We visited for lunch and had the daily special which was octopus and sweet potato. It was excellent. The service was also very good. You can sit inside or outside on the pavement under parasols and watch the world go by.

We didn't make it back for dinner, but the evening menu look great.

Beautifully pieced together cafe, serving nice coffee and good food. Holds its history in high regard, and pays tribute to it's past in the right way. A wonderful spot for a coffee.

Small café in a great part of town. They have a pretty short menu, but the hamburger is fantastic and the fish of they say they had, octopus in oil and garlic, was really delicious. Also, great pricing.

We stopped here for our morning coffee and cakes. The lady speaks perfect English and it was very busy.

The coffee was good but if you come to this place it’s to indulge it with a Folhado 😋 It’s delicious and it deserves a try as one of the best sweet pastry you can get in Loulé. The staff is friendly and the building has a great history too. Plus, for some added nostalgia, Mr. Bean is in a loop on tv 🤓

Great place, excellent food at good prices, nice cold beer and decent coffee. Friendly service in a central and convenient location in Loulé. Highly recommended.

Beautiful central place. Near market and old town. Very reasonably priced recommend chicken or tuna salads or the roasted chicken special. They even have a guitar mounted on the wall if you want to play. Lovely touch.

Great tostas mista and assorted pastries. Hostess is very kind and speaks English. One of my "go to" spots for a nibble and an Americano.

Looking for an historic and trendy cafe in Loule centre and on top serving very good food and drinks at reasonable prices..? then go to Calcinha. Gorgious desserts and tuna toasts. I really love the place.

I had coffee and some pastry (croissant), it was tasty and fresh..nice old atmosphere that was constantly revived.

We sat outside, next to a bronze statue of a local poet António Aleixo 😀 who became the most popular Portugese poet of his day and was known as The People's Poet. We learned of The Carnation Revolution of 1974 leading to its current Governmental system. And we had a lovely lunch of "specials" : soup of the day, which was a lovely local vegetable broth for €1.50; and a delightful tuna Portugese for a mere €6.00. All washed down with some local beer 😀 Now then: nice beer, excellent food and history. Wow, a low cost delight 😀

Wonderful café, the most traditional of Loulé. The architetonical aspects of the café itself is a must! Lovely place to stay and taste a snacks and beverages. Warmful attendance!

Delicious fresh food accompanied with thirst quenching cold drinks......what more could you ask for on a hot and eventful day!
