ALDI Almancil

I like this store because it’s part of a German chain and it’s possible to buy Portuguese and some German products (which aren’t available elsewhere). The store itself has been nicely renewed 1-2 years ago and is usually very clean and tidy. Due to the specific nature of this kind of shop (Aldi and Lidl, it’s main competitor have each a maximum of around 650 simultaneous referenced products available in shop), some items aren’t always available, some new references appear and disappear from time to time, particularly in the non food area. As a regular customer, I use the app or their web site to look at their weekly booklet, to see what is available. As expat I use all available shops (small, middle and huge) around here and this one is part of my favorites. They are 14 Aldi shops distributed in Algarve to allow visitors and locals to enjoy their products. It’s worth to pass by, have a look and decide yourself if it suits your needs. Enjoy!

All sorts of fish, wine, w(h)iskeies and other fresh produce are in abundance
Staff speaks good English, there is NO public WiFi and parking is huge.

On Av.5 de Outubro, just off the N125 road, after quatro estradas, heading towards Almancil. Next to Apolónia. Easy accessible for wheelchair users. Has several reserved disable parking spaces at the entrance, and a very large toilet adapted for wheelchair users.
Does not have an ATM (cash)machine. The closest would be at the bank, across the road. Or at Apolónia next door.
Large inexpensive supermarket, where you can get all your daily shopping. (and if you can't get a certain item, you just pop into the expensive Apolónia next door).
At selected times you can get great deals on car accessories, tools, sewing-machines and household goods.

Always a good range of products,especially top quality fruit and vegetables at sensible prices.
Everything is in a massive marquee at the moment due to the premises being enlarged.( April '19 )
