Traditional Portuguese restaurant that serves delicious meat dishes in a warm and lively environment! The venue is very spacious and it's family friendly as they have an outdoor kids playground as well as high chairs for toddlers. 👌 Food was really good and the service was great! The staff was very helpful and friendly overall 😊 I would strongly recommend this place if you are visiting or dropping by Monchique.

I was afraid because of some random comments but we needed a place to eat and it was amazing.
Really nice staff despite they were busy ( which is good for them) . They took the time to explain the menu. Food was great, quantity was great too. Wish we could come back.

The menu is varied and interesting, but the highlight of it all are the regional specialities. Cooked freshly with local ingredients, they taste fantastic every time. This was my third visit, and my third time having a wonderful meal. If you are unsure what to try, you can even get a selection of the specialties as a starter to share. Plenty of shaded parking, swift and kind service with multiple language skills and a good knowledge of the food on offer. Beautiful place to eat.

Food is excellent. The staff also speak English, Portuguese, Italian and German (at least our waiter did) and the selection is massive.

They have traditional Portuguese food but a selection of Italian, German and other cuisines. The water is also from Monchique and is quite good. Kind of a cross between Evian and Fiji.

The wine selection is solid.

Great traditional Portuguese restaurant in an old farmhouse. The ambience was exquisite. The staff is beyond friendly. We emailed to make a reservation and then decided to go in person to make a reservation. When we came back for our dinner later on, they remembered us and were so attentive the entire night. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We had the entrada sampler, which had presunto, chorizo, another type of pork, and garlic mushrooms. The presunto and chorizo were amazing. For our mains, we had the prato do dia, which was pork cheeks with plums and potatoes, and the baby lamb with chestnuts. Both were delicious, but the lamb was my favorite. The chestnuts were a nice touch. To finish, we split the chestnut mousse. Muito Obrigada for the great dinner, and I can’t wait to come back!

I had a steak with the house's own sauce. Highly recommended, it was delicious. Very friendly staff. A bit pricey for the region all things considered.

If you are anywhere near here make sure to include this on your "must do" list. From the friendly staff to the outstanding food in the beautiful mountains. If you are on the coast. It's worth the drive!

Excelente restaurant with traditional dishes, and it is indeed dificult to choose which ones to taste . The staff is very friendly, always available to explain everything. Also, they have vegetarian options. Before dinner we took the chance to see the sunset from the top of the mountain - Foia, which was a magnificent moment.

Great place, amazing food and more than friendly staff. We came here for lunch because we wanted to try boar/jabali, it was amazing, he owner also tell us he could do half portion of the mains because they are huge and we end it up trying a little taste of tapas and also lamb with plums, everything was so tasty, the meat melt in your mouth. We really recommended to come to this place if you can. Is also not expensive for the quality and amount of food. We paid 55 euros for starters, mains, drinks and dessert but again, amazing food, can’t wait to come back to portugal to come back.

Great food and ambiance! Will definitely visit again. Owner and staff were super accommodating and the rustic setting is both welcoming and nostalgic.

Good food , nice People and a good example of typical Portuguese Restaurant.

A must if you are visiting the mountain of Monchique but call ahead to book a table. It's been each time a miracle for us to get a spot.

The secretos were absolutely amazing! After a cold, windy, wet hike on the Foia we were ready for a warm seat by the fire and a lovely home made luncheon. The pepper steak was excellent and portions were large. We did see some desserts at other tables that looked wonderful but were so full we couldn't try! Well, another reason. To go back soon!
