O Forno

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Portugal. The food is amazing and typically Alentejano.
The service us excellent and very efficient and extremely kind. Family owned since many, many years.
Senhor Antonio is a great host!

I was wondering around alentejo when I faced this restaurant whose name actually means "oven". Great quitissential cuisine with the very best products. Nothing like in the capitals of this world. Fantastic house wine deserves a try.

Definatly a place worth stoping for. The people there are incredibly friendly and helpfull, I ran out of petrol on a roadtrip luckily right outside this place, after 11pm and all petrol stations closed. The owner/barman had no hesitations to put me on my way again and even offered a free dinner..

Il existe quelques lieux secrets et bien gardés. Nous sommes ici dans une Tasca portugaise, typique, familiale, chaleureuse, où chaque produit a été sélectionné avec un grand soin. Le porc noir y est à l’honneur, et n’a rien à envier avec ses concurrents Espagnols ! Mais il n’y a pas que ça, le saint Pierre, le riz à là tomates, les côtelettes d’agneau. Un vrai délice. Un service impeccable. On se sent bien, comme à la maison. Une adresse qui n’est pas dans les guides, mais que nous recommandons à tout ceux qui recherchent l’authenticité, le goût et la juste simplicité.

Jantar de amigos que, não podia ter sido melhor!! Entradas variadas e de qualidade mas a comida, os pratos principais, são absolutamente intocáveis e maravilhosos! Pratos "à antiga" confeccionados de maneira perfeita! Há anos que não via passarinhos numa ementa ou arroz de lebre! O serviço é bom, o local é pequeno e aconchegante mas a comida... a comida é para lá de boa para quem gosta de caça e de pratos que dificilmente se encontram sem uma longa busca! Aconselhável em toda a linha...

Als je van wild houdt; haas, patrijs, angus rund of wat anders. In dit familie restaurant moet je oppassen dat je je vinders er niet bij op eet. Eigenaar Antonio weet op traditionele manier je te verwennen. We moesten wachten tot er een tafel vrij was. Dat was het dubbel en dwars waard. Goede sfeer, rustige muziek en geweldige bediening. Een perfecte plek om verwent te worden. En vergeet de traditionele cake niet te nemen. Ook al heb je veel gegeten.

Tras horas de carretera, hemos encontrado este bar en Pavia para tomar un aperitivo.
El lugar se encuentra en la entrada del pueblo, el dueño ha sido muy agradable con nosotros, nos ha atendido genial!!!

O local perfeito para apreciar pratos de caça. O serviço foi fantástico e a simpatia pautou toda a refeição. A comida é deliciosa e todos os pratos que experimentei estavam excelentes! Vale a pena a visita.

O Forno è stata la nostra prima meravigliosa esperienza gastronomica in Portogallo, grazie anche ad Antonio che ci ha fatto sentire molto benvenuti.
Abbiamo cenato prosciutto iberico e formaggio di pecora come antipasto e poi piatti a base di agnello, il tutto accompagnato da un ottimo rosso del posto.
ambiente, servizio e cibo tutto eccellente e con ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
raccomando una visita in questo accogliente ristorante situato in un piccolo paese nel bellissimo Alentejo!

Uma surpresa muito agradável no meio do alentejo.
Viemos jantar e provamos varios pratos e estavam todos deliciosos.

Excelente espaço para apreciar a comida alentejana, e não só! Recomendo a entrada de Ovos Mexidos com Espargos e Presunto, uma Sopa de Cação e Migas de Espargos com Carne do Alguidar.
