Today I had lunch here with my companion and we were served really quickly. It was uncomplicated and the waitress was in a good mood, had a sense of humour and made us feel welcome. The interior, with its blazing fireplace and minimalist decor, was very pleasant. The restaurant, including the toilets, was clean and inviting. We decided to sit outside in the sun. After realising that there was a Christmas special - starter, main course and dessert - for just €25, we decided to go for it. We chose the brie with cranberries and the caldo verde (which was a fusion and not the traditional Portuguese one) as a starter. Both came quickly, were delicious and beautifully presented. There was pleasant music that wasn't too loud. Then we had the leg of lamb and the turkey leg as a main course and these were also very tasty and beautifully presented. For dessert we chose the lemon tart, which was really great, and the chocolate chip cookie from the pan with ice cream - wow was that a sweet bomb, but really delicious! Overall it was a great experience and the price was absolutely fine for the amount of food and the great service. The only thing that bothered me personally, but which was not the restaurant's fault, was the cat that kept begging next to me and once tried to steal something from my plate. Maybe one could just put some food out for this cat and that would solve the problem ;-) Otherwise: Absolutely recommendable!

The restaurant is big - sit outside amongst the flowers, inside dining on plush velveteen chairs with a breathtaking view or, as we did the patio dining with comfortable chairs. country music and serene Monchique hills. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed, both servers with true smiles on their faces- you can tell they like working there. Stephanie was delightful and took care of our every need and questions about the menu/restaurant. We came for comfort food & Oh how Ceiceira succeeded!
The deviled eggs w bacon jam we devoured, couldn’t even wait for a photo after tasting that Bacon Jam!! They need to bottle the jam.
The batter on the fried chicken was on point with the sriracha sauce to dip and for the fluffy waffle a local honey mix w a hint of heat. Loved the perfectly cut 3x3 crunchy breakfast potatoes.
The melt in your mouth pulled black pig w delicious coleslaw was so yummy- they were out of cornbread cause they just opened last week, yet the waffle was a good substitute.
Prices are reasonable.
The bathrooms are very clean.
Parking is very easy & there’s lots.
Misha & Chris are the real deal - working & loving their restaurant- it truly shows!
We will be back again & again

My husband and I heard about this little place in Monchique that offers a bit of Southern food fusion with Portuguese, so you bet your bottom dollar we were there as soon as we could get a table booked! We had the most amazing view setting on the tastefully decorated relaxed patio area. The staff and owners were a delight to chat with, the food and wine were divine! We seriously couldn't decide on what to order for dinner so we ordered more to take home. It was absolutely delicious! The Sticky Fingers ribs were falling off the bone tender, the Algarvian shrimp were very tasty with a spicy kick to it, especially loved the starter Bang Bang Prawns and Calamari, and let's not forget dessert - oh...that Banofee Pie - yum yum! We paired it all with a flight of wine and it was perfect! If you are ever in the Monchique area - We highly recommend this lovely little gem!

Lovely location with spectacular views of the valley. Lots of free parking space. The interior is modern and elegant with robust touches.
Even on hot days, it's breezy enough to come in and refresh.
The wine tasting trip (North to South) with wines from Vinho Verde, Dão and Algarve, was a lovely idea, and for a very affordable price.
There are quite some choices for food, and everything we saw looked good. It all incorporates some local ingredients. The tortilla chips with spicy cheese and chouriço were very good as a starter. For mains we had slow-cooked ribs and crispy chicken, both very flavourful. The portions are good: it's good value for money!
Last but not least, the service was very warm, heartfelt and prompt.

All in all, as the region of Monchique doesn't have a lot of appealing restaurants for tourists, this is definitely a welcome place to relax and eat and drink well for an affordable price!

Very nice atmosphere and view. Food was delicious, with many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options! I had the waffle with custard. Very tasty. The staff is also very friendly.

Fantastic food and great people.

If you want fantastic food in a traditional Portuguese setting, wrapped in a contemporary style, then Ceiceira is the place to go. The bar looks really smart, and the two dining rooms compliment each other, one incredibly bright and airy, the other more cosy; with stunning views down the valley.

Food is a real experience. Everything on your plate has been carefully thought through. There’s no salad garnish just thrown on the side to “make things look pretty”. Every sauce, every piece of the meal is an individual labour of love, each with its own fantastic colours and flavours. And don’t worry about portion sizes, you’ll be more than stuffed by the end.

The owners are also building an in-house wine production line, so in the near future they’ll be producing their own wines! The wine maker has previously won awards for the wine he’s produced. Given the love and care that goes into the food, I can’t wait to come back and see how well it’s being complimented by what will be fantastic home produced wine!

Amazing find. Sorry we didn’t find this sooner in our holiday. A beautiful venue, stunning location. The art pieces were beautiful, attention to detail and service were sublime. Highly recommend the wine flight. The food is delicious - the difficultly is making a choice! The waiting staff was so kind to our children and service was akin to Michelin standard.

After travelling to Portugal for 5 years and living here for 3 years, I mean it when I say this is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is godly and the atmosphere is exceptional. Best place I’ve seen for vegetarian option and gluten free. If you’re in the Algarve, make sure you visit here.

Great Southern/Portuguese fusion restaurant in Monchique. We loved the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese. The husband spent a few minutes talking to us and was very friendly.

What an amazing, tasty, and beautiful restaurant! We had a wonderful dinner here. Came around 21:30 while they were suppose to close at 22:00 and still... they welcomed us in such a pleasant way with vibrant vibs and energies! Our waitress was so lovely n' sweet too- thanks so much!
Regarding food- WOW! We were left speechless. What a well thought and remarkable way of dealing with fresh ingredients (plenty of vegan and vegetarian options!). Sencirly, taking the meaning of tapas to the next level. Yam and inspiring!
A night to remember. Highly recommended!
+ Beautiful setting and a great way to watch stars at night (if you sit outside).

Wow, y'all. I just won't be able to say how great this place is in words. They are top notch on all levels. Every single bite was delicious. It's American Southern food, but with little twists that make it even better. Service was perfect, and the place is beautiful. Can't recommend it enough, whether you are an American looking to reconnect with some home cooking, or a non-American just looking for some delicious food at good prices.

BEST DINING IN MONCHIQUE!!!We discovered this lovely restaurant on our way to Foia. The tapas are very tasty with a focus on regional products. We enjoyed camembert, chorizo and very tasty gluten free bread. The owner just started opening hours till 10 pm two weeks ago. Also we had a wineflight with three wines representing a selection from north to south of Portugal and a Wineflight with three Different Ports. The staff was very friendly. The prices are amazing. we had 3 courses. There are lovely cakes and homemade gelato for dessert. For 2 people we paid 45 euro including an extra Bottle of white wine we favored from the wineflight for take away. The interior is very beautiful. A lot of focus and love put on details. You can also chose a lot of vegetarian and vegan food options.

Not your traditional Portuguese restaurant but the food was rather good and the staff very helpful, it was early evening when we arrived just before they opened but we were welcomed in to have a drink whilst waiting for opening hours, they even took our order before actual opening so we were served a soon as possible. Highly recommended

This place is really nice, very friendly staff and they speak good english.
Its the best tapas restaurant I've been in since a long time!
Its also a whinehouse and has several whines to taste, so you can choose three different ones to taste for good price.
There interior is very detailed and we loved the sink with the water tap in the toilet area :).

We ordered so much food after a walk of 18km in the mountains but it was the best food to end the day with.

We are belgians, so we love to eat good food! And here there's plenty to find!

Have a good dinner in this great place of foodorgasm!

My husband and I were enjoying all of the fantastic local Portuguese food in the beautiful mountain village of Monchique. We felt like something more familiar after two weeks of fabulous local food. By chance, we decided to pull off the road to give Ceiceira a chance. We looked the restaurant up online before we entered, and to our surprise, the restaurant specialized in Southe US cooking and locally produced wines. Intrigued, we entered the main part of the restaurant, It was large, clean, and tastefully decorated. On one side were tables, and on the other was a wine-tasting counter. A friendly server approached and immediately seated us in the patio area. The patio was equally nice, with some high-top tables and informal lounge-style seating. The restaurant is beautiful inside, but the view is spectacular. You can see the entire village of Monchique(it is a postcard-perfect picture). In the background was American Country Music played at a reasonable volume.

The extensive menu contained some tasty Southern US choices, such as battered/fried chicken and waffles. If this is not your thing, there are plenty of traditional Portuguese items as well as items that may appeal to the many Brits who frequent the area. The owners, a husband(British) and wife(Alabama) team came out to introduce themselves. They explained that their menu is evolving to appeal to a wider range of customers. They told us that they produce much of their wines on-site and are in the process of planting their own vineyards. The fried chicken, marinated Brussels sprouts, and devilled eggs were delicious. Ceiceira was a truly unexpected delight and one of our most memorable dining experiences. #SouthernUSCooking, #Romanticwithaview, #greatfoodwineandservice, #amazingviewofMonchique, #winegreatfoodcandlesview
