Criș Bethlen Castle Reviews

It is a lovely castle. Plenty of history to get to know here. The entrance fee is 15 lei and you also get a guide to tell you more about the place and current renovations. In weekends usually there is a local person who also knows a lot of history and welcomes visitors. We had the luck to meet him and had a valuable history lesson here. Our group loved the visit. There is a garden, a small coffee shop with a few seats, toilet as well. You can also buy some souvenirs. Via Transilvanica goes through the village, another good reason to visit

This castle it is under renovation and probably still be for few more years but they've managed to bring it from a complete ruin to something with great potential.
It is an amazing jewelry and not too many people know about it and this should change because every single income will help this castle to become something amazing!

What an amazing discovery in the heart of Transylvania. It's true, there are many castles and fortified churches in the area, so all you need is time. But if you don't have much time, come here first!
Criș Bethlen Castle is a charmer because of its intricate, modern history and the shadow of what was once an incredible English garden. Do make a donation and contribute to its restoration, for it is now in good hands!

Beautiful place to visit. Full of history. It is in a renovating process now but visitable. It has a room with games for kids (puzzles, hunting treasures, colouring)

You can still see the faded beauty of this amazing castle. Thankfully, it is slowly being restored. Worth a visit now and in a couple of years from now. Also, any donation would really help the NGO to finish restorations and revitalize the area.

A project that well & trully deserves top marks. Off the beaten track (read that Sighisoara - Medias road), keeps it charm after all these years. Part of a restoration project that I hope is seen through to completion, this is probably one of the most underrated castles I`ve seen. Had an improptu guided tour offered by one of the locals - who`s name I`ve forgotten, sorry :( , massively knowledgeable & kind enough to walk me through the places history & secrets). This will certainly be a usual stop for me whenever visiting the area. Place is properly managed & the site manager is doing a brilliant job, though I`m sure this is neither an easy nor short term project. Best of luck

The site is currently under construction, but you can distinct its former beauty. The chilly prison, the echoing chapel, many halls with some pieces of old furniture. For 10 lei donation you can visit it and local workers (very welcoming and polite simple people) will try to tell you as much as they know and understand 😊

One of the least known castles in Romania and i kind of hope it stays this way. Excellent bilingual guide who was super knowledgeable, friendly and just a wonderful human being. Castle accepts donations only if you enjoy your time there. Needless to say we made a generous donation.

This quite a remote castle, and time wasn't quite kind with it. However it is under active restoration, and fully open for visiting.
With a bit of curiosity you can access some areas that may be less accessible, like the roof or the cellars.

An exclusive piece of Romanian culture, rich in history, both local and international with presence in numerous national and international movies. Ask for a guided tour from Mihai.

An exquisite nobiliary residence in Renaissance style that will definitely amaze anyone. The restoration is ongoing and visitors are welcomed to explore the construction site. I like the attention to details and interesting history. Gladly recommend.

The mysterious fortification of Cris, Bethlen Castle, is one of the most beautiful examples of residential and defensive architecture from the Renaissance period in Romania. Must visit it!

It is a very nice castle, its architecture is stunning, and the way it is kept in a historic state is also beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a relaxing experience that doesn't have to be missed if you are in the area. I will surely return and I highly recommend to pay a visit.

The foundation that take care of the place seems to do a good job. They are get back the old times beauty of the place. Even if the work is still in progress the place is worth to be added on your 'to visit' list.
Can't wait to come back in some time and see the final result.
Congratulations dor taking care of it, you are doing a great job.
