearly is a restaurant where people like working at and the open kitchen attests to what I don't know to be but do think to be a quite positive working culture in this establishment. Bravo again, a great time was enjoyed by all, owed also to the wonderful ambience and music. If you have any interest in fine dining, do go, you will absolutely not regret it.
