Great little inn in monchique. It was simple but had everything we needed. The staff were beyond friendly and very helpful in figuring out which hikes to do. The breakfast was plentiful. Definitely recommend staying here for a night or two!

In february to cold for the pool, but the hottub made up for that 🥰. Yogaclass in the dome was much fun. Beds are great, breakfast with fresh fruit and good coffee ☕

Beautiful stay in the mountains! Great amenities including free car park, delicious breakfast, hot tub and close to some great mountain hiking. Relaxing stay, enjoyable even in the rain!

We had a lovely two night stay in one of the suites at VilaFoia during our honeymoon. The room was clean and full of personal touches, plus the layout and view from the balcony was incredible. We used the kitchenette to cook two dinners instead of eating out in town, and it was such a nice treat to cook together with local ingredients. All of the staff and Henk were very helpful and attended to every detail. Great breakfast, great pool, overall such a wonderful experience.

What a gem! This place is gorgeous! Henk (owner) was very kind and offered us an upgrade for free so that we could have a better view of the mountains and the ocean from our balcony. Breathtaking view! The room was very spacious and the bathroom had Rituals toiletries (including hair conditioner and body lotion!).
We also enjoyed the swimming pool.
Even if we only stayed one night, it was delightful.

Incredible!! I recommend it fully! We had our company summer retreat at Vila Foia in July 2023, and it was incredible. Owners Michel and Henk and the staff were warm and welcoming and took every step of the way to make sure we had anything we needed. The rooms were clean, spacious, and fully equipped. The location has a breathtaking view. Yes, it is a little far from airports or main cities, but this is its charm. It is relaxing, calm and in the middle of nature. However, there are also many different activities you can do in the area (e.g. hikes, pottery, tile painting, olive oil tasting experience, quad biking etc).
I can't recommend it enough for small company retreats (our team is around 20 people) but also, even as a couple get away. I will certainly be heading there again!

Lovely modern hotel in a great location in Monchique. We stayed one night and left feeling super refreshed. We used the jacuzzi and also joined the Tuesday yoga class, both were lovely! We will be back for sure!

This hotel has one of the best service I’ve ever met. Super clean and cozy place. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing place to stay. The view and the hospitality are wonderful. At night you can see al the lights of Lagos and Portimao shining, as if you would see it from the sky and the staff is super helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend going here!

We had a wonderful stay at VilaFoia! The owners and their staff made us feel very welcome and we highly appreciate all their efforts in making us feel as comfortable as possible - think of a delicious breakfast, advice in hiking routes to take and even the possibility of preparing a lunch package (including the nice messages written by the staff on the packaging), as well as enjoying the jacuzzi after a long hike. They also recommended restaurants in the area and were very helpful in making reservations for us. VilaFoia is the perfect place to use as a basis for hikes, to discover both the west and the south coast of the Algarve, but also to relax on your balcony or along the pool. And not to forget: het view is just stunning!

A little piece of heaven! Even though we stayed only 1 day and the weather was rainy, we fell under the charm of the place. Hank, one of the owners welcomed us warmly late in the evening, and was back working hard in the morning side by side with his charming employees. The room everything was perfect, as well as a little sweet present and hadwritten personalized welcome card. As for the location it is perfect for a quiet stay, you have an amazing garden terrace with a pool (unfortunately didn't have the occasion to try it) or if you love road cycling or hiking this is the place to stay. We hope to come back next year for a longer stay. All the best to the owners.

Top experience, the view os absolutely gorgeous, the location is perfect for who is looking to relax, enjoy nature, enjoy Monchique and the surroundings.

Excellent stay at Vila Foia! Totally agree with the 5 star reviews.

Arriving late in the evening (past reception hrs) the owners provided us with all necessary details to perform a self check-in and 'restaurant suggestions" at the reception desk upon arrival. Parking is on site, free and plenty.

We stayed in the big "Monchique" apartment that has a double sized balcony, a living with a comfortable couch, dining set table and a small kitchen. Perfect for a longer stay (we stayed for a week). The big kingsize bed is very comfortable (yet firm), the shutters keep the early morning light out very well, while the airconditioning in both rooms kept the place cool when needed. The double sink bathroom with Rituals care products and a nice big bath tub is a big plus too. Breakfast (outside possible) with a view ; fresh bread, cheeses, charcuterie, juices, fruits and Nespresso coffee!

The staff is super friendly & helpful and really try to make you feel welcome while happily providing you with information on hiking trails, local highlights or book you a relaxing break in the jacuzzi!

Could not have wished for anything more ; truly a gem in the forest of the Algarve.

A wonderful place in the mountains of Monchique. The view from the hotel and the rooms is just amazing. There is really everything you need for a relaxing holiday, friendly and helpful staff, a good breakfast, a garden with a pool and even a jacuzzi. Would highly recommend this place and really wish I could've stayed longer!

Very quiet and peacefull hotel. Great place to start a hike or for visiting the coast. Healthy and good breakfast. Very comfortable beds and .... Did I mention the view😄?!?
