Locanta Jaristea

That was an unique dining experience with absolutely awesome service and ambiente. The musicians and the si ger were magnificent. Very much recommended!

Placed close to an intersection of 2 small streets, somewhere near Blvd. Regina Maria, Locanta Jaristea is a place out of our time, a travel into the past in a surprising location. If you want to actually feel the old Bucharest, somewhere between the 2 world wars, you must not miss it.
Food is delicious, the menu is mostly oriented toward traditional romanian cuisine, specific to first half of the past century. People is nice, music is nice, all is conceived to preserve the authentic look and feel and, as well, to make you feel better in a warm ambiance.

but instead of piano they have "the țambal" an mitological piece of Romanian musical instrument.

Vintage decorations, orchestra with singers, interbelic atmosphere with tradițional food and drinks.

We came here after our Uber-driver strongly encouraged us to eat here, promising us a unique experience and great food.
We were immediately greeted and let to a table. Our host was super nice and gave us the menue, water and some sort of strong alcohol.
As we do not speak or read Romanian we just let him pick for us, trusting that he would know what’s good.
We got mixed fish appetizers up front and lamb and pork with potatoes and baked apple as a main dish.
Everything was delicious and the service was great.
You could feel that the person taking care of us is a true host and loves to engage with people.

Lovely place with elegant setting, great entertainment and good food. This is a unique place. You must visit when in Bucharest.

Located nearby Parliament Palace, this restaurant takes you back in time with its old times atmosphere.
Their impressive menu is mainly based on old recipes.
Here you will spend wonderful evenings with live music starting from 19:30 until the last guest.
Upon artists’ daily availability, the different music genres - about 4 during the same night - varies from opera to instrumental, to old party folk.
So it will be hard to resist not to try the dance floor also.
Expect some beautiful surprises from the owner before leaving this restaurant !

This place feels like it is taken from the 1980s, but with good food and a dedicated old school chef. Come here to get a the good taste of old Bucharest.

Jaristea is a truly authentic Romanian restaurant. The staff is helpful, nice and helps you with anything. The food is great, at least what I tried so far. I really recommend this place!

What an amazing experience! If you have deep pockets, lots of time, a large group, and if you are a non-vegetarian who likes to taste and experiment with food, then this is THE place to visit !! It will surprise you for sure.
