Very good for the price of just 2.5€ for the pork stew. The fish cake is cold but very good too would be fantastic if they could heat it up. There’s little counters for you to stand and eat or some beaches in the square just steps away. Staffs are friendly

So simple and so delicious. Must have street food Super yummy pork sandwich. Mustard or hot sauce is on a stand near the window. I tried plain, with mustard and with hot sauce. 😋🤤

A must in Lisbon! The wait and hype is real! My friend had told me about this place and how he went 2x and braved the long lines.

The pork sandwich w/ beer is a common snack or meal in Lisbon. This place is one of the best at making it. Fresh and juicy hot pork on bread. No sauce really needed. Very inexpensive and worth every euro!

Delicious choice for all the meat lovers. Very tasty, well flavored meat with fresh bread and reasonable prices. It’s worth trying it. A hidden gem in Lisbon.

As Bifanas do Afonso captures the essence of traditional Portuguese street food with their standout bifanas, presented wrapped in white paper that adds to the charm of an authentic eatery. The succulent pork, seasoned to perfection, is even more delightful with a dollop of mustard, which they encourage adding. This simple addition elevates the flavors beautifully, creating a harmonious blend that tantalizes the taste buds. The experience is straightforward, unadorned, and simply great. As Bifanas do Afonso is a testament to the fact that sometimes the best things come in the simplest packages.

Well worth the wait and delicious bifanas. This spot is super busy but I promise you worth the wait. It’s very reasonably priced too. 3 bifana sandwiches, a large beer and a coke for €14.

We were doing a tour and passed by this place and our tour guide told us how great the sandwiches were! So the next day we went and had a few. Be sure to try the spicy oil, it was really good! The lines can get long but they’re worth it!!

The bifana (pork sandwich) is really good here! We came on a Tuesday around 10 am and there was no line up. The pork was flavorful and juicy. You can add mustard or the spicy oil to enhance the flavors.

One of the best and most affordable street food you have to try in Lisbon. Only 2,70 and you get a fresh white bread with pieces of pork and their special sauce. You can add cheese, but the typical bifana is without. You have to wait for some minutes in the queue but it worths it. No sitting area. You can sit in the benches around. You can also order your beer, water or cola. Enjoy.

This is one of those local gems and a must try when you’re in Lisbon. Have you heard of Strictly Dumpling? I was watching Mikey Chen’s Lisbon video, and he tried the bifanas here.

This was worth the hike up the street. The sandwich was surprisingly tasty with the mustard and chili oil. Wash it down with some draft beer that’s less than 2€\glass. This place is a nice breakfast option because it’s not too filling and not sweet.

I wanted to try the cod fritter, but they don’t do that in the morning. It’s just a small shop, so there were no bathrooms. Cash only!!

Great authentic Portuguese bifanas. Definite must snack while enjoying the sites of Lisbon.

Very small space and no seating available, with only some standing counters to eat at inside and outside, but that is part of the charm.

Excellent and of the best bifanas I have had.

Small, local, and perfect quality. 1000% authentic Bifanas, impressively inexpensive. There is always a line, which takes 15-20 minutes max. We tried the Bifanas com queixo and the Soup of the day. Incredibly tasty.

This a hole in the wall spot, you order your bifana and it on the go or if you can find a near by bench. The bread is fresh, it’s homemade, and the pork is thinly sliced. The marinade used is very tasty.

Long line both days I went but less than 15 minutes each time had the bifana with cheese and added mustard also added spicy sauce the 2nd day(had no idea what it was) paired great with a beer. Everyone sits on the steps along the sidewalk to eat. My kinda place!

A must try hole in the wall. Had both the pork sandwich and fried beans / egg.

No place to sit so more a grab and go place.

Best snack in Lisbon! So simple, so cheap and soooo good. Just bread, pork and mustard if you add it.

I came here 3 times in 2 days and did not get sick of it at all. Best 2,70€ you can spend :)

One of the best things that I ate while in Lisbon! The line can be intimidating mid-day so I suggest trying close to open or close time for a shorter line.
It is cash only and there is no seating besides some benches and sidewalk steps but don’t let that stop you from coming here! The mustard and hot oil are a must add.

Cheap & cheerful street food, in this case a traditional pork sandwich. We added cheese to ours and a couple of small beers which came to just over 10 euros.
It can get busy but the service is quick!
Great place for a quick authentic cheap eat
